“What is the average age of the typical BB viewer? 78? 81? It’s got to be up there. It’s the only show on the air that appeals to even an older audience than The Mentalist. Who would have thought Tom Selleck would be this generation’s Matlock!”

There is little chance that CBS cannot actually get it to syndication (is there even a precedent for a show that could not be sold into syndication?)

The question isn’t so much “will it be sold?” as “how high/low will the price be?” and “will that price sufficiently off-set the cost of keeping it for another season?”

    @ Bill Gorman

Yes but 2 years ago, BB was getting low 2s. Now it’s lucky if it gets a 1.4 in the demo. It’s got to be even older today if that’s possible.

    This cracked me up. lol.

Why do like three fourths of my comments never end up getting posted? Am I doing something wrong?

I just looked in the spam filter and the one from you that was trapped referred to the WWII German leader who’s name is always trapped by the filter.

@JustToClarify, Nikita did have its midseason finale last Friday. It should return on Jan 18th according to their promos. I admit that last episode stepped up its game & I will definitely be watching when it returns.

CSI: NY is really doing well for a 9-years old show on Friday. I feel like without this show Friday will be a total disaster. CBS should Renew it for mid-season if the new drama flops next year.

  • Richard Steven Hack

I expect Nikita is past doing the “filler” episodes they used for the first three episodes of the season. They should be fully into an “Amanda war” arc hopefully from now on. They laid down that gauntlet Friday when Nikita told the rest of the gang that they were Amanda’s targets, not her.

There might be some filler here and there, but I suspect most of the remaining episodes will be about Amanda and Ari. Hard to tell if they will be better than the first two seasons against Percy, but Amanda does have her qualities – for one thing, she’s smokin’ hot! :-)

In any event, while it was nice to see Nikita not adjusted down, its ratings are irrelevant since syndication is the goal now.

CBS: For those of you who think CSI:NY is a goner…. Think Again! I believe it will be renewed. For a Nine year old show on Friday Nights and keeping up with all the competition in the 18-49 demo and having a healthy overall audience I don’t think it will be canned. Especially if the new show isn’t pulling any better numbers.

Also it seems CBS has made really naive decisions regarding the 2012-13 season. I understand the network wants to place “new” shows on Tuesday/Thursday 10 PM timeslots and rearrange the schedule, however why in the hell move mentalist behind the good wife? Mentalist was pulling way better #s last year on Thursdays and this year it is just beyond pathetic. Not to mention H50 has had a decent size drop as well. Vegas and Elementary are not that great of hits either for Tuesday/Thursday 10 shows..

Maybe CBS should stop trying to make something work on Tuesdays at 10 and put mentalist there and revamp its Sunday night lineup. Maybe make Sunday Nights the Reality night Survivor at 8 Amazing Race at 9 and if the good wife is renewed for its “critical acclaim” place that show at 10.. For god sakes do not use this show as a leadin at 8 or 9 just 10 will be fine.

@chris, I agree with you. Vegas should be cancelled effective immediately. The Mentalist should be moved to Tuesday @10pm. It would improve the timeslot. Also that will help stop that slow gradual bleeding of The Mentalist. Dramas are not working for CBS on Sunday night. Maybe it should be a night of reality.

Guys, if CBS moves Mentalist to Tuesdays at 10, that slot might improve a bit (supposing the mentalist pulls 2.0s there, it would improve 0.4 from vegas… so let’s say it improves 0.5 for the sake of the argument). However, Vegas would be pulling 1s or sub1s on Sunday night (Imagining it’s a 1.0, it would fall 0.6). So, the net result would still be about the same for CBS or even negative and that is what it cares about. Besides, they would need to move the mentalist again next season to launch a new show on a weekday, so why bother?

    @Richard Steven Hack
Melinda Clark(sp?) is only scheduled to appear in 14 out of the 22 episode season, and she’s been in 2 of those 14 episodes already.

Still rooting for Malibu Country. Hoping for renewal update soon. The show deserves a chance and I disagree with the low ratings. Everybody I know loves it and watches the show faithfully. I hope it is given a chance. It has helped ABC rate better on Friday night.

Whooo!!! Nikita. Great action show. Hopefully next year at least get a 0.5

  • JustToClarify

Will Nikita even have time to complete its season before the end of May? Considering it started so late and is taking fairly regular breaks already, I’m curious as to when the finale will actually air.

  • Regina Taylor

I would like to comment on Malibu Country. We love the show because it has a Grandmother supporting her divorced daughter, grandchildren that are teenagers, nosy neighbor and a dad that has flown the coop. Sounds just like the family around the corner, doesn’t it? Might just learn a few things from the show; Hope it stays on ABC.

  • NewNikitaFan

NIkita is awesome!I just started watching the series online (I am up to season 2 so I’m way behind). I can’t dare watch the current shows cause it’s so good I don’t want to jump ahead. I’ve been telling everyone I know to watch it cause it is done very well. It’s a nice relief from the CSI’s and L&O type shows. Fast pace, great plot and twists. Definitely keeps one’s interest. It truly deserves higher ratings.
