Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Party2Nite

    NBC put it up against TBBT and its ratings collapsed. No comedy can compete up against TBBT, which is the #1 scripted show on broadcast television.

    “Everytime you post here you rebuke BatB. You’re a douche.”

    No I don’t and the personal attack is unnecessary and childish but I expect nothing more from a CW fan. :D

  • senor chang

    This is a good week for middling dramas at 10PM (see also: Parenthood, Chicago Fire, Nashville).

  • Rach

    Glee seems stuck around the low 2’s. It’s certainly lost it’s ‘powerhouse’ status, even the music sales have dropped significantly. Shame, I’m really enjoying this season.

  • Fred

    GREAT for Scandal! A 2.5 at 10:00 is fantastic. Even dramas in earlier timeslots would be happy with that.

    Not so great for X Factor. Although the show does have some real talent. Britney is a fantastic mentor to those adorable young singers. Her judgements are quick and to the point. Simon seems to have softened a bit since his Idol days. But his comments are spot on.

  • Andrea

    Wish CBS would put the Mentalist back on Thur night (right after POI). Elemenatry is not my cup of tea.

  • Serene

    Lol i am sorry but why would POI be better suited for Superbowl then Elementary?
    And as it is is a CBS production and they look after their own.

  • PV

    C’mon CW, give the post-TVD slot to Cult. BaTB is hopeless at this point. Cult may have a little chance to survive.

  • RJ

    Last time I checked going from a 5.5 to a 5.3 isn’t a tenth. ;)

  • man

    Why is beauty and the beast down? Best show ever

    @s0303
    “revenge should get higher ratings than scandal…it’s a 9pm show vs. a 10pm show with similar lead in numbers…personally i don’t watch either show, but if scandal can get the same rating or even 0.1 below revenge, i would say scandal would be the winner”
    thats because that was the most hyped up episode of scandal and revenge despite it being a 9 pm show it has more competition than scandal. scandal i saw so many promos for i can’t even count how many promos of scandal i saw this week and last week. i dont why abc didnt hype it up from the beginning but then all of the sudden in the middle of the season abc decides to hype it up. its the “who shot fitz” that brought the ratings up. but when that drama is over it will go down. and ya i got to admit about revenge this season it hasn’t been very good i used not miss one episode but now i missed like 5 episodes this season and havent even bothered to watch them. if it doesnt go back to the main storyline than i expect it to be be hitting around a 1.9-2.2 if not lower i know a lot of people that are losing interest. i personally dont watch because i think that its boring. since revenge is no longer a good show the only good show that abc really is once upon a time.

  • Ardnaskela

    OMG!
    Look at TVD – very bad, awful ratings!

    & I assume BATB won’t get season 2 :(

  • Warren

    @PV

    I think the Scandal vs Revenge thing has been instigated by Max; a Scandal fan with an irrational hatred of Revenge lol. They’re not in competition and they are both safe for 3rd season renewals at this point. He’s just an attention seeker with some mental problems. That’s why we all love him so much :)

  • tv_viewer

    Chris is right. Scandal wasn’t preempted by football in Oakland/San Francisco. Scandal may drop in the final ratings if Grey’s Anatomy ended at 10:01 or 10:02 pm.

    I hope that the football game didn’t preempt Person Of Interest in the Denver market. Person of Interest may finally beat Grey’s Anatomy head to head on the same night and the same time.

    @Joe: here’s the thing, he’s bashing *shows*, you’re name calling other people. Don’t. Thanks.

  • Potato

    Glee is following the Heroes path it seems– great, insanely popular first season, okay second that starts losing some people, horrendous third that made everyone but die hard fans give up and a fourth season that, while it’s an improvement, nobody wants to watch the show anymore.

  • rob60990

    @Joe, so you’re telling me a .5 rating is good? Because all I said was that it did awful which is true.

  • PV

    “revenge should get higher ratings than scandal…it’s a 9pm show vs. a 10pm show with similar lead in numbers…personally i don’t watch either show, but if scandal can get the same rating or even 0.1 below revenge, i would say scandal would be the winner” But Revenge does get higher numbers. This was the first time that Scandal beat it.

  • Zach

    Good for Scandal. I don’t watch but its good to see ABC win every once in a while.

    Beauty isn’t looking so good anymore. It’s obviously very lead in dependent because when VD dropped it dropped too. I can see .4s in the winter. I would not be surprised if it is shipped off to Fridays and Cult’s premiere date is switched.

  • CenterGravity

    @JONNYSBRO

    There’s no ‘e’ in Scandal.
