Fox does NOT have the Super Bowl this year, so New Girl cannot possibly get a boost from it (CBS is airing Elementary after the Super Bowl in Feb. 2013).
Clearly people are making a conscious decision to tune out of TNN and back to Parenthood, I know I do. Just look at how each week TNN is lower than Parenthood, it’s just not good
I was referring to 2014 since Elementary was announce and fox has it that year.
New girl will get the post Superbowl slot in 2014
I don’t know what all the people bashing Ben and Kate want FOX to do. There’s nothing on their bench that could do better than it’s doing now (not saying this to say it’ll get renewed, just as a matter of fact).
Do you flip Mindy Project and B&K? Both are unestablished, and Mindy is less conpatible with Hope.
Do you bring Glee back? Not when The Voice is there. Besides, what goes on Thursdays @ 9 then?
Do you put in something else there? What?
@Jake By FOX standards New Girl is still a hit. It’s the number 1 scripted live action show on the network. If you think New Girl is no longer doing well you are sadly mistaken.
@Kate
This week, it looks like “New Girl” slips to Fox’s #2 scripted show since “Bones” has beat it for the week. Keeping it in the family, I guess.
@Kate
But it clearly is not what it used to be. Is was getting 4′s or high 3′s at worst by this time last season, no?
@Wendy I was talking over all from the Renew/Cancel index but the fact that he said it was no longer a “hit” shows he knows nothing about the networks over all ratings this season. Deschanels are apparently great for ratings
@ABC hater but no comedy I can think of retains its entire audience durings its sophomore season. but you are correct. It’s ratings slipped, which is why Go On fans are getting a little to comfortable too soon.
@Eridapo
Because I’m a bitch?
Just kidding, I just don’t think fans mirror viewers.
abc hater “it clearly is not what it used to be. Is was getting 4?s or high 3?s at worst by this time last season, no?” WRONG!!
Most of those viewers prefer to watch it NOT LIVE , which is why it does great on live 3
New girl just needs the post superbowl slot so it could get more viewers.
@kate which is why Go On fans are getting a little to comfortable too soon.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! go on is screwed Once the voice ends, there’s no way getting around that.
good luck with Betty White’s Off Their Rockers as a lead in goon fans HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sure it would be better if GO ON was paired up with GWK. Guys With Kids should have been aired after GO ON!! It could’ve garnered more than 500m!!!
Was it announced that New Girl would get the post superbowl slot in 2014 or is it just assumed?
@jenny You are correct
“Was it announced that New Girl would get the post superbowl slot in 2014 or is it just assumed?”
No announcement. And as for that “assumption”, your mileage may vary.
@Bill I thought FOX announced it…? Guess this shows to not believe everything you read on the internet.
“@Bill I thought FOX announced it…? Guess this shows to not believe everything you read on the internet.”
No network announces anything about the *next* Super Bowl until after the current Super Bowl is in the rear view mirror.
@Bill Gotcha! Thanks for the clarification!
