It turns out Bill O’Reilly, without knowing hit, hit the nail on the head about this Psy guy. I really loved that whole dance Gangnam Style and I liked Psy, but now I have a different thought about him, and it’s not a very good one.
It turns out a few years ago Psy did two songs saying to kill Americans. The lyrics say things like, “Kill the f*** Yankees. Kill their wives, mothers, daughters and daughter in laws. Kill them slowly,” and a whole lot of other ugly things about Americans. Pretty nasty stuff. Then his other song he was on stage throwing replicas of American tanks and throwing them on the ground and smashing them all the while vehemently seething against Americans.
It’s going to be interesting to see what Bill has to say about Psy this week. I know I’ll be watching. I’ll be watching Bill, not Psy.
Redbar,
You are missing my point. The discussion for me started with Nancy’s post:
Faith3
You are right about that. Bill, John, and Steven make conservatives crazy. Come on, Conservs, it’s only comedy, so lighten up and have a good laugh. Happy to see you are still here, Faith3. I enjoy your input. BBL
My point is that yes, conservatives should lighten up, but that I separate Maher from the others since he is cruel vs Stewart and Colbert. Maher gets the benefit of the doubt on his show, which deals with politics regardless of the channel. You and others think Billo is a bigot for what he said about Psy, regardless if it was a joke. If Maher said the same thing, serious or not, what would you think? Does he still get a pass because he is a comedian? I think that is a lousy argument since under that category he can say anything without reproach. However, if that is the standard then would a “conservative” comedian who says equally offensive things be given that same benefit if the doubt? I think we know the answer to that.
There is a difference between Dennis Miller and Bill O. One is a conservative comedian and one is not.
Faith,
True, but I do not think Dennis Miller mocks homosexuals, African Americans, etc. the same way that Maher mocks religious people, women, etc. That is why Dice Clay for me is a better comparison. He did mock those groups as a comedian and was protested and career stalled. Maher says with a straight face that anyone religious, not the fanatics – anyone, is an idiot and worse. I know I get on my soapbox about this but for me it is part of a larger issue about equality.
Sorry Faith, I reread your post and I think I was debating you on a point that you were not making.
@apple stinx
steven king thought jim morrison was still alive lol
@Bevag
You forgot that he was mentioning the yankees (soldiers) that tortured Iraq captives and the performance was in response to the 2002 death of two Korean school girls, who were killed in an accident with an American military vehicle outside of Seoul, the soldiers driving the tank were acquitted by a US military court.
According to the Korea Herald, anti-American sentiment ignited after their deaths, and one of the most outspoken critics in the local entertainment industry was Psy.
Mediaite reports a second incident in 2004 after a South Korean missionary was executed in Iraq – an act of revenge for the country’s support of the U.S. war in Iraq – Psy performed an anti-America song with another popular Korean rock band.
Don’t leave out the important information.
RedBarSoup:
I’m not interested in Psy’s reasoning for want F***king Americans killed. He didn’t say just kill soldiers. He wanted their mothers, wives and daughters killed “slowly.”
So all of what you said is not of interest to me. I’m focused on the fact that Psy was promoting the torturing and killing of any type of American, not just soldiers.
My point is that Bill O’Reilly, without even knowing it, turned out to be correct about this guy Psy.
BillO never said anything bad about him or said that psy was bad himself….he just poked fun at the song saying the song had no words and it had no meaning, without doing any research because if he had he would have known it was a different language. Please tell me what Bill O was correct about…
I think I’m taking some dramatic leave here.
But the fact that Bill didn’t gravitate to Psy immediately — which I did — and then come to find out that Psy now has to backtrack and apologize for all the horrible things he wanted to happen to Americans –
Bill was only correct in that he didn’t gravitate to Psy as quickly as most of us Americans did, and I’m including that in there also.
Marquez KOs Pacquiao in the 6th round.
That? has got to be one of the most devastating counter-punch KOs that I have ever seen in my life.
Well that loss cost Manny and Floyd about $70 million each.

He must have thought that from all the material the Doors have released (remasters, sets and sets) in recent years. Or did King think that Morrison faked his own death?
@apple stinx
read the long version of the stand he’s in there.
Mark – I say they(Stewart, Colbert and prime time news channel shows) are the same(and you can through Bill Maher into this group) because all the shows are for entertainment purposes, not actual news programs.
————————————
Sigh! Basketball, Football, & Baseball are all sports too. Each of them appeal to different groups. Just like Stewart’s & Colbert’s audience is different than Bill O’s or The Five’s. The demo is what counts in this case. Stewart & Colbert’s demo is different than Bill O’s or The Five’s. That’s what some can’t seem to grasp. It never fails when the daily cable ratings (top 100) get posted some cry foul because Stewart’s & Colbert’s are not included.
I personally don’t care if FNC loses or wins the ratings. It’s fun to torment the other side about the ratings, but not a major concern of mine. I post the daily cable (top 100) just so folks can see how cable news is doing.
Bobbyv – First, what is the difference? Billo does news analysis, does Maher not do this? Does he not talk about, and know a lot about, politics?
—————————
Either Maher lies on purpose or he knows very little. I don’t watch his HBO show, but i did see him on Letterman once. Dumber than the d*ck on my dog when it comes to politics.

Mark2 – Well that loss cost Manny and Floyd about $70 million each.

IF they would have fought. I didn’t see the fight ever happening. Be interesting to see if Manny is finished as a top fighter. Roy Jones Jr was a bad man for a long time. After he got KO’d the first time he was never the same. Both KO’d late in their careers. Roy should of IMO retired after he won the heavy weight belt.
The Five continues to do well! Some libs seem perturbed by this.
The O’Reilly Factor is NOT a news show. It’s an entertainment show that encompasses the following:
1. Bill O’Reilly’s personal opinions on current events. (Very little facts)
2. Promotion of his personal Books (Killing Kennedy, Lincoln, etc).
3. Bill O’Reilly’s personal opinions on various issues. (Very little facts)
4. More praising of his own Books being on the NY Times Best Seller’s List.
5. Bill O’Reilly’s personal complaints about the Culture War. (Made up wars)
6. Promotion of his personal concerts with Dennis Miller.
7. The warped comedy of Dennis Miller or Greg Gutfeld.
8. More promoting of his concerts with information about tickets, etc.
9. Mail of people’s reactions to Bill O’Reilly’s personal opinions.
10. Promotion of items being sold on his website.
11. Bill O’Reilly’s personal Tip of the Day…real newsworthy type stuff, lol.
12. More advertising about his personal books and a reminder of becoming a Premium member on his site.
13. Word of the Day…more newsworthy stuff, lol.
14. Advertising of all the companies that provide Bill O’Reilly with his free shirts, free ties, free suits, and even his shoes.
Gee Mark2, what are you getting Billo for Xmas?
