NBC WILL DEBUT NEW DRAMA ‘Do No Harm’ ON JANUARY 31 ON SAME NIGHT AS SERIES FINALE OF '30 Rock'
“Rock Center with Brian Williams” Will Move to Fridays Beginning February 8 (10-11 p.m. ET) Following “Dateline NBC”
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – November 30, 2012 – NBC will premiere the new drama “Do No Harm” on Thursday, January 31 (10-11 p.m. ET) following the hour-long series finale of the Emmy Award-winning “30 Rock” (8-9 p.m. ET) earlier that same night. In addition, “Rock Center with Brian Williams” will move to Fridays beginning February 8 (10-11 p.m. ET) following “Dateline NBC” (9-10 p.m. ET).
The announcements were made today by Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.
“January 31 will be a special night as one classic series will mark its finale with a great hour-long sendoff episode while a promising new drama will make its debut on Thursdays,” said Greenblatt. “‘30 Rock’ is acclaimed as a legendary comedy and we will see a truly memorable and fitting last episode. In ‘Do No Harm,’ viewers will have a unique new dramatic storyline with an exciting new star in Steven Pasquale that takes them into dark and uncharted territory.”
Details of the finale of “30 Rock” will be provided later.
“Grimm” will return to the schedule on Friday, March 8 (9-10 p.m. ET).
In “Do No Harm,” Dr. Jason Cole (Steven Pasquale, "Rescue Me") is a highly respected neurosurgeon who has it all – a lucrative career, confident charm, the gift of compassion. But he also has a deep, dark secret. One morning when he wakes up disoriented in a wrecked hotel room amidst several near-naked women he's never seen before, he knows one thing: it's happening again. Every night at the same hour, something inside Jason changes, leaving him almost unrecognizable – seductive, devious, borderline sociopathic.
This new man is his dangerous alternate personality who goes by the name of “Ian Price.” For years he's battled Ian, keeping him in check with a powerful experimental sedative. But now his – their – body has developed a resistance to the serum, setting Ian free once again. And to make matters worse, after being suppressed for so long, Ian's hell-bent on taking revenge on his oppressor. With everyone Jason cares about at risk – patients, friends, co-workers and even the woman he loves – he's got to stop Ian once and for all. Will they find some common ground, or will they bring each other down? Hell hath no fury like an alter ego scorned.
Also starring are Alana De La Garza ("Law & Order"), Michael Esper ("A Beautiful Mind"), Ruta Gedmintas ("The Borgias") and Phylicia Rashad ("The Cosby Show"). "Do No Harm" is produced by Universal Television and Traugott Company. The executive producer/writer is David Schulner ("Desperate Housewives," "The Event"). Peter Traugott ("Ringer") and Rachel Kaplan ("Ringer") also are executive producers. Michael Mayer (NBC's "Smash") is the co-executive producer and director.
In its seventh season, the critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning comedy series "30 Rock" is told through the comedic voice of Emmy and two-time Golden Globe winner Tina Fey as variety show producer Liz Lemon. The series also features two-time Emmy and three-time Golden Globe winner Alec Baldwin as top network executive Jack Donaghy and Emmy nominee Tracy Morgan as Tracy Jordan, the unpredictable star of Lemon’s variety show, "TGS with Tracy Jordan." Lemon constantly has her hands full, juggling corporate interference from Donaghy and off-the-handle star antics from Jordan, all while attempting to salvage her own personal life. Also rounding out the cast are three-time Emmy nominee Jane Krakowski as Jenna Maroney, the co-star of "TGS"; Scott Adsit as the variety show's producer Pete Hornberger; Emmy nominee Jack McBrayer as Kenneth, the over-eager NBC page; Judah Friedlander as Frank, the sardonic slacker on the writing staff; and Keith Powell as Toofer, the sophisticated yet sarcastic writer.
Overall, "30 Rock" has garnered 90 Emmy nominations, resulting in 14 wins. In 2009, the show won its third consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series and also held the record for most comedy program Emmy nominations in a single year with 22 nominations. "30 Rock" has also won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical, a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, three Producers Guild Danny Thomas Producer of the Year Awards in Comedy Episodic Television and three Writers Guild Awards (WGA) for Writing for a Comedy Series and three WGA Awards for Episodic Comedy, among others.
"30 Rock" is from Broadway Video & Little Stranger, Inc. in association with Universal Television. The executive producers are Lorne Michaels ("Saturday Night Live"), Tina Fey, David Miner, Marci Klein ("Saturday Night Live"), Robert Carlock ("Friends"), Jeff Richmond and Jack Burditt.

Awake 2.0? Methinks.
Ah, I miss Awake. I really enjoyed it
Grimm not returning until March? Yikes.
Lol someone literally just said this in the Thursday ratings post.
Now NBC announce this!
Tuesday (Jan-End of March)
08:00 – Betty White’s Off Their Rockers
09:00 – Go On (Get these comedies off by March to reduce repeats as they only have like 10-11 episodes left).
09:30 – The New Normal
10:00 – Smash
Tuesday (End of March Onwards)
08:00 – The Voice
09:00 – Hannibal
10:00 – Smash
Bob Greenblatt stated that Hannibal wont premiere till like April and with The Voice as a lead-in it would have more of a chance!
Why put there it’s like they want the show to fail?
So… Grimm won’t air at all until March or will it air in January?
This sounds really good and interesting, but I already know it won’t last. All the good shows never do!
4 months break for Grimm? 4????! Damn you NBC!!!
Grimm will return in January, and will air a few episodes (maybe 4?) until Dateline replaces it. Then Grimm will return in March.
The timeslot for Do No Harm isn’t tough but it’s not getting any lead-in support. It will have to self-start.
Guys!
You do realise Grimm has aired many of it’s 22 episodes ordered so if it were to return in January it would have a LOT of breaks!
Friday, March 8???!!! NBC is crazy. After all the promotion and work that NBC put in to help Grimm build it audience. Pure craziness.
First Revolution, now Grimm will return until March. The only two NBC dramas I watch get long hiatuses.
Death slot. DNH have done better on Friday with Grimm.
Despite it premiering early, I can’t believe they’re bumping Grimm for a whole month. Will they still be airing repeats?
Wonder if they plan to bump Rock Center to Saturday at some point.
Do No Harm will be getting a boost from 30 Rock’s season finale. If it is any good, it should be fine.
I’d have to say that it looks like Grimm is gone until March also.
Looks like grim ratings for NBC Fri until then.
Do No Harm Thurs @ 10 may stand a shot.
Grimm is returning January 11th. Now I’m guessing it’ll air 3 episodes (the 11th, 18th and 25th) and the Dateline will take its slot.
DNH sounds like a hot drama like Awake which i’ll end up liking but will be doing poorly in the ratings. But i bet they aren’t expecting too much from this. I mean, ABC & CBS are averaging around a 2.0 in the hour. If Do No Harm can do a 1.5, it’d be a hit. Chicago Fire is doing around the same.
I don’t expect the finale of 30Rock to be a ratings magnet. Maybe a 1.5.
This is stupid. Why not air the rest of Grimm’s episodes and premiere Do No Harm in its place? Rock Center could air at 8, Do No Harm at 9 and Dateline at 10. Do No Harm will be lucky if it can pull a 1.4 on Thursdays at 10. At least on Fridays it would have a fighting chance.
NBC keeping Rock Center with Brian Williams on the air? LOL
NBC is in BIG trouble, they only have Sunday Night Football and The Voice. I agree “Go On ‘or Goon as it is referred to, would tank without The Voice as a lead in. Since is the final season of The Office (one of NBC top 3 rated shows, which shows how bad of shape NBC is in), what does NBC do now?
NBC Sunday night Football is ending in a few weeks, and The Voice season will be ending soon.
What does NBC do now?
