In late-night metered-market households Friday night:

Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

For more information see Numbers 101 and Numbers 102.

    The debate with Nikita is ridiculous, the ratings isn’t even remotely where Nikita’s decision is made on when it gets renewed its the other financial stats that aren’t available to you guys on this site like other demos like the M 18-34, Netflix earnings, and overseas reports.

    The Dateline last night was about a murder case from my city. I live in Columbia, MO. It’s a follow up episode to one that aired two summers ago. The man convicted of the murder was my brother in laws roommate at the time of arrest and friends with a lot of people I know. We know he is innocent and continue to fight to get him released

    I saw this last night, and I thought they chopped it up too soon. There was no resolution to the case. Was his appeal successful? Is it still going on?

  • SteveO

    Am I the only one who actually likes the cast change on Last Man Standing? Also, I think Malibu Country is improving as well. Glad the comedies stabalized!

  • Nick

    People, be nice.
    It’s just a TV show. It’s meant for your entertainment. If you don’t like it, DON’T WATCH IT. If you love it to death, you really don’t need to blab about it on the internet.
    Please stop bickering. You’re ruining the website for everyone who reads your comments.

    @Nick

    What are you talking about? It’s fun to bash each other’s shows. Isn’t that the point of this website?

  • Dahne

    @herpderp – Wow. I don’t care one iota whether Nikita is renewed or not and even I find you obnoxious. To come to the forefront like that in 8 pages of obnoxious is quite the feat. Amazing how you spew out suggestions for others that you yourself don’t take. I certainly hope you don’t like the shows I like (and unfortunately it seems you do on occasion) because you are an embarrassment to whatever shows you will be promoting. Or maybe you are one of those people who troll for kicks I read about. I felt really sad for them.

  • Nick

    @Just Desserts

    Bashing is one thing. What the people do on this website is something completely different. It’s just sad.

  • Cj morton

    Glad to see Nikita doing well (which means still on air) I have not watched since Season 1, but I gave up due to other commitments besides watching tv, it has been a really entertaining and quite well written and produced show.

    “Isn’t that the point of this website?”

    Not really, however people still do it including myself. ;)

  • Mike S

    I havent posted in a while but I want to this week. I’m a HUGE Nikita fan and too many people on here accuse Nikita fans of hating all the other CW shows. Well I watch hart of Dixie, Arrow, Beauty and the Beast, and will check out Cult when it starts. My point is I am sure almost all Nikita fans watch other CW shows. We dont hate them. Nikita is just our favorite.

  • Justin

    True story. I’m a huge Nikita fan. Such great production. And I watch Gossip Girl, 90210, Vampire Diaries, and I’ve been giving Arrow a chance.

  • CenterGravity

    Way to go Last Man Standing and CSI: New York!

  • THE OLD MAN

    I’m starting to get into the bashing side of things myself.

    Conduct unbecoming I know, but at my age gotta get some fun in somehow.
