11/28 Update: The Mob Doctor has been canceled.
-
Ben & Kate's prediction was changed to "certain to be canceled" last week, but Glee usurped the headline. Now it gets its rightful place.
Unless last week's rating was a complete fluke, The Mindy Project is going to drop to "likely canceled" next week. Stay tuned.
Two years ago when Fox's Lone Star, "Lone Star'd" its premiere rating (1.3) it was yanked after its second episode (which had a 1.0). This season, The Mob Doctor has been nearly as woeful and yet looks like it will air most or all of its 13 episode order before vanishing.
Raising Hope is predicted as "certain to be renewed" even with its somewhat weak early ratings. While the syndication gods ruling Fox aren't quite as predictable as those ruling CBS, it would take nothing short of a cataclysm to prevent the show from getting a fourth season. Read more about it here.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.
Notes:
-
- certain to be cancelled by May, 2013 -
- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2013 -
- toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2013 -
- more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2013 -
- certain to be renewed by May, 2013
The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

I’m a Raising Hope fan and once it ends I stick around to watch Ben&Kate and I gotta say it has never caught on with me. I won’t miss it.
@Oliver- If Fox believes The Goodwin Games is bad, why did they pick it up?? I swear, they deserve to be in last place.

I agree with Joe’s idea. Let Goodwin Games air after New Girl and then move Mindy to B&K’s slot to get eaten by the bear.
@Oliver- “In terms of Nielsen rankings, New Girl did better last season than Married With Children ever did. For some reason, people assume Married With Children was a much bigger hit than it actually was.”
How do you figure?? New Girl’s average was in the 3′s last year at best. Married With Children in it’s prime was drawing 5′s. Not to mention total viewers in which MWC completely dominates NG.
I’ll he a little disappointed if The Mob Doctor gets cancelled. I know it’s not that good, but the story has pocked up some and the show has grown on me. It looks like it’ll get the ax though and be food for the cancellation bear :/

Oops! That reminds me that I need to edit this post.
Fox Tuesdays next season should be Glee, New Girl, and then a new comedy. That will guarantee Fox some hits then as all three will build on each other’s audience, or at least keep each other afloat.
Man… what happened to Fox? I used to watch several shows on this network… now my only one is in its final season
Why is Ben and Kate certain to be cancelled and Midy a toss up? Are the ratings between the two that vastly different? Neither have been anywhere close to a 2.0
@ nick , really glee 12 final season?…….. right.
A shame, Mindy is so much worse and it’s much better than the other single mom with kid and support team comedy the new normal.
@LoriB196
“FOX should just go ahead and renew Bones…”
I really wish that would happen, especially after Monday’s numbers, but it won’t. The earliest I could see is March/April, like last time, but that’s only if basically everything new in the spring flops.
_____________
Speaking of this week’s episode, I really hope it doesn’t bring “Ghost” down Monday since it was a filler episode, IMO.
A shame because I have just started finding it funny, especially the
“British” girl, she is a hoot!
Gee, I’m glad Two and A Half Men will probably get renewed for a 215th season, while far superiors comedies like Ben and Kate, Happy Endings and Mindy Project all suffer from low ratings, on the verge of cancellation.
That just makes my day.
@KJ Styles
You can’t compare historical ratings directly due to ratings erosion to cable.
You can, however, directly compare Nielsen rankings (i.e where shows performed relative to other broadcast shows) and New Girl’s first season ranked higher than MWC ever did.
“Why is Ben and Kate certain to be cancelled and Midy a toss up? Are the ratings between the two that vastly different? Neither have been anywhere close to a 2.0″
Mindy’s ratings average is 22% higher than B&K’s. That’s more than sufficiently different to give them different predictions.
@jessica
@ nick , really glee 12 final season?
Yes. I think Fox needs to start getting rid of old, failing shows. It’s either a half season on Thursdays or a full season on Fridays.

Personally, I think you should take into consideration the fact that Tuesday Mindy got a 1.5 and B&K got a 1.4!!
