What is it in the water at the Two and a Half Men set that makes its actors bite the hands that pay them millions of dollars a year?
While it's amusing to see yet another highly paid actor misplace his marbles, it's probably irrelevant to the future of the show. TAAHM is CBS' #2 rated show this season, and they'll pull out all the stops to keep it on the air, that's why it will remain "certain to be renewed". As always, my predictions do not attempt to take into account the showrunner or producer deciding "to heck with these whackjob actors, I'm done!" and walk away from his own pile of money. Insistent commenters are free to do so, of course.
CBS has debuted three new dramas every Fall since 2006-7. I'd expect them to do the same next Fall. So unless they have some schedule wizardry up their sleeves I haven't seen before (holding back Undercover Boss won't help!) they'll need to cancel three of their Fall 2012 dramas to make room for three more next Fall. With Made In Jersey gone, and Vegas a likely cancellation, that means one more Fall drama must go. It's virtually certain that CBS will cancel one of CSI:NY, The Good Wife, or The Mentalist. And if spring drama Golden Boy is renewed, two from that list will need to be canceled.
Why are Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods "certain to be renewed"? Both dramas are in their third seasons and need a fourth to reach the "magic" 88 episodes for stripped syndication. Both are "certain to be renewed" for their fourth seasons next year. Read more about that here.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.
** The Renew/Cancel Index does not attempt to predict shows ending because the cast or production company chooses to end them. These shows have the ratings for renewal, but rumored cast/production company moves may end the shows.
Notes:
-
- certain to be cancelled by May, 2013 -
- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2013 -
- toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2013 -
- more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2013 -
- certain to be renewed by May, 2013
The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

@Fake Me Out
I have the same concerns. On another site, several people were saying “Good for him, he found God.” I answered: “But he didn’t find God, he found the Forerunner.” And the Forerunner sounds like bad news.
NOBODY watches 2.5 Men for that idiot Angus. Write him off and keep it moving. Getting another actor to replace him will only keep this show in the press and people interested.
I admire A. Jones for finally coming to his senses and voicing his opinion about 2.5 Men. It’s been a non-stop parade of disgusting, low-rent sex jokes since the first season and it was only tolerable because of Sheen’s comedic talent (personal life aside). It will be interesting to see if Jones’ religious interest is a long-term one or not and if he’ll find work in the incestuous and corrupt TV industry. CBS leads the ratings race now, but it’s only due to the sleazy garbage (2 Broke Girls, 2.5 Men, etc.) that they broadcast.
i have been meaning to ask this..I’m new to this whole t.v ratings thing & just finding out about ‘Syndication’ < even tho i am still not 100% shore what it means but can't 'The Good Wife' 'The Mentalist' get Syndication?
Hmm our ratings are not what they once were and that whole Sheen tantrum sure paid off last year, so cue the next made to order controversy. Next season its called 2 Men, maybe he just hates being a half?
The “E True Hollywood Story” for Two and a Half Men, whenever they get around to making one (and you know they will) will be epic I tell ya. EPIC!
Crazy Actor stops merry-go-round. Next week perhaps.
Place keep csiny big fan of it.
Two and One Half Men to be renamed Two Men and One Half Loon. This show seems to thrive on controversy so will the ratings go even higher than Charlie Sheen on meth bender? Did Angus find Jesus or did he find he needed some PR for his stalled career as something lower than third banana in a highly successful comedy? Just sayin…this is Hollywood where any publicity is good publicity for one’s career.
Maybe Angus should meet with Chevy Chase to plot their futures in comedy. There must be a sitcom in their future. Wherever Chevy and Angus go, hilarity is sure to follow.
correct me if im wrong but shouldnt The Mentalist have an edge of those shows? as its in its fifth season already shouldnt adding more episodes be goo even when in syndication.. where as i dont believe good wife has been sold to syndication..
This is what i predict for cancelation (Includes already canceled)…
Made In Jersey
Vegas
Golden Boy
CSI NY (or maby they’ll renew it for short summer seasons to air along Unforgettable)
Also I think if not CSI NY then Good wife (though i do think theyll at least make next season the announced final season
@TeeVeeViewer
It’s one thing to not like sex jokes, it’s another to say it’s the work of The Enemy. (Presumably Satan.)
“Watch out, just watch out… [because] a lot of people don’t like to think about how deceptive the enemy is. He’s been doing this for a lot longer than any of us have been around. So, we can’t play around. There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity.”
That doesn’t sound like he has “come to his senses” to me. Especially the way he worships the Forerunner. “In his videos, Jones says he has accepted the Seventh Day, and feels star-struck by Hudson. “I’m like, ‘Dang, man of God, Forerunner, right here. I can touch him, I can give him a hug…’”
@Michael,
Why would The Mentalist being in syndication give it an edge over CSI: NY, which is also in syndication?
Also, CBS doesn’t get any of the money from The Mentalist’s syndication deal like they do with CSI: NY and would for The Good Wife. The WB gets that money. Of course, that could prompt the WB to lower the licensing fee, which could help keep it on the air.

TAHM is ending:
Angus T. Jones Not Due Back On ‘Two And A Half Men’ Set Until 2013
Jones, like co-stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer, has no contract for the series beyond this year, which is Men’s 10th season.
If HIMYM end too CBS will be in big trouble. Will run a lot if TBBT reruns.
I think Two and a Half Men should go into “Final Season” status this year or next year. CBS hasn’t had a show wrap up its run since “The King of Queens” in 2007 and “Medium” in 2011.
@HOLLY
Why would The Mentalist being in syndication give it an edge over CSI: NY, which is also in syndication?
I figure because it get better ratings
Why is vegas under certain cancellation the numbers are near 10 million what am i missing?
@ AnthonyMule
Why is vegas under certain cancellation the numbers are near 10 million what am i missing?
For starters, you’re missing the fact it isn’t listed under certain cancellation.
Why is Angus considered a “whack job actor” for expressing his religious beliefs! I thought this was America, where people are supposedly free to express their beliefs.
