|E! NEWS TO EXCLUSIVELY AIR A FIRST LOOK AT THE NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR MAROON 5'S SINGLE "DAYLIGHT" ON DECEMBER 10
(Los Angeles, CA, DATE) – On Monday, December 10th, E! will present the U.S. premiere of the new Maroon 5 music video for their song "Daylight," the third single off the band's fourth album "Overexposed." The video, featuring multitalented band members Adam Levine, James Valentine, MickeyMadden, PJ Morton and Matt Flynn, is comprised of footage from the band's fans who show their own personal struggles with growing up and what is important in their lives. On Monday, December 10th, E! News will air a first look at this unique project during the 7:00 PM ET/PT broadcast, along with an exclusive interview with Levine and Valentine who explain why they decided to create a video like this and talk candidly about the honest, raw and emotional footage they got back from the thousands of fans who sent in videos. The almost 9-minute video will then run in its entirety on EOnline (www.eonline.com) directly following E! News' broadcast.
Looking for a way to create more than just an average music video, Maroon 5 went beyond their usual approach and created a global call to action. Adam Levine, front man to the band, explains that they wanted their fans to show them that "as different as we all are there are common themes that bring us together, inspire and show everyone what is important today". Directed by Jonas Akerlund, the video reflects an endless amount of personal stories that highlight the challenges we all face and what is truly important in life.
Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as "Best New Artist" of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5's releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. The band won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane and their double platinum album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, which included hits like "Makes Me Wonder" and "If I Never See Your Face Again." This past summer marked the debut of Maroon 5’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, Overexposed. Recorded in Los Angeles, CA, the release is a rich, pop-infused collection that quickly reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music. Overexposed features a series of chart-topping singles including: “Payphone,” which immediately shot straight to #1 on both the Top 40 and Hot AC charts, and “One More Night,” which held at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine straight weeks. Most recently Maroon 5 received GRAMMY nominations this week in the categories of Best Pop Performance for “Payphone” and Best Pop Album for Overexposed. The group will kick off a U.S. tour this February.
The premiere of Maroon 5's "Daylight" follows a successful series of music video premieres on E! News and EOnline making E! the destination for top-tier musicians and record labels. Artists, such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Gym Class Heroes have partnered with the network to showcase their new videos to the world.
