“ps Even now POI is only one show that is UP from its Fall ratings last season. Grey’s is down. Not eve close to what LOST was. LOST never go down 4.0 demo.”

What a ridiculous comparison. Lost didn’t last as long and would have kept dropping if it had still been on. And it did fall below a 4.0, never went below a 3.6. Also, Lost never peaked as high as Grey’s. As usual you make stuff up before having facts.

“if you want to get religious, Sunday in the bible is the first day after creation , so I know the Jewish religion considers Sunday to be the first day of the week.”

    no, it’s the 7th day.

Too bad TVD dropped and B&tB should definitely be moved to that tuesday slot and Cult should premiere in that post TVD one. Cult might do well since they have Matt Davis in the cast.

Grey’s is still beating POI and awesome rise for Scandal. Is Scandal now ABC’s highest rated 10pm show?

NBC is still pathetic as usual.

  • LisaNeedsBraces

It’s also winning the DVR +3 day ratings, so people who are saying Elementary is getting canceled can just shut up.

That and $4.75 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. While you drink it, you can fill out your Fan Excuse Bingo card.

    @Bookworm

    Are you stupid?

The ratings are counted from Monday to Sunday, so for this week there will be no Revenge. Last week Revenge beat Scandal and that is a fact just like every week before. I want to see the day Scandal getting a 3.2 like Revenge did as a series premiere. Other thing Sunday is the most watched TV night and Revenge has a lot of competition like the most watched drama The Walking Dead. Nothing is in favour of Scandal these numbers came and will be gone very shortly. Every episode Shandra writes goes up, that happens with Grey’s Anatomy the happened with Private Practice.

  • Juan

Goooo Scandal, it was an awesome episode, loved it and so happy that it got series highs. Also love both Scandal and Revenge so why are people arguing. Finally sad that Grey’s was down, I hope next week it goes up a lot.

  • Chris O.

Thank you @Rob60990 for defending Grey’s against POI wannabees!

  • HotLatino4GayMarriage

LOL @ poi (lower case intended) fans grasping at straws to somehow claim that their show beat Grey’s, it didn’t, get over it! 18-49 demo is the one that matters, you guys should know that by now.

  • Bee

OMG YAY SCANDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHH HOORAY! it’ll obv go down next week w.o such an explosive episode to promote, but if it can do 2.2 or above, then awesome. and are people really complaining about scandal’s promotion? OF COURSE it was promoted a lot (tho i’m not 100% sure cus i don’t feel like i saw as many this week compared to last, but whatever). ABC knew they had a kick ass episode, the kind that would make people want to stick with the show, so obv they go all out. if scandal got a 2.0 for this episode also, things would be bleak. ABC tried and it worked and hopefully the audience sticks. that’s how you grow a show.

LMAO that grey’s beat POI again hahaha sorry, but that’s just funny. it was a 0.2 loss that turned into a 0.1 win lol

no matter how much people rag about glee going down, it’s still FOX’s #1 (or close #2) scripted. it’s staying.

  • forg

0h my people are arguing now when the week starts ;)

Happy for Scandal! Shonda knows how to make event TV

30 Rock has been great this season, too bad its flopping badly. The Office back to 2s, still a weak season but I’m hanging on til the end of the series

TBBT is such a ratings superstar. I wonder if CBS is contemplating moving it to 9PM. I think POI could still work at 8 PM

  • TVDxItachi

Damn TVD down always sucks, I think because football is so big alot of shows will lose some numbers. Next week is the finally, hopefully it will adjust up. New storyline seems pretty insane, It looks like “Heaven and Hell” is finally going to be introduced to TVD. The storyline kind of reminds me of supernatural,(even though i’m no sure if they did a storyline like this)Sacrificing 12 Hybrids for an unknown reason.

  • man

Put TVD at 9pm next year

  • askmelast79

I’m still trying to figure out why there seems to be a “war” over grey’s vs. POI. I don’t get it. They are not the same genre, and they don’t attract the same type of viewer. For example, I would never watch a hospital drama, even if POI were to bite the dust. grays is not my cup of tea, and I will never watch it. And I don’t get the POI hatred. Neither show is going anywhere anytime soon. So why waste a lot of energy hating on something that probably isn’t taking viewers away from your show? Strange.

The ratings won’t matter as long as POI gets consistent numbers and that don’t fall too rapidly. I see POI being around at least 5 seasons.

  • Melissa

    @Chris

All the Grey’s fans who are sitting here gloating, first off, really?

Secondly, I know that 18-49 is very important, but I feel pretty good that POI gets over 5 million (sometimes closer to 6) viewers more than Grey’s…. I don’t care what age group. It’s a better show, and it gets more viewers.

No one cares if you feel good about its total viewership. Advertisers aren’t gonna pay CBS lots of money for a bunch of 60-year-olds watching. 18–49, 18–23, and 25–54 are what matters. Grey’s Anatomy consistently wins in 2/3 of those categories. Also, it’s clearly not a better show, as Grey’s Anatomy has won numerous Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globes, while Person of Interest has won what? Oh yeah, a People’s Choice Award. Finally, you cannot compare a show in its second season to a show in its ninth. Person of Interest is probably not going to see a ninth season, and if it does, you can be sure that it won’t be pulling 3’s and 4’s like Grey’s Anatomy.

    @Petar Ivanov

ps Even now POI is only one show that is UP from its Fall ratings last season. Grey’s is down. Not eve close to what LOST was. LOST never go down 4.0 demo.

Um, first of all, Lost only went 6 seasons, whereas Grey’s Anatomy is in its ninth season. When Grey’s Anatomy was in its sixth season, it was pulling 5’s and 6’s. Secondly, Lost has went below a 4.0 before. Finally, see the Gunsmoke Rule; broadcast TV ratings were higher in the 2009–2010 season than they are now.

  • Melissa

Add: As rob60990 said above, Lost never approached the level of success Grey’s Anatomy had in its prime. The latter show was consistently pulling 9’s and 10’s for regular episodes in its third season.

    >>Boy some people take umbrage if you happen to say something against a certain show. Whether someone likes or dislikes a show like Scandal, Revenge, POI or Elementary it’s just a show. The numbers are what they are & if someones show bests another show whoopee. Most of these shows will all be back regardless so I can say my show is more popular because it got more viewers while the other show wins in the 18-49 demo so it’s better.<<

Advertising dollars is what matters to networks, no doubt. So the show that pulls in more money "wins" in network speak. However, who gets the most money does not determine quality. This is NOT to say that POI is better than Grey's (not at all) but let's have perspective. Jersey Shore scores huge in the cable demo but it isn't quality. It may be very entertaining to a certain demo but no one could say it is quality with a straight face.

So to echo the poster who I pasted/quoted above, relax about "your" show (whether POI or whatever) and don't take it personal. A show can take hold and garner demo (or other) audience for many reasons. DON'T take it personal….

  • greysfan

Scandal you beauty. That episode was one of the best episodes of Scandal ever. Loved it. Grey’s doing well too for a drama in its 9th season and the storylines are still interesting. Go Big Bang Theory too.

Two and a Half Men i wish would DIE already. Glee and X Factor doing as expected and Person of Interest is plodding along nicely too. Thursdays is probably my busiest night of tv along with Sunday.

  • Just Desserts

Haha, the ratings has been good for ABC!!! Hopefully, this justifies the likely renewal status for Scandal. :)

My bets have been on target so I still think its renewal for The Neighbors and Nashville would be renewed next year.

All these three shows are either stable or have a growing audience so they are safe.

  • @ramirescl

Scandal is a beast right now.

    30 Rock is pathetic.

  • Networkman

WOW! Scandal hitting a 2.5! This is a major success for a 10pm show. ABC’s patience with this show is paying off. CBS has to be concerned. Scandal has now soundly beaten Elementary. Now if Scandal could attract more viewers that would just be icing on the cake.

CBS may really have to consider having 2 hours of comedy on Thursday followed by Person of Interest @10pm.

CW also should be concerned about Beauty & the Beast. It is really starting to drop to unacceptable levels considering it airs after The Vampire Diaries.
