CELEBRITIES TAKE A FLYING LEAP

ON “STARS IN DANGER: THE HIGH DIVE”

DEBUTING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9 ON FOX

Stars from TV, film, sports and pop culture plunge into a whole new pool when the two-hour special event STARS IN DANGER: THE HIGH DIVE premieres Wednesday, Jan. 9 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Based on a long-running German format, STARS IN DANGER: THE HIGH DIVE is the ultimate test for eight celebrities who will step to the edge and take a flying leap or momentous belly flop into diving history. But, first, they must complete a crash-course in diving techniques, overseen by renowned diving coaches. After an intense training period, they will compete in a series of Olympic-style dives, including solo high diving and synchronized diving, from a variety of heights. With the help of Olympic diving medalist  and commentator Troy Dumais, viewers will also get a poolside look at the courage and perseverance – as well as the twists, turns and flips – that go into turning a celebrity into an expert – or not so expert – diver.

Participating celebrities include:

WOMEN:

JWOWW – aka Jennifer Farley, one of the eight original cast members on reality series “Jersey Shore.”

BETHANY HAMILTON – professional surfer, public speaker, role model, author of the book and subject of the feature film, “Soul Surfer.”

ALEXANDRA PAUL – actress (star of more than 75 movies and TV shows, including “Baywatch” ) and endurance athlete (Ironman athlete, long distance swimmer, marathoner).

KIM RICHARDS – former child actress (“Escape to Witch Mountain”), sister of Kyle Richards and cast member on “The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.”

KYLE RICHARDS – former child actress (“Little House on the Prairie”), sister of Kim Richards, cast member on “The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” and author (“Life Is Not a Reality Show: Keeping It Real with the Housewife Who Does It All”).

MEN:

DAVID CHOKACHI  – actor (“Baywatch,” “Witchblade,” “Beyond the Break”), TV host, avid surfer and paddle boarder, honorary chair for Surfrider Foundation.

TERRELL OWENS – former NFL wide receiver and six-time Pro Bowl selection, who starred in his own cable reality series, “The T.O. Show,” and has recurring roles on network comedy “Go On” and cable drama “Necessary Roughness.”

ANTONIO SABATO JR. – actor (“Melrose Place,” “The Bold And The Beautiful,” “General Hospital”), former model, and reality TV star (“My Antonio,” “Celebrity Circus,” “But Can They Sing?”).

  • Dennis

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse

  • Seth

Those are really well known, famous celebrities.

  • The Cool Max

Never heard of any of these ” celebrities.”

  • Juan

Doesn’t ABC have a show with the exact same concept coming too?

  • were123

FOX: “And you thought we were desperate before!”

  • Flame

Next up: Stars in Danger: Stock Car Crash Challenge and Stars in Danger: Wok-Sledging World Championship and of course Stars in Danger: Carball World Championship, all from the same production company and huge hits in Germany.

  • Ultima

    @Juan
Doesn’t ABC have a show with the exact same concept coming too?

Yes. FOX, however, is taking the more intelligent route of just airing a two-hour special instead of a weekly series.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Dennis
    @ Ultima

I couldn’t agree with you more.

  • r0ckmypants

@The Cool Max – Well then you must be 90 and/or a caveperson. Because unlike Dancing with the Stars, these people CAN actually be called celebrities.

    Horrendous title though.

  • a p garcia

Can we let the Cancellation Bear dine before the show airs!

  • THE OLD MAN

And The Mob Doctor exits for this? PITIFUL

  • r0ckmypants

@THE OLD MAN – This is a one-week special before American Idol begins.

The Mob Doctor exits for The Following.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ r0ckmypants

Aware, but I would prefer Mob Doctor for a special two-hour event over this.

Doesn’t ABC have a show with the exact same concept coming too?

Yes. FOX, however, is taking the more intelligent route of just airing a two-hour special instead of a weekly series.

Fox is being kind to ABC. Taking two hours of its schedule just to prove how stupid ABC was to buy this turkey and make it into a series…

  • Dan S

Dear Fox, please don’t turn this into a series

  • AppleStinx

White dwarfs, stars who will agree to perform their own stunts just to get a bit role in a B-movie.

  • AppleStinx

    They need your support.

  • The End

    No Kathy Bates, no watch.

  • ToXiX

    No Soulja Boy, no watch.

  • aok

I just hope some of them look good in a bathing suit.
