“The Voice” Also Has #1, #2 and #6 Singles This Week on iTunes Overall Chart as Series Nears Season Finale on December 18

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. --- December 11, 2012 – As NBC’s “The Voice” roars towards its season finale on December 18, this series is hitting new highs and experiencing many firsts. This is the first time that “The Voice” has had two #1 singles on the overall iTunes charts in one season and also occupied three of the Top 5 positions on the overall singles chart.

The show will narrow down its current four finalists to three in tonight’s show (8-9 p.m. ET).

Finalist Cassadee Pope’s “Stupid Boy” heads the iTunes Top 10 overall singles chart and fellow finalist Terry McDermott’s “Let It Be” is now the #2 on the iTunes Top 10 overall singles chart. Another finalist, Nicholas David, is now ranked at #4 in the same category. Trevin Hunte, is rated at #4 on the iTunes R&B chart for “Wind Beneath My Wings” and McDermott’s “Let It Be” tops the iTunes Rock Charts followed by his “I Want to Know What Love Is” at #2 and his “Maybe I’m Amazed” is ranked at #5 in the same category.

This show is a BEAST on iTunes.

This is how we know The Voice is better than X Factor.

It’s a beast for about 24 hours each week. It’s only so high because this season, if a song gets into the iTunes T10 for even a minute, each download of it counts as 10 votes (instead of 1 vote).

Up through the T8 episode, they had 2 songs break 50k. S1 had 3 before the finals, without the somewhat tacky x10 bonus.

Using the US version of Xfactor as your threshold for pure suck doesn’t make the “artists” on the voice any more viable. These are all garbage talent across the board and none of them ever have a chance in the public eye. Its all unwatchable karaoke trash.

The Voice still cannot produce a contestant who is successful after the show. These performance singles mean nothing in terms of success of a contestant…. So far The Voice is 0/2 in finding a winner who can sell…

American Idol has proven to be the “King” of all talent shows. 12 seasons in and their still producing current stars

this mean nothing! carly rose sonenclar from x factor is going to be a huge superstar in the world! her audition has 19.431.251 viewers!!! this is a winner, nobody from the voice is going to be like her! i mean from AI only kelly and Carrie are the biggest, the other are ok! and the show always have a huge rsting! so it doesn’t matter is the voice win the rating because XFactor have the stars

Cassadee Pope hit #1 again, and she has a song that was #1 a month ago that is still in the top 50.

I think she has staying power and is already a star.
Cassadee Pope has the number 49 song on iTunes that was released on November 19, 2012 and today is December 11, 2012. She is a star. NBC must be very happy that The Voice singer is a star.

Let’s not forget last seasons contestants charting on itunes after last nights performances :

    26.RaeLynn – Boyfriend
    51.Juliet Simms – Wild Child

And Chris Mann’s album “Roads” is charting at 32 on itunes albums chart.

The Voice singles have nothing to do with ones success after the show… Javier Colon and Dia both hit #1 on iTunes on season 1. They both flopped hard. Also every song performed on the show is going to get a bump after their performance. Just like The Voice singles, the alumni who preformed on the show will see the singles drop fast a day or 2 after

The most talented singer I have ever heard on one of these talent shows is Terry McDermott. His performance of “More Than a Feeling” was amazing.
