Last night’s Thursday Night Football game (Saints/Falcons) was simulcast on the FOX affiliate in New Orleans and the CW affiliate in Atlanta. The CW was also preempted in Baltimore for high school football. As a result, the FOX and CW numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals.

CBS won the night in adults 18-49 and in Total Viewers.

On CBS, The Big Bang Theory earned a 5.4 adults 18-49 rating, down 5% from a season-high 5.7 on November 15. Most of your predictions were too optimistic.  Two and a Half Men garnered a 4.1 among adults 18-49 even with its most recent episode’s performance. Person Of Interest scored a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating down 6% from a 3.1 on November 15. Elementary notched a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating, down4%  from  a 2.3 on November 15 and tying its series low.

On FOX,  The X Factor earned a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating down 4% from last week’s 2.8.  Glee scored a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating up 47% from a 1.5 on Thanksgiving. However, football preemptions may have impacted these numbers.

On ABC, the first episode of  Last Resort to air since its cancellation was announced garnered a series-low 1.0 adults 18-49 rating down 17% from a 1.2 on November 15. Grey’s Anatomy tied its season low with a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating down 6% from November 15’s 3.2. Scandal earned a season high 2.2 adults 18-49 rating up 10% from a 2.0 on November 15.

On NBC, 30 Rock scored a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating up 8% from a 1.2 on November 15. Up All Night garnered a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating down 8% from a 1.3 for its November 15 episode. The Office notched a series low 1.9 among adults 18-49 down 10% from a 2.1 on November 15. Parks & Recreation earned a series low 1.4 adults 18-49 rating down 18% from a 1.7 on November 15. Rock Center garnered a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating, down 18% from two weeks ago.

On the CW, Vampire Diaries scored a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating up 15% from a 1.3 on November 15. Beauty And The Beast garnered a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating up 33% from a 0.6 on November 15. However, these numbers may be inflated due to being preempted for NFL football in Atlanta and high school football in Baltimore.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Greys will probably adjust up, as usual, in the final viewing numbers. Scandal will probably adjust down but hopefully, just by a tenth.

  • Ryan

    Halves?

  • Justin121

    You know what,

it’s not unusual for THe Big Bang Thoery to adjust up 3 tenths.

It could go all the way up to 5.5-5.7.

  • John A

Bit dumb to call POI a flop. Its just doing solid not great.

  • Honey Badger

Rainn Wilson killing The Office and his career

Rainn Wilson (who plays Dwight on The Office on NBC), told everybody not to watch The Office. He got his wish.
Laugh it up Funny Boy! That is what you get for making fun of teenage actors dealing with becoming adults and trying to find their place in this world.

The Office notched a series low 1.9 among adults 18-49 down 10% from a 2.1 on November 15

Rainn Wilson parodies Angus T. Jones by begging fans to not watch ‘The Office’
    http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/rainn-wilson-parodies-angus-t-jones-by-begging-fans-to-not-watch-the-office.html

The difference is Two and a Half Men has viewers.
Rainn Wilson doesn’t have to beg fans to not watch ‘The Office’, nobody is watching now.
So Rainn Wilson joke is an epic fail.
No wonder no one watches The Office, NBC cannot be happy. I think this kind of stuff did cost him his spinoff show. ‘The Office’ spinoff ‘The Farm’ isn’t happening, Rainn Wilson says

Elementary not doing brilliantly at all but not dire either, not compared to the other ten pm shows. But it doesn’t have a heck of a lot of competition either!! Unlike say HFO Mondays at ten. CBS should have given POI or SBG’s that post superbowl boost!

    Hope Grey’s adjusts up.

    Half hours?

  • Ram510

YAAAAAAAAAAAY SCANDAL!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it would be up this week! Maybe in January it can consistently be in the 2.2-2.3 range. ABC can be too mad at Scandal right now it’s one of their top performing 10pm shows, in fact outside of DWTS it was the best 10pm show this week.

Thank you ABC for actually starting to give Scandal real promotion and not that “sexy, seductive” nonsense that would air for 2 seconds

BTW what happened to P&R??? I know it hasn’t been as good this season as far as quality but wow the ratings should be better than that

  • Rebecca

Matthew Perry made a parody of the Angus video, too, but his was funny (on funnyordie site).

Watched TBBT, Office and Parks so far – enjoyed all but Office wasn’t that great. Found it funny, though, that both Office and Parks poked fun at jazz, within about 15 minutes of each other. About to catch up on UAN and 30R….looking forward to them.

  • Samunto

Am really interested to see how Up all Night will do as a multi-cam. I can imagine it anchoring the Thursdays 9pm slot in April. NBC could end The Office early and slot UaN there. Those multi-cam viewers in need of more comedy could be switch to NBC at 9 for a multi-cam. (Yea, am stretching my neck out of the window abit too much here)

  • Brandy

Yes at those VD/B& B numbers!too bad they will adjust down.,but hopefully not by much-I want VD to beat Arrow.I knew VD ratings would be higher cause it was a Delena episode.

  • wwerules!

there is Defintely an inflated cw VP came on 11:35-12:35 and B&TB 12:35-1:35 in the ATL

  • jt

@bluejays are you crazy? How is scandal not good competition to Elementary?

All these rating won’t matter once Elementary starts pulling 3.0s after the superbowl

  • Jake

    @Scott
    @rob60990
Oh shut up… POI skews male and men watch Thursday night football. Greys is a dumb show – POI is actually intelligently written

haha another delusional poi fan I remember very clear when Bill said that like almost every show on TV POI skews more female so please take you stupid fan exude Bingo somewhere else

  • CrimTV

Well last time The CW was pre-empted TVD did not adjust down at all. But as it was pre-empted in both Atlanta/Baltimore it will defiantly adjust down but it could adjust down 9 tenths and still be safe LOL

  • aciel

i expected scandal to be adjusted up because abc really nutured it this week there was a lot of hype, in fact the most hype its ever gotten

  • Scott

    @Jake

I’m pretty sure POI is losing a heck of a lot more viewers to football than greys…. We’ll talk again in the spring

  • meah

The voice ran into RVN but it didn’t adjust down,so why must scandal adjust down when there is a greys overrun.I love that show, let abc stop overunning greys into its time..WHO SHOT FITZ??scandal fans any suggestions?

  • Vance

I wouldn’t be surprised if TVD sees no adjustment. B&TB will probably adjust down at least a tenth.
