and you are going to tell me that it was only watched 115 times? I wasn’t the first one to make such a stupid comment. 16 million is from the reuploaded movie alone, to think that the first video was only watched 115 times leading up to the attack….is so astoundingly stupid I can’t comprehend it. I went to it the day after and it was around 40k.
RBS…… could you please pinpoint me to this information. Like I said before 9 -11…… not a day or two after. From the news that was reported is was between 400 to 500 hundred.
‘Lockup’ on Friday night beat every MSNBC weekday shows in the demo except for the primetime edition of ‘Maddow’ on Monday. A couple of ‘Lockup’ on Saturday also beat every ‘Ed’, ‘Lawrence’, ‘Matthews’ and ‘Sharpton’ on the week. MSNBC should keep ‘Maddow’ and replace all other shows with ‘Lockup’.

I don’t endorse that it was viewed 155 times as Bsotgnw suggests, though I do read Bsotgnw’s post to be cynical, thus exaggerated for humor’s sake. However, I also don’t endorse that the views were anything near 16 million prior to the attacks even though they may be now.
I have read/heard that prior to the attacks, there were only 2 or 3 uploads of the video on YouTube, the one with the most hits having less than a thousand views. I don’t know this to be fact, and don’t really care; what’s more important to me is the idiocy in trying to blame a stupid video for murder. When I first heard about this video on 9/11/2012, on that day I had difficulty finding it on YouTube, and once I found a couple uploads by hyperlinking to YouTube from other sites, I remember there were only a couple thousand views on one and around couple hundred thousand views on the other. I don’t know anything about viewership of re-posts on Al Jazeera or whatever, but the Obama team originally referred to it as a ‘YouTube’ video.
My response to ninja (Posted November 27, 2012 at 8:32 PM ) was more motivated by being baffled as to how you can take literally an obviously cynical post; and then offer as rebuttal that there are 16 million views now as if that’s proof the number of views would be anything near that two and half months ago. And then you ask him/her if he/she is smoking something.

approximately 20%, 0.2 * 314 million = 62.8 million

approximately 47%, 0.47 * 62.8 million = 29.5 million
Not too hard to imagine that if I clicked away on 9/11/2012, so did 16 million others since then.
^ Oops, for population late teen or younger, 20%, so that would make late teen or older, 80%. This only serves to make the number of likely clickers bigger.
