    @ bluejays

I agree… It seems that the H50 and Castle fans are not sniping at each other as much as they did a year ago.

It seems the detractors (Chris) and a couple other (Gina and Silvit are just Bones fans who want to keep the Castle/ Bones wars going). Gina, I recognize her from the Bones forums, and she made it known there that she hates Stana Katic and as a result she hates Castle with passion…. There are also the Alex O haters that just hate H50 because of that reason…. When people hate a show simply because of the star (and in Chris case I don’t know why), there is nothing you can say or do to stop them from posting each time a show takes a tumble…

As a former Bones fan and current Castle fan myself, I can’t stand the Bones or Castle fans that troll around the sites just to start fan wars…..

The fact is both shows are doing okay given their time slot and competition. Indeed when you look at the live only portion of the ratings for both shows, they are the same. The difference in their ratings is in the SD DVR portion. Since Bones has the two hour advantage for DVR playback, it normally gets a 2/10s to 3/10s benefit in the SD DVR portion when compare to the much later airing 10PM show.

If we go by Nielsen figures, 8PM shows usually get a 5/10s to 6/10s demo pick up on SD DVR playback. 9PM shows get a 3/10s to 4/10s demo portion on SD DVR playback, and 10PM shows get a 2/10s to 3/10s demo pick up on SD DVR playback.

Unfortunately this site no longer provides the breakdown between live and SD DVR, and the site that was providing those numbers last year is no longer doing so.

If I were to guess for last night, the live portion of Castle and Bones did a 1.5 demo while the SD DVR would be .4 for Bones and .2 for Castle.

    @Hawaii Five-0 Rocks did I lie? No, I didn’t.
and you must work for CBS ;)

  • NE1

haha Blake Shelton can suck it.

  • javier

gg is hilarious , i mean both plot and ratings

    @ Jennifer

The show has its core audience of fans that a bare minimum (i.e worst possible scenario) can get it a 1.7 and 8.5M viewers at 10PM. What a lead-in does is bring the casual viewer that would boost the shows performance by 3/10 to 5/10s or more depending on the strength of that lead-in.

I’m sure all those shows have that group of fanatical die hard fans… You really don’t know who they are or how large they are until you see how the show actually performs under the worst conditions…..

Like I said earlier, and I watch H50, you give a 1.0 lead-in and you can only hope to achieve Castle’s numbers. H50 would match them for sure, but other shows (Nashville, Scandal, Vegas, Elementary, and Parenthood) would surely not.

I’m sure all those shows have that group of fanatical die hard fans… You

    meant to say…

I’m sure all shows have a group of fanatical die hard fans, and we…

Love my H50! Writing much better this season. Want to see it at 2.4 next week.

  • Mary

    @ ivy

if it doesn´t get 2.4 or better, without Castle nor Revolution, then I don´t when it will…

  • Ryan

No matter what people say I like GG. I’m only on the 4th Season but I think it’s good. It gets a little repetitive at some points but I like it.

  • Paul

like I said before, good shows don’t need lead ins, don’t blame a bad rating on a bad lead in, if your show is good, it should get a 2.0 at least, without the need of a lead in.

lead ins are good to launch new shows, well established shows should be able to withstand the heat from the competition.

  • silvit

Did you get me being a Bones fan from my sentence “an already mediocre show” referred to Bones? ;-)

You know more than well what I think about broadcast shows, and Bones is no exception. But its numbers are better, at 8, with no lead-in in its 8th (?) season.

  • Mark3

    @the end. I agree

  • Wagner

Gossip Girl should been ended on the finale of season 2 because then we weren’t so sick of the same old crap plots.

  • Barbie

@bluejays Don’t forget Borth! Cath’s like a female McGarrett, who’s pretty much like a hot Chuck Norris! ;) I mean, the others are all kickass and everything, but McGarrett getting out from under the truck, going over it into the driver’s seat? :O Then, last week’s episode, when Cath just went and jumped from one balcony to the floor below? :O I love them! They’re perfect for each other!

Sugarcoat it all you want. Series low.

  • John

“Look at 9-10:00! CBS just CRUSHES w/ all others looking paltry. H50 up! BS down! And so it goes.”

So, delusional. Its like you think The Voice (which beat both of the shows by a big margin) never happened.

  • John

And how is H50 bigger than BS? BS still has 0.4 rating higher, Old Man.

  • John

Is The Old Man, the new Max and Chris?

  • Roosterhead

Yes, Castle is at a series low and yes those numbers for Castle stink up the place.

It was pretty much what I expected. Over the last 4 seasons, Castle’s numbers have always fallen pretty hard on the first week in December.

Given that Castle’s numbers are lower than last seasons, I would expect the new episodes in December and January to be lower as well.

Sure, I want to see the show go on for as long as possible, but the only things that are helping its position are its syndication deal, the fact that the majority of the networks 10PM lineup has really dropped precipitously since last year, and the fact that ABC’s overall ratings are down significantly.

  • John

“Here is a joke from 2BG’s last night. Female character “What do you do when they might be choking?” Male charactet “I back up a few inches.” CBS must be so proud.”

No wonder I hate this show. I bailed on 2BG after the pilot episode.
