I love the smell of Nielsen conspiracy in the morning, it smells like pageviews!
@Bill Gorman
Now that was hilarious!
YES! vampire diaries still #1
BS. Almost all NFL games start at 8:20 PM kickoff. Not only that, many real NFL fans watch the the ore game or are there at least 10 minutes prior to kickoff. I’m tired if hearing this BS excuse. There is no significant viewership increase or drop off between the first or second hours where one show would suffer more than twice the drop off.
Everyone who cries conspiracy simply diverts from the issue.
Okay @fishy I guess you’re new with the TVD thing! Let me explain why no one watch a Beauty and the beast after TVD
First: Cuz it’s sucks, like TSC…
Second: The Tvd fandom doesnt care about watching a show after TVD all they care bout is talking bout what happen on it on twitter and fight about it
The only show that did great after TVD was if I remember well SPN and it’s only cuz it wasnt a new show ans had his fandom
So the time slot after TVD is damn for the CW…
Either they put SPN back there or they find a new show that will interest people who dont watch TVD.
TSC was to similar to TVD and so is Beauty and the beast… no one who dont watch TVD want to watch another teenage love show at 9pm
dig a little and see what happen to every new show that have the 9 pm time slot after TVD… Hellcats, TSC and now Beauty and the beast all same pattern all damn
U suck. BatB doesn’t need TVD fandom. Whoever put it after that show to presume its fandom would watch it after knowing what they do after it for several years, is frankly an idiot. It still has nothing to do with the adjustments.
@Fishy
BS. Almost all NFL games start at 8:20 PM kickoff.
Nope.
Sunday Night Football and Thursday Night Football kick off at ~8:30pm and Monday Night Football kicks off at ~8:40pm.
The listed time is 8:20pm for SNF and TNF and 8:30pm for MNF, but that is for the “pre-kick” segment. After it runs, its commercial break follows, ending with the NFL bumper, followed by kickoff a couple minutes later, usually 10 minutes or so after the listed start time.
Do you even watch football?
@Fishy
There is no significant viewership increase or drop off between the first or second hours
This is a detailed breakdown for NBC on opening weekend this season…
Football Night in America 1 – 7:00-7:30 – sustained
Football Night in America 2 – 7:30-7:57 – 1.1 A18-49, 3.4 million viewers
Football Night in America 3 – 7:57-8:21 – 5.3 A18-49, 13.0 million viewers
Sunday Night Football Pre-Kick – 8:21-8:31 – 8.2 A18-49, 20.1 million viewers
Sunday Night Football – 8:31-11:30 – 11.0 A18-49, 27.6 million viewers

Thursday Night Football has the same start time as Sunday Night Football. There is in fact a huge difference in the viewership for the 8pm hour and the 9pm hour.
Revenege proved that it can stand on it own late last season revenge only had dont trust the b as its lead in and revenge actually outgrew it on a couple of occasions. Where as scandal has always had the cushy post greys slot. Scandal needs greys where as revenge dosent need once upon a time and that was proven last season.
I was right on the money for TBBT: 5.5-5.6!
POI and TVD are still rock solid.
Terrible for Parks and Rec. I really can’t understand why people aren’t watching! It’s consistently funny and has some of the most awesome characters on TV. 2.99 mil viewers is a joke. NBC really should’ve moved it to Wednesdays this year.
Ultimate you’re talking about entire viewership across the US. One CW affiliate preempting both shows in a single area of the country and simply taking these statistical dropoffs and applying the ratios accordingly is a horribly innaccurate usage of statistics because you know that is all that they did. It’s no longer opening weeken pd either which had the Cowboys vs NY Giants.
The CW Network has done well to erase TSC and should do the same thing with The Beautiful and the Beast! But how do you keep alive a show with 1.50 viewers?
Fishy,
People who say “give me one good reason” tend to think no reason could ever be good. You have your opinion and talking to you is a waste of time.
Does anybody think that the NBC execs should give up airing any scripted shows on Thursday nights & just air cheap reality TV shows? It’s clear that NBC can’t seem to compete with CBS & FOX on Thursday nights. Do you think there’s still hope for NBC to be #1 on Thursday nights once again or will CBS always be #1 on that night for the next couple of years?
Happy for Scandal, but no surprise honestly. It was their biggest episode of the season so far in terms of plot twists and conclusions, with heavy 2 weeks of promotion.
Glee on the other hand – 2.2 is not great (even if it was a rebound from 1.5 LW). I wonder if it will rebound in the fall or if people are just finally checking out. I know I have…
Revenge will be big this week, fall finale. I expect a large rebound for OUAT and Revenge.
@Fishy
It’s no longer opening weeken pd either
I could literally link dozens of NBC press releases that show the exact same viewership behavior over the various weeks of the season over the past several years.
Viewership climbs significatly from 8pm until the ~8:30pm kickoff for primetime NFL games. That is a fact, with a vast amount of evidence to support it.
you’re talking about entire viewership across the US
You’re making an assumption that the viewership behavior in one particular market is vastly different than the rest of the country with absolutely nothing to support that (and numbers actually showing the exact opposite).
because you know that is all that they did
Another assumption based on absolutely nothing.
You said earlier that you’re tired of B.S. excuses, but that’s apparently all you have yourself.
oh, I’m making assumptions while you’re not but supporting it on figures based on the highest rated viewership of SNF this year, whereas last night’s game in Atlanta localized to one region can be presumed to represent the entire US with it’s average game viewership of 7.1 million viewers. Yeah ok, whatever.
