'Two and a Half Men' Star Begs the Cancellation Bear to Put Him Out of His Misery

Here's a new twist in actor-fan social media interactions. Two and a Half Men's teen star Angus Jones has released a video in which he refers to his racy comedy as "filth" and tells viewers, "“If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men.” He also says, "I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it." Apparently, his discontent with the show is a part of his newfound religious faith.

Deadline has the video. Warning: it's really long and you have to slog through well over five minutes of Jones discussing his quest to find the perfect church before you get to any of the juicy stuff. This is the first time we can recall an actor on a hit show basically asking for the Cancellation Bear to devour his show. Unfortunately, for Jones, Two and a Half Men is in no danger of being canceled, so if he wants to leave he will have to convince the producers to release him from his contract.

Wow, that certainly is a twist!

Good for him for sticking to his values though, even if a lot of us (myself included) don’t agree with his methods.

People are overreacting. He was clearly having a religious moment and clearly stated after the comments about wanting people to stop that he felt he wasn’t being a “GOD fearing man” by being on the show. I feel he was just having a moment and he was clearly loving the conversation they were having since the beginning of the clip and I understand what he was saying. It’s up to everyone else to judge him based only on people making these misleading headlines about him. It’s no wonder CBS hasn’t responded because they don’t care lmao. I find it ridiculous that people are even complaining when he was just talking about how he should be religiously for goodness sake.

Maybe the writers could write “Jake” to have a newly found change in his character after joining the army (one that goes with what Angus is experiencing)…maybe the army changes him to be more religious, stop smoking pot, etc….just a thought!

I doubt too many people watch the show for him, so if he doesn’t want to be in it, it probably wouldn’t be that hard to write him off. I mean, Charlie Sheen got wrote off and that took a lot of thought. If they can do that, this should be a piece of cake.

  • Chuck Collins

I hope this is some kind of publicity stunt or gag of some sort. Otherwise, this reminds me of when Gary Coleman was under the control of his own Svengali and we all know how well his life turned out!

Kudos to him to not being afraid to share what he believes. I agree with him, the show has no real substance or interesting/believable characters IMO, it is just 22 minutes of sex jokes. It is THE most overrated comedy on network television.

  • UKTVFan

So he thinks his show is “filth,” but is he still cashing the enormous weekly paychecks the show gives him?

  • THE OLD MAN

What’s with all the meltdowns on this show?

  • JJA

Although I agree with him in principle, he should realize that peoples’ jobs depend on the show (and the revenue it makes).

  • Ryan Schwartz

Unless he agrees to donate his $300,000 checks, or his DVD royalties, or his syndication royalties, etc, he needs to keep his mouth shut about not wanting to be there. He was cute when he was young, but he’s proven himself to be a less-than-mediocre actor in his adolescent years, and his character has been nothing more than a prop since his voice cracked midway through Sheen’s reign. If they wanted to get rid of him, they have an easy exit. He’s in the army, so ship him out. Plain and simple.

Show has no soul now that Charlie is gone. Watch the reruns and tell me that any of the new shows have half the Joy of watching as the originals do. I think the only reason the ratings are as good as they are is because there is Crappier stuff on the other networks.

Kid is the highest paid child star on Tv

Quit your whining Angus before I beat the shyt out of you.

  • ChuckieChk

It’s acting and I guess I never understood why some actors/actresses bring up their faith when they are unhappy with something, but never bring it up when they sign their 7.9 million dollar contract. Angus Jones knew/knows wthat the has been since it started, and if he is uncomfortable then dont resign at the end of this year.

I really thought it was a rant about how the last 2 seasons has gone for him, being reduced to 2-3 lines a single episode. The past couple he’s had a lot more but he’s been nearly non-existent the past couple of years. But it turned out to be a religious rant, the show is terrible but it has nothing to do with his reasons.

  • Fed

What is this kid talking about? Two and a half men ended after season 8.

  • iamd3nis

they should have canceled it after charlie left (or got fired lol) cause now its all bullsht

  • DW

wow someone who hates their job after being there for nine years. big headline news there. :)

  • joel

Just another in a long line of child actor meltdowns once they reach adulthood. This year he’s on a religious kick. Next year he’ll be calling Charlie Sheen to get the contact information for Sheen’s coke dealer and pimp.

Sheen, Patinkin, Jones. Why is it always CBS actors that trash the shows that write them big checks?

  • Katie

Thankfully he hasn’t been on the show as much lately anyway. I’m sure he won’t complain about the $300,000 dollars or so that he is being paid for pretty much nothing. I’d be happy if they got rid of him somehow because I personally think Angus is terrible on the show now. He was better when he was younger, not he’s incredibly boring.
