Did Mickie just call Justin Beiber the new King of Pop ……
TWD is going to reach 15million viewers by eithers its mid season finale or season finale && a 6.0 and higher demo. I know broadcast tv is saying thank God for the Superbowl cause that’s there only monster hit.
Get over it. Dexter is a monster hit. You simply can not compare it to Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, or any broadcast show. A show is defined as a “hit” or not when you compare it to the ratings of other show on its network. Dexter gets better ratings than any show currently on Showtime. That’s a monster hit.
Nick, please give us ratings for TMNT. Thanks!
Hoping atleast 2.8 million.
Dexter is a monster hit when you take into account that it’s on PREMIUM cable. You simply cannot compare it to TWD in terms of viewership.
@Mary, zombies are only part of the whole. There is much more to this show than killing zombies. TWD is simply a phenom in a era where people are tired of night time soap opera’s, procedural’s and cookie cutter television. The same plots, formula, script, villains and hero’s on most shows, just different actors playing the parts. Look at the absolute highest rated shows. They are becoming the norm while everything else is becoming mundane. I love television for entertainment so I watch my fair share of guilty pleasure TV but TWD is simply a pleasure.
On that note, I am so excited for next week! Rick, Daryl vs The Governor and Merle.
Justin Beiber. King of Pop? I think I just gagged a little.
Lol this show is killing . Love it !!!!
After next week’s midseason finale, does anybody know when The Walking Dead will return? One of the tweets I read during the 10 pm airing said April.
@ Chris, IMDb is showing the return in Feb.
nick can we also have te ratings/viewings for ben 10 and stat wars the clone wars on cartoon network. thanks
I prefer TWD as the cable getting this huge ratings than during the days Jershey Shore was making ratings noise
I do have to wonder if TWD owes its high ratings more to zombie slashing or good storytelling. Sure it is a combination for both, but I somehow refuse to believe that people will jump on a show like TWD purely on quality.
I also raise the same questions on shows like Game of Thrones, where I know it is highly acclaimed, but if some of the audience just simply takes that as a substitute for pornography.
Not doubting their status as hits or as quality shows, but I am just questioning the claim that many assert that quality shows can still garner viewers. Maybe quality must come along with a hook, though I think the hook here in both cases seem to be quite unflattering.
Yay, The Walking Dead continues to kick butt and take names! What a great episode! Next week promises to be epic!
The Walking Dead is overrated. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good show but it’s not the best show on TV. I’d personally take Breaking Bad, Dexter, and NCIS over it easily.
I bet that TWD hits 6.0 or higher next week.
Boardwalk Empire was amazing it’s going to be an epic finale best show on tv right now imo.
NCIS? You might as well name any tedious procedural that we have seen a million times before. RME. Talking about quality is rubbish. All that matters is if a large number of people find a show entertaining and right now, The Walking Dead is ruling all scripted programming. If you don’t like it don’t complain about it, just don’t watch it.
What were the ratings for the new episode of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, “A Necessary Bond”, when it aired on Cartoon Network on Saturday?
TWD is simply a phenom in a era where people are tired of night time soap opera’s, procedural’s and cookie cutter television. The same plots, formula, script, villains and hero’s on most shows, just different actors playing the parts.
Hear, hear!!! Why people don’t get this simple concept? On broadcast tv there isn’t even a different execution of the same idea/plot. That alone would already be an improvement.
While I despised most of them, when they firstly aired, GA, DH and Lost were somewhat different for the landscape of that time, at least they added some twists (like placing a teen soap in a hospital and adding the music video effect with songs, which I personally HATE though)
Now, in the last few years what we had? Spin-off of procedurals, remake of procedurals, another will they/won’t they when there is still another one of the air, Lost wannabes, DH’s wannabes, GA’s wannabes. Nothing more. Not one original idea or character or reality to describe.
forget 6.0 and 15 million. 80 million and 62.3 rating for each episode for the walking dead. it could happen. cause its the greatest show in the history of shows. no one has ever written so eloquently about the plight of the zombie like the writers of the walking dead. its so good they made a show where random celebrities call into a show to talk about the walking dead. did they do that with hardcastle and McCormick?. no. why?. because its no walking dead. long live the dead.
