'Two and a Half Men' Star Begs the Cancellation Bear to Put Him Out of His Misery

Here's a new twist in actor-fan social media interactions. Two and a Half Men's teen star Angus Jones has released a video in which he refers to his racy comedy as "filth" and tells viewers, "“If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men.” He also says, "I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it." Apparently,his discontent with the show is a part of his newfound religious faith.

Deadline has the video. Warning: it's really long and you have to slog through well over five minutes of Jones discussing his quest to find the perfect church before you get to any of the juicy stuff. This is the first time we can recall an actor on a hit show basically asking for the Cancellation Bear to devour his show. Unfortunately, for Jones, Two and a Half Men is in no danger of being canceled, so if he wants to leave he will have to convince the producers to release him from his contract.

    Let’s see the move to Thursday has given the show the biggest raiting ever, and improved the timeslot over 100% in the last 5 years…

    … If Charlie couldn’t kill the show, the kid sure isn’t!

    Some weeks he was in one single scene!

    I expect will see season 11,and they’ll give Walden a brother. The trick us creating a character and personality that fits with Walden and Alan.

    oh, and let’s feed Angus to the Cancellation Bear!

    “I don’t know, but Two and a Half Men sure is a hot mess, both onscreen and behind the scenes. That probably adds to its popularity.”

    I wouldn’t know, never watched the show, but it’s CBS’ #2 rated show, and they will do whatever they can to keep it on the air.

    “Let’s see the move to Thursday has given the show the biggest raiting ever”

    That’s complete nonsense.

    I only have easily accessible ratings going back to 2009-10, but 2.5 Men’s ratings were higher in all years that I have than this one.

    Fall 2012 new episode average: 3.75
    Spring 2012: 3.98
    Fall 2011: 5.94
    Spring 2011: 4.48
    Fall 2010: 4.49
    2009-10 full season: 5.35

    @Dan

    The cast all have 1 year contracts, officially he’s contracted till the end of the season.

  • gustavo

    What an ungreatful jerk is this Angus T Jones!.He earn u$300 000 per episode and want the cancellation.

  • The End

    @gustavo

    Probably worth noting that with or without him, the show will go on.

  • gustavo

    @The End:You’re right.

  • Hugh

    It would make sense if he moved out of home, as the show is currently “Three Men”. Maybe then Alan finds out Charlie has a 10 year old son who moves in with them. Then the shows back to “Two and a Half Men”.

  • Joseph

    it’s sad that he feels that way, hopefully he´ll be written off the show with style, something epic for the season finale.

  • peter

    he takes 300.000 dollars per episode and he has been in this show for 10 seasons… Ofc he doesnt need to work anymore in his life… he can now just spend his money doign nothing… i would want the show to stop as well with 30.000.000 in my pockets for farting 10 seasons in a show….

  • ron

    That`s BS , maybe that is why he hasn`t been on a lot episodes but he was in it since tegh beggining and now he wants o quit¿? maybe its all a publicity move to get more viewers, people will be wathing more to see what happens to jake.

  • Nikki W

    For all his complaining, he certainly doesn’t seem to have any problems with cashing in his “filthy” money and coming back for more season after season. Interesting how that works out.

  • BOTR

    How long before he has a show on TBN where he talks about bananas with an Australian dude while passing out phony money with the Ten Commandments printed on them?

  • Cj morton

    Why can’t he just leave?

  • Tessa

    The show is trash but I wouldn’t clap for him for biting the hand that feeds him. There are thousands of struggling actors out there who wish they had his gig.

    Also “Biting the Hand that Feeds You” should be the show’s new title after this and the thing with Sheen.

  • LesinTucson

    I say make his character gay…and dating a priest. He’ll leave of his own accord that week, and they can sue him for breach of contract!

  • PETE5125

    You guys are very hard on an actor that is in his early 20′s, if he changed his mind on life direction he would still have to full-fill his contract be it a year or 2 years whatever he signed last season, be that this is a new religious experience he will have to do whatever they say, unless said show gets canceled, or he goes Charlie Sheen on them…being that it is their #2 show, I figure they may just do what the Growing Pains people did, make him Christian and work around the demands, it would be easy enough, and could be explained that the Army turned him into a moral non-pot head, and that he is the only one of the group that has his life figured out, could be a good contract vs. a father that life is going nowhere for, you figure no matter what the show can’t have many more years, at some point it will hit 200 episodes and CBS will have to pay out the nose(same situation w/ NBC and friends, after 200 it doesn’t make extra $ in syndication).

  • Jiji Moran

    Certainly, he is no longer a child, so no 1/2 man.

    The show should be called “Three Men”.

    Or, they could make his character gay, so the “Two and a Half Men” tittle should still be appropriate.

    “Celebrity meltdown is the new sex tape.”

    - Jenna Maroney, 30 Rock.

  • Justin121

    What is the longest-running sitcom, ever?

    I can’t think of any that lasted longer than 10 seasons.
