Multiple sources report that, though AMC has yet to officially greenlight season 3, the writers of The Killing, including showrunner Veena Sud and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin returned to work this week. AMC is said to be considering a late May premiere. The show was canceled after its second season, but a deal with Netflix that made the show more affordable for AMC resurrected it.

I presume this darkens the outlook for Hell on Wheels, which would free up a slot on my DVR.

  • Madson Melo

    I’m so glad!!!

  • Party2nite

    meh ..

  • The End

This show was also quite heavily discounted during Black Friday sales, perhaps some Nielsen families picked up the show and will check out the 3rd Season, you never know.

Fans of truly terrible television rejoice.

  • Colin

    Yes!!!! Soo, excited!

TV fans with the attention span of a Chicken on Red Bull are very saddened.

One less slot for yet another crappy show.

The ICC in The Hauge, NL. should be prosecuting all those involved with this monstrosity for crimes against humanity. Hollywood sure has some gift for taking an amazing European show (usually British, most of the amazing ones are) and destroying it’s heart and soul. There is no reason this show should exist. Like pretty much everything the Americans try (and fail) to remake this fails epically because it fails to translate that innate European-ness (or Britishness) that makes it so good.

Don’t even get me started on the rubbish setting that tries and massively fails to be Københaven in winter….

    Not Veena Sud!!!

Lol, in any case, I will be for sure back watching this again, but I’d love to see this incredible cast under the direction of a competent showrunner.

i will be back for season 3. any show that phony people bitch about is a winner in my book.

  • Sel

Can’t wait! And this time one case in one season!

  • Leoben Conoy

LOL, Veena Sud still on board?

    a total and complete pass.

  • Simon Jester

    Awesome, I’ll be watching.

@Silas – I’ll also be watching that other rubbish American remake Homeland. ;-)

    Cannot wait

Some of the best acting on tv came from this show….. Linden and Holder back on my screens will be awesome

  • Austin

yay! I wonder what plotline they will do this season

  • Oliver

The final twist is that it will get cancelled again once it returns to low ratings.

I don’t understand why AMC don’t just air the Danish original. The rights surely can’t be that expensive.

  • Leanna

Now I would like to see netflix do the same for “Jane by Design.” I really liked that show. One season wasn’t enough.

  • Mon

Awesome! What I love the most about theshow is Linden/Holder. I don’t want want them to be together though.

  • Andrea

I don’t get the Veena Sud hate. I’ve never heard a male showrunner talked about like this woman has been talked about.

If you think Americans hate the this version–what makes you think they’ll have anything but contempt for a show with subtitles?
