CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, Nov. 25, placing first in households, viewers and adults 25-54 (tied with NBC). The CBS broadcast posted a 2.3/06 in households, 3.26m viewers and 0.8/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 45% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +15% in both households (from 2.0/05) and viewers (from 2.82m) and +14% in adults 25-54 (from 0.7/03).
Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +15% in both households (2.3/06 from 2.0/05) and viewers (3.22m from 2.81m) and is even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.22m), households (2.3/06, tied with NBC) and adults 25-54 (0.8/03, tied with NBC) among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
On the broadcast, CBS News Correspondent Holly Williams reported from Cairo on the violent protests that broke out after Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi declared more power for himself. Bob Schieffer hosted a roundtable discussion with authors and presidential historians Doris Kearns Goodwin, Bob Woodward, Evan Thomas and Jon Meacham. Schieffer also hosted a discussion with fiction writers David Baldacci, Alex Stone, Gillian Flynn and Chris Payone.
