Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Yes for Scandal!! Last nights episode was perfection! I cannot wait for the winter finale. This show is just freaking awesome all around.

  • Max

    @Stormy44

Yep, I also think SCANDAL will either remain the same or even get a .1 adjustment up in the finals. This will be the first week of MANY that SCANDAL bests REVENGE.

In fact, this is a major turning point because now ABC can rightfully put the dollars toward SCANDAL that they usually save for REVENGE and the audience can get bigger and bigger.

Meanwhile, REVENGE will have to deal with award show issues and the like on Sunday nights and continue to dive.

  • Juan

How big are these two market? Anyone

  • CrimTV

I think after the ending of last weeks (November 29) Vampire Diaries episode, I think it upset many fans (especially Stelena fans) so maybe they didn’t want to watch it??? I know that is like fan excuse bingo but I don’t care lol

  • cc

    Nice on the CBS shows.

Do you think Simon envisioned his little show would get TBBT numbers? Hahaha. Go away Simon.

  • Bee

max gives other scandal fans a bad rep. NO ONE else does the completely random scandal vs. revenge battle but him.

anyway, DARN YOU PRE-EMPTIONS! didn’t see that notice. oh well, still great. hope that 2.5 doesn’t go lower than 2.3.

  • Greens78

Ouch for Beauty and the Beast. I like the show, but those ratings are awful. But it needs to be put out of it misery before it becomes an embarrassement.

  • carla

POI is on a serious roll now. Great episode last night and dynamite ratings in both demo and total viewers.

  • THE OLD MAN

ABC as LR cont’s its “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” @ 8, GA ties season low @ 9, but ONO! Scandal takes hour

At FOX XFac 2.4 not much to sing about, Glee “2.1” yearns for higher ground

NBC has nothing to crow about as The Office “2.1” only one not mired by 1.0’s

CW TVD fails to take hour, but good w/ 1.1, TATB off from last week

CBS sings “I’m Your Stamroller, Baby” as it CRUSHES all other nets w/ an absoluely astonding 8-11 average

  • Shepherd

Good for POI, why it doesn’t consistently beat Grey’s is beyond me.
Well deserved numbers for Scandal. I’m not even sure why I decided to check it out to begin with, but every episode I’m enjoying the show more and more. I still hate the title though.

  • Nathan

Scandal is such an amazing show

  • Melissa

Grey’s Anatomy will adjust up, as it has the last 7 times. Great job Person of Interest and Scandal, but they may be inflated.

  • Andrea

Yay! So happy for POI .. love Bear .. the coolest show on TV.

  • Tony ^_^

@j: I haven’t seen many “Revenge” promos this season… But then again, I don’t watch ABC much. I only watch “Revenge” and “666 Park Avenue” and I saw a bunch of “Scandal” ads during those shows this past Sunday. Not to mention all those online ads…

  • buffy

anyone know the series low for The Vampire Diaries??

  • Paleonut

Wow! If the numbers hold, Arrow tied TVD rating-wise & more that topped them in total viewers! Impressive!

  • s0303

revenge should get higher ratings than scandal…it’s a 9pm show vs. a 10pm show with similar lead in numbers…personally i don’t watch either show, but if scandal can get the same rating or even 0.1 below revenge, i would say scandal would be the winner :)

  • Max Vrany

    San Francisco-Oakland is #7. Denver is #18.

  • Oliver

    @Ike

I doubt it is still the case, but The Office and Parks used to be the youngest-skewing non-animated show on the big 4.

  • shouichi

    Worst.TVD.rating.ever!
So it’s official that Arrow is CW’s #1 show now. LoL
