For those that do not know why the dumbocrats on here are so stupid:
Only 7% of Detroit Public-School 8th Graders Proficient in Reading
In the public schools in Detroit, Mich., according to the U.S. Department of Education, only 7 percent of the eighth graders are grade-level proficient or better in reading.
Detroit public-school eighth graders do even worse in math than they do in reading, according to the Department of Education. While only 7 percent scored highly enough on the department’s National Assessment of Educational Progress test in 2011 to be rated “proficient” or better in reading, only 4 percent scored highly enough to be rated “proficient” or better in math.
Statewide in Michigan, only 32 percent of public-school eighth graders scored grade-level proficient or better in reading, and only 31 percent scored grade-level proficient or better in math.
68 percent of Michigan public-school eighth graders are not proficient in reading and 69 percent are not proficient in math.
Same can be said nation wide.

President Obama Eyes Banks to Cover His FHA Mess
Subprime Scandal: Now that the president’s mismanagement of FHA has led to its insolvency, how will he avoid the embarrassment of a bailout? By squeezing banks, how else?
Under Obama, the Federal Housing Administration has increasingly backed new home loans to so-called rebound borrowers who recently defaulted on past mortgages. The agency is allowing lower-income borrowers to get loans just three years after foreclosure with as little as 3% down and lousy credit scores. In fact, a whopping 40% of newer FHA-backed loans are subprime.
The risky lending has led to higher delinquencies. In fact, at 17%, delinquencies on FHA loans are now so high the administration has extended the grace period for repayments on troubled loans to a full year.
Stories of FHA sweetheart loans to repeat defaulters are legion. Take Hermes Maldonado. The Honduras immigrant recently qualified for an FHA loan for a home in the Los Angeles area — despite two prior foreclosures and two bankruptcies.
“After everything that happened, thank God I was able to buy another house,” Maldonado last week told the Los Angeles Times in Spanish.
HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan, who as a Clinton HUD official helped ease agency underwriting standards before the subprime crisis, calls such easy lending the “democratization of credit.”
******
The administration has already pressured five major banks — Bank of America Corp., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Wells Fargo & Co., Ally Financial, and Citigroup — to pump at least $500 million into the FHA’s capital reserve fund to settle alleged mortgage fraud and foreclosure claims. In a separate shakedown, it forced Bank of America to inject another $500 million into the agency to settle claims against BofA’s mortgage unit, Countrywide Financial.

Got to love a plan that Pelosi did not see the need to read.
Obamacare Fee of $63 Per Person to Begin in 2014
Your medical plan is facing an unexpected expense, so you probably are, too. It’s a new, $63-per-head fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions under President Obama’s health care overhaul.
The charge, buried in a recent regulation, works out to tens of millions of dollars for the largest companies, employers say. Most of that is likely to be passed on to workers.
Employee benefits lawyer Chantel Sheaks calls it a “sleeper issue” with significant financial consequences, particularly for large employers.
“Especially at a time when we are facing economic uncertainty, [companies will] be hit with a multimillion-dollar assessment without getting anything back for it,” said Mr. Sheaks, a principal at Buck Consultants, a Xerox subsidiary.
Based on figures provided in the regulation, employer and individual health plans covering an estimated 190 million Americans could owe the per-person fee.

Lefties Upset that Bin Laden “Zero Dark Thirty” Film Accurately Depicts How Effective “Enhanced Interrogation Techniques” Worked
The Preemptive Strike
on ‘Zero Dark Thirty’
Kathryn Bigelow, Mark Boal under fire from progressives outraged by film’s accurate depiction of enhanced interrogation techniques.
Left-wing commentators are outraged by the accurate portrayal of enhanced interrogation techniques in the upcoming film from the Oscar-winning creators of The Hurt Locker.
New York magazine’s David Edelstein named Zero Dark Thirty as the best he had seen this year, though he added a caveat: “It also borders on the politically and morally reprehensible. By showing these excellent results—and by silencing the cries of the innocents held at Abu Ghraib, Bagram, and other ‘black sites’—it makes a case for the efficacy of torture.”
But at least Edelstein has seen the movie. Other, more ignorant critics have expressed their outrage despite not having seen the film in question. For example:

Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
Why the PC Police had taken away
The reason for Christmas – no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe’s the word Christmas – was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears
You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
not Happy Holiday !
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thanks for the hugz Sunny!! I feel much better already!
As for the tree, I have not put one up for a few years now since i go to my kids for Christmas. Having it in the house at times just makes it more lonely! I used to go all out and the inside of the house was just as lively as the outside but when it is down to just me and the dogs it aint the same!
I got an idea as to WHO we should push off the cliff!!!!
75 Percent of Obama’s Proposed Tax Hikes to Go Toward New Spending
According to the minority side of the Senate Budget Committee, $1.2 trillion of the proposed $1.6 trillion in tax hikes would go toward new spending, while only $400 billion would go toward deficit reduction.
“The [president's] plan called for $1.6 trillion in new taxes, twice what the president asked for in the campaign. He asked for $800 billion during the campaign. Now he wants $1.6 trillion in new taxes,” said Senator Jeff Sessions, the ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee, last week on the floor.
“Spending under that plan would increase $1 trillion above the levels agreed to in the Budget Control Act, as signed into law. We agreed to the Budget Control Act 16 months ago, in August 2011, and we raised the debt ceiling and agreed to reduce spending. We raised the debt ceiling $2.1 trillion and agreed to reduce spending $2.1 trillion. The President’s plan would take out over $1.1 trillion of those spending limitations that are in current law. I repeat, spending will increase more than $1 trillion above the already projected growth in spending,” Sessions added.

I used yours once. My computer said “picture error 12009988.” I looked up what that meant. It said “On the FBI most wanted list.”
Heard Rudy G say something like – the R’s should give Nobama his tax rate increase. The deal would be they take effect after the spending cuts are done. Sounds like a plan to me. Spending cuts always seem to be in the out years. Let them be first for once.
