Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

    Angus T Apologizes for his remarks in the USA TODAY!

  • ccc

    @Rockmypants

    I know, I am just saying if it could get a better lead-in I think it could attract new viewers. The show is so amazing right now and I think bring in new people if people were led into it

  • grant

    IMO that is not ”soaring” for the voice. When I saw that I figured highs 4s low 5s.

  • Oliver

    @Charlotte Always

    Really? That’s unusual because NBC actually schedules The Voice to run until 9:01. First time for everything, I guess.

  • Bad Wolf

    @RJ

    To overrate : to overestimate the merits of, to rate too highly, to give something more credit than it’s actually worth…
    I’d say overrated is used to describe a show which is bad/average but still gets a lot of hype or is massively watched nevertheless. I must admit that I don’t see what is so outstanding about NCIS to attract so much viewers, but it’s very subjective.

  • Just My Opinion

    The Voice soars? NCIS beat it by over 8 million total viewers and NCIS almost beat it in the 18-49 demo. Your bias is so obvious!

  • Samunto

    @Kate
    Do you honestly think Glee stood a chance up against The Voice had it stayed on Tuesdays? No i don’t think so.

  • CrimTV

    Are ABC actually ever going to announce their mid-season schedule. In fact, CBS haven’t announced when Golden Boy, Friend Me and Rules of Engagement will premiere, Fox hasn’t announced anything about Goodwin Games’ premiere date and CW hasn’t announced Cult’s premiere date/timeslot. Come on networks! They need to announce them so they can begin to promote!

  • JLB

    So it’s safe to assume Emily Owens will be cancelled? =( Last nights episode was the best so far. It had some well needed character development and good storylines.

  • eridapo

    Too bad about Vegas. I’m starting to like the show. The look and feel of the sixties is quite nice, and the woman on the show are hot ;) . The producers need to decide on what aspect of the show to focus on in the future” “murder of the week” or “mafia” aspects.

  • Oliver

    @Bill Gorman

    Is there a rational person out there predicting it will be pulled?

    Canceled at the end of the season, certainly. But pulled? I don’t think so.

    It was a response to Peter Ivanov above… so I guess you’re right and I should know better.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @Canceled at the end of the season, certainly. But pulled? I don’t think so.

    What about moved from there. FOX still have one more comedy and this one hurt their best sitcom with 99,99%. When CBS moved Partners 2BG ratings are so much UP for 2 weeks only.

  • s0303

    @ just my opinion…try reading the title again…it say ncis and the voice soars…how is that biased?

  • Damo

    Glad all my favourite shows perked up in the ratings

    @Crim TV

    They still have the holiday season to promote so it shouldn’t be long but no need to fuss about it but are you going to actually watch any of them at all

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

    “So it’s safe to assume Emily Owens will be cancelled?”

    That’s been safe to assume for over a month.

  • JJ

    Is Hart of Dixie looking likely to get cancelled now an 0.5 two weeks in a row isn’t good…

    I hope it manages to go up next week its my guilty pleasure.

  • r0ckmypants

    @ccc – I think for a show this late in its run, which has had multiple lead-ins of varying success levels, that having a higher rated lead-in now wouldn’t make much different. It’s hovered around this same rating for a while now.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

    “What about moved from there. FOX still have one more comedy and this one hurt their best sitcom with 99,99%. When CBS moved Partners 2BG ratings are so much UP for 2 weeks only.”

    I’m pretty sure that the number of Ben & Kate episodes ordered + the number of Goodwin Games episodes ordered will fill that timeslot through the end of the season, but since Fox isn’t paying me to schedule for them I can’t lay it out for you.

    While your definition may vary, pulled = taken off the schedule with episodes remaining, for me.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @ In fact, CBS haven’t announced when Golden Boy, Friend Me and Rules of Engagement will premiere

    All new CBS shows collapse this season. I guess they want to wait as much as possible for this one most of tham are 7 episodes i guess. Better for CBS to rerun TBBT at one of their best slots monday 8:30. Partnesr was their best new sitcom. Rules and friend me will not be even close to TBBT rerins. Friend me will collapse after pilot and rules will be around 2.0-2.3.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ DW

    Mamie Gummer can go back to TGW. EOMD only has a 12-ep order & TGW 22-24.
