'Two and a Half Men' Star Begs the Cancellation Bear to Put Him Out of His Misery

Here's a new twist in actor-fan social media interactions. Two and a Half Men's teen star Angus Jones has released a video in which he refers to his racy comedy as "filth" and tells viewers, "“If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men.” He also says, "I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it." Apparently, his discontent with the show is a part of his newfound religious faith.

Deadline has the video. Warning: it's really long and you have to slog through well over five minutes of Jones discussing his quest to find the perfect church before you get to any of the juicy stuff. This is the first time we can recall an actor on a hit show basically asking for the Cancellation Bear to devour his show. Unfortunately, for Jones, Two and a Half Men is in no danger of being canceled, so if he wants to leave he will have to convince the producers to release him from his contract.

He just became part of this religion, so he has no beliefs to stick to. And if he really wants to back his religion over his career, he should just not show up. Of course, he’d never work another day in Hollywood in his life, but dammit, he’ll have integrity.

Hollywood actors really need to get over themselves sometimes.

Good luck ever getting a job again, jesus freak! If he can’t learn to keep his personal feelings, beliefs, whatever separate from those of the characters he portrays, then he has no business being an actor in the first place!

  • Dan

It took him 10 years to figure this out. Wow, just be grateful for the paycheck. He gets over 300,000 each ep for talking through a computer. Jon Cryer will stay on the show just to have a steady job. @Bill Do u know how long he’s contracted to be on the show?

    Dear Angus T Jones

This is the last acting job you’ll ever have – if they knew what you were going to look like when you hit puberty they wouldn’t have hired you in the first place – you were hired cause you were a cute kid

If you can have two beckys you can have two morons

  • Rollie Dethloff

Bye Bye Jake Harper. Maybe kill him off saying that he died overseas or something like that. Or bring him back from overseas and have him naturally depart the show at the end of the season.

  • Dan

I have a feeling if the show doesnt end this season it will end 2013-2014 maybe along with HIMYM unless CBS cancels it this year. Its stupid when actors let work interfere with personal opinions. 2.5 Men is just a show, its not a Clever show, actually pretty stupid and has its moments bit its not a detrimental series. It can’t hurt anyone

So “ToXiX” threatens to “kick the shyt” out of Angus Jones (a FLACCID threat, indeed!), and “SJ” calls him a “jesus freak” who has no right expressing his feelings.

Jones is a 19-year-old trying to sort out who he is, and seems a lot more mature than some of people posting here. Anger issues, kiddies?

Preach it. And this proves he is NOT an actor. Not something we already didn’t know that. ;-)

I doubt James Gandolfini or Michael C. Hall support the way of living of their characters, yet they play/ed them with no reservation. Like any actor should do. And it shows on screen.

    Dear Angus:

    Food for thought …

The Bible may, indeed does, contain a warrant for trafficking in humans, for ethnic cleansing, for slavery, for bride-price, and for indiscriminate massacre, but we are not bound by any of it because it was put together by crude, uncultured human mammals.” — Christopher Hitchens (1949-2011)

I have no problems with what he said. However, if he feels that way then some charities should be getting around 10 million dollars from him for all the paychecks he received in the last 10 years. If he really feels that way then I applud him, but if he keeps taking the checks every week without donation than I believe this is just pure crap.

  • ToXiX

I don’t care about that kid. Hes a Nosebleed

  • Anthony Parello (AP076)

I did and said a lot of idiotic things when I was 19 and said many things I would regret the moment they came out of my mouth. I was however smart enough not to tape them and present them to the world.

The show has made him a boatload of money. All of a sudden he considers it filth cause he has limited screen time. Get over it, Angus. At least with less screentime he’s not around the filth, yet still picking up a nice paycheck.

He may need that money if he can’t find that kind of work again.

Publicity? Maybe, but the show has held up quiet well considering the changes.

Most religious people are insufferable. The newly religious, however, are truly unbearable.

  • Lance

I agree with him even though I don’t agree with his reasons. The problem with TAAHM is it was always a one joke show, a tired one at that. Hopefully he gets his wish. He never had a future in acting after TAAHM anyhow …

  • Peter

Its a sin but he earns a lot of money…….:.give me a Break

  • Flame

Done already, 4 episodes into the Kutcher stint.

  • DenverDean

Ungrateful Half-Man. (He gets the longest part of the title.) Go away and bring on an “unknown” son for Ashton – solved.

  • thesnowleopard

@THE OLD MAN and Bill Gorman

I don’t know, but Two and a Half Men sure is a hot mess, both onscreen and behind the scenes. That probably adds to its popularity.

  • jake3988

He’s essentially written out of the show, by being in the army. He only appears on occasion, and they could just as easily not have him ever return.

He really has not done much on the show and they really don’t have to do anything to make up for it. No one really cares about Jake anymore, he’s not that adorable little doofus anymore. He’s just an idiot now.

Considering he gets paid 300k to do almost nothing per episode, plus a lifetime of syndication checks… I think he’ll be fine.
