Rachel and Lawrence are on FIRE!!!
-Rachel destroys Hannity in the key demo.
-Lawrence annihilates Greta in the key demo.
-Ed beats O’Reilly again in the 11PM key demo slot
-MSNBC dominates the Primetime key demo again.
This is getting to be the norm nowadays.
MSNBC is doing terrific. Ed even beat Billo in the repeat. I think when conservatives saw how much Fox was lying to them after the election, some of them stopped watching the network. It was even obvious to die hard conservatives. When you have the network and their conservative polls saying they will win easily and then they get destroyed on election day, it looks bad. MSNBC is a liberal network but they don’t lie to support they views. Fox makes things up.
Hannity can barely break 2 million viewers…..he was over 3 million not too long ago. Do I smell another Glenn Beck? Meh, not really, Glenn Beck lost his job because he was starting to get under 1 million AND was losing ads.
At another site, possibly Mediaite, they made fun of the Faux Right-Wing Propaganda Networks new “Breaking News” video and sounder. It appeared to startle Megyn Kelly, who described it as “scary”. I commented that the powers-that-be at the FRWPN are perhaps beginning to get the shakes while they observe how MSNBC is encroaching on their ratings. (Not million-plus total viewers for either showiing of “Hardball”. Pourquoi?)
In terms of Fox vs MSNBC
Fox ratings seemed to level off where they were pre election
Bill O ~ 2.8-3.1M
Hannity ~ 1.7-2M
Greta ~ 1.6-1.9
On the flip side MSNBC seems to have a slight post election bump
Ed ~ 800k-1M
Rachel 900k-1.1M
Larry 800k-1M
Personally I would love to see the ratings for people aged 18-25 and 65+ for both networks
It seems that FNC is shedding younger viewers. I haven’t tuned in lately…end of the semester finals for me. Has anything significant happened?
Jeff Zucker, former NBC Chief is taking over for CNN. I wonder if he will make them partisan like MSNBC and FNC. Any thoughts?
What’s even more amazing is that The Ed show is actually closing the key demo gap with O’Reilly in the 8PM slot.
@Sara Bibel
Are stats available for 18-29, 18-34, or 18-39. Also, do you keep stats for 65+. Mark has made me curious.
Thanks.
MSNBC will dominate forever now……the country has changed and the things the MSNBC host talk about and the views they have are agreed with the large majority of Americans. FNC is pretty much done due to the partisan positions…..while MSNBC soars with a diversity of view points…..
Mark, spin it all you want. It’s time to face the facts. The gap between FNC and MSNBC in total viewers and in the all-important demos in particular (which are what ad rates are based upon) have narrowed considerably over the past few months. This trend started long before Election night.
Fox’s credibility (or lack thereof) has definitely had a negative impact on their ratings, no doubt about it.
WOW! msnbc has consistenly beaten Fox News since the election in key demo, Fox is tanking still! The usual rePUBS aren’t here to give their spin and stir of conspiracy theories. Seems the Fox lies have really deflated the whack balloons on the right.
Morning Joe, Rev. Al, has them in their sites, even Big Ed has gained on Bill-O, Rachel & Lawrence are kicking AZZ!
@Lance
I am not spinning things, I am just saying Fox ratings are basically on par with what they were from Jan-Aug, while MSNBC’s have a slight bump. Will things stay that way? time will tell but to say Fox has lost viewership compared to how they were pre-election(Sept-Nov) time is false
I am no fan of Fox or a Fox apologist, I am just calling it as I see it. Simple fact is as long as Fox is the only station that provides a right wing point of view it will most likely continue to have the highest ratings amongst all cable networks. At it’s best they get 3M viewer(O Reilly) and that is less then 1% of the US population, simple fact is their will always be somebody who will subscribe to that kind of news
If somebody wants to see Fox News viewership take a hit we need another right wing slanted network to eat into some of it’s viewership
Even Al Sharpton’s show has closed the gap significantly in the 25-54 demo. I think he won once in the past week but to be within a striking distance consistently, says a lot of how much stronger MSNBC has become and to a lesser extent a weaker FOX line up.
msnbc is all takers and fox is makers. fox viewers have jobs. demos prove it the kids are staying up late while there parents go to bed so they can wake up and go to work.
LONDON — Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers and other British media were reckless in the pursuit of sensational stories “almost irrespective of the harm” caused, according to a major report on Britain’s phone-hacking scandal.
The findings of the year-long Leveson Inquiry criticized a “failure of systems of management and compliance” at Murdoch’s News of the World (NoTW) tabloid, which was closed down as the full extent of their illegal actions became clear.
Lord Justice Leveson said if Murdoch and his son James did not know about the extent of phone-hacking at the paper, then there had been a “determined cover-up” by unidentified staff.
And if they had known then the Murdochs should have done something about it, he said. However, the judge added there was no evidence from which he could “safely infer” that Rupert Murdoch was aware of a wider problem.
The report is being watched by American lawmakers amid concerns that U.S. laws may have been broken.
Now it’s time to focus on Fox News and their similar illegal practices of hacking (every definition of hacking that is) hack reporters hack stories, lol! going on over at NewsCorp.
25 to 35 watch msnbc because they hate the rich and dont want to work EVER
The war against intelligence continues with the dim, dems…. They proved, in the last election, that campaigning to THE STUPID works…. Who would have thought that Ms Fluck, and Julia would be anything except laughing matters, but the women proved they can lead THE STUPID PARADE…. Repubs are against women and birth control so vote for the dim, dems…..
WTF Sara are you censoring me? I posted two comments that were not posted.Ill try again Mark you are delusional MSNBC is steadily uptickin Fox is on downward trnd these ARE FACTS! something you bubble dwellers dont like.Don you are a bigger idiot Fox main demo is retired old er and they are taking Social Sercurity Medicare. The income per msnbc verses Fox viewers Id presume to say is a landslide for MSNBC.Young urban proffesionals, union workers an the like are the core viewers Im sure they rake in more then the monthly ss checkks from the scared sad old foggies watching Faux news
Hannity continues to collapse… this is gotta be crushing !
Maddow exposed by evidence why the righties are witch hunting against rice, that’s why Maddow is the best.
