Will 'The Big Bang Theory' Deliver Record Ratings Tonight? - Poll

No series has been bigger this season than The Big Bang Theory. Its most recent new episode on November 15 earned a huge season high 5.7 adults 18-49 rating, up from a 5.1 for the prior week. With lots of shows posting ratings gains this week, it's possible the show's ratings could surge even higher tonight. Or they could fall back down to earth. Make your predictions below and remember that the show is often adjusted upward in the final ratings.

“I think this show sucks but it’s nice to see a show get such high ratings in this day and age. I went with 6.0+ just because..”

That about sums up my feelings as well. I’ve tried several times to watch it and think its just horrendous, but am happy to see some shows still able to thrive in this television climate.

  • BG

    I’m going to guess 5.7-5.8

  • Californiadgd

    I love TBBT, but 5.7-5.8 I hope 6.0 >

  • Justin121

    6.1-6.3.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. On the day The Big Bang Theory gets renewed for its 100th season, all the actors will be given a new contract which states that if they die before the series ends, their families will be fined. That’ll also be the day the world’s population hits the 100 trillion mark, 2 billion of which will likely be watching The Big Bang Theory.
    I called it, man.

  • Flame

Even the lowest choice of 4.7 would be great. I’m going with a conservative 5.3, but always happy to see more.

The football game kickoff is right after Big Bang Theory ends in the Eastern and Central time zones. Smart people will know they can watch both. Most people won’t, but I digress.

My favourite show of the TV season so far so I’d love for it to go bigger but I’m not seeing it for this episode, might match the 5.7 season high but no more. (Then again, I was also expecting TWD to premiere down)

  • ForceChoke

I have The Walking Dead at an average of 5.3 A18-49 for the season, with a peak of a 5.8. I have The Big Bang Theory at a 5.0 A18-49 average for the season, with 5.7 peak. There are many ways to measure success, but in my book, the statement “No series has been bigger this season than The Big Bang Theory” is only accurate if you count broadcast television exclusively.

@Bill – Here’s a poll, will Two and a Half Men’s numbers go up because of Angus T. Jones’s recent comments. It holds up pretty decently after Big Bang however one has to wonder if the numbers will go up or down or if it will have no effect at all.

  • Kyle

LOVE the The Big Bang Theory but I can see it buck the trend and actually decline.

I am predicting a 5.4 which is STILL HUGE

  • Petar Ivanov

    CBS super thursday – ACTION!!!!

With Heart of Courage i will project:

    TBBT 6.0

    TAHM 4.5

    POI 3.5

    Elementary 2.5

I just don’t get the appeal of this show. I’m glad so many people are watching but when I’ve tried I don’t find the first thing remotely funny and the audience is just dying with laughter. One of the characters can just walk into the scene and say “Hi”, and the audience just screams with hysteria. ????

  • brutony

I cant understand WHY, after all these years, that the elevator STILL doesnt work! And why would Penny, a waitress, be able to afford the same kind of apt that Sheldon and Leonard could? What else is she doing on the side?

  • Ultima

    @Joe
Just curious, what was the last show (excluding post-Super Bowl) to get an 18-49 rating of 6.0 or higher?

    @were123
Last season’s premiere of Modern Family

    Incorrect.

Two and a Half Men had 10.7, 7.4 and 6.2 for its first three episodes last season (and all but the premiere aired after Modern Family’s premeire).

That’s only scripted shows of course – obviously sports, special events and Idol/Voice have hit 6.0+ since then.

TBBT is funny all over the world not just USA. Like Friends was hit all over the world. For example MF is funny ONLY in US and very few other contries. In Europe is big flop.

  • Mike

@brutony There was an episode about why the elevator doesn’t work.

  • Fed

@Petar to oppose you here in BG i have many friends that like Modern Family a lot more than BBT. In fact i think i don’t know anyone that likes that show :)

  • Pepper

This week has been good in ratings, so I’m guessing it’ll be between 5.8-6.0, but I would be surprised if it went over a 6.0

  • Californiadgd

I’m from BG too, but much more people like TBBT than MF…I love both shows but, just sayin’

    TBBT: 5.8
    TAAHM: 4.2
    POI: 3.2
    Elementary: 2.3
