   @Nathan–I think if this was what everybody wanted, we’d be seeing much higher ratings–maybe some iCarly viewers actually didn’t want to see it end. Maybe closure is overrated.

   For syndication purposes, series that have no closure famously do better than shows that do. People always bring up Gilligan’s Island and The Fugitive–the former stayed in syndication constantly UNTIL they did the crappy TV movies that finished the story. The Fugitive ended the quest of Richard Kimble, and nobody wanted to watch The Fugitive after that (except the Harrison Ford movie).

   The first two Star Trek series never gave us any closure–the first one just ended, Next Generation kind of summed things up but left everything as we’d want to remember it (then they ruined it in the final Next Generation movie, which tanked at the box office). The next few shows gave us closure, and nobody watches them anymore. The ones we want to see over and over are the ones with no closure.

   Yes, SOME shows need it–but most don’t. So stop it already with the closure.

   I think with iCarly’s finale, it all came down to people believing the predictions – i read some thought it’d get 8 or 9 million. 6.4 is good – very respectable.

   @Jon Check the Daily ratings. SpongeBob gets over 3 million viewers every day. Even here, the SpongeBob Movie scored 3.2 million viewers. I guess you have a point with Timmy’s Secret Wish. Although, I think it was a fluke, When L.O.S.E.R.S. Attack aired it scored 3.1 million viewers.
