Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Patriots/Texans) was simulcast on the CBS affiliate in Houston and the ABC affiliate in Boston. As a result, the CBS and ABC numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals.

CBS was number one with adults 18-49, and with total viewers.

On CBS, How I Met Your Mother earned a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating up 6% from last week's 3.1. 2 Broke Girls scored a 4.0, up 14% from last week's 3.5 among adults 18-49. A second new episode of 2 Broke Girls garnered a 3.9 versus Mike & Molly’s 3.1 last week in the time period. Hawaii Five-O notched a season-high 2.7 up 17% from last week's  2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Take these numbers with a football-sized grain of salt.

On NBC, a one hour episode of The Voice earned a 3.8, down 3% from last week's 3.9 adults 18-49 rating. The premiere of game show Take It All garnered a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating up 47% from a 1.5 for the debut of last year’s Who’s Still Standing on December 19, 2011 About 14% of you were dead on in your predictions.  Michael Buble: Home for the Holidays special earned a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating down 48% from a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating for last week’s Blake Shelton special.

On ABC, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition earned a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating at 8PM, up 44% from last week’s 0.9.and a 1.5 at 9PM, up 36% from last week's 1.1. However, these numbers should be taken with a grain of salt due to football preemptions.

On FOX, the American Country Awards scored a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, down 30% from last year’s 2.0.

On the CW, 90210  earned a 0.6. up 20% from last week's 0.5 adults 18-49 rating. Gossip Girl garnered a  season-high 0.5, up 66% from last week's 0.3 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Cassadee Pope has the number 49 song on iTunes that was released on November 19, 2012 and today is December 11, 2012. She is a star. NBC must be very happy that The Voice singer is a star.

Nobody but nobody can sing “White Christmas” like Bing Crosby and Michael Buble had to put his 2 cents and fall flat on his face.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Max Vrany & Nick

Thanks a lot guys! I’m just getting too old for this. But like we discussed last week I’m biting my nails for those cable numbers.

I’m hoping ABC takes the bigger hit, but CBS will probably be hit just as bad.

  • Deo

    @THE OLD MAN

You do know Castle was a rerun, don´t you?

  • carl

Damn it people! You should talk about The Voice ratings and not the show itself. Hate these spoilers.

  • Jared

Nice to see 9O21O up..I love that stupid show!..lol

  • LT

The ABC affiliate in Boston will be a bigger inflation than CBS. My Patriots spanked Houston. Brady is the best ever, enough said. But Patriots dominant victory probably hurt the ratings from hitting it’s full potential.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ a p garcia

If I may put my 2 cents in, Rosemary Clooney also does a knockout version of White Christmas & I have spent the better part of my life trying to figure out whose is better, RC or Bing.

Will just have to continue listening until I can figure it out!

  • ateofi

H50 increase in ratings was to expected – still I’m gladto see these naumbers :) I wonder how it will do when “Castle” comes back and when new NBC new show “Deception” premieres in January 2013.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Deo

Yes! Why would that stop me?

  • Dillan

Pretty good night for The CW.

This is why 90210 will get a final season. I’m shocked about GG, this season really has been awful. I’m expecting a 0.6 for next weeks series finale.

    Very good for 2BG!

  • Honey Badger

@ carl , you obviously do not watch The Voice. They give the iTunes results at the beginning of the Show.

As for Cassadee Pope winning it all, that is just my personal opinion of what should happen, they haven’t even gotten past the final 4 yet.

And I think the iTunes votes have an effect on the people watching the show and ratings. If The Voice has many stars and they sell a lot of songs, more people will watch The Voice in the future. NBC will be very happy with the ratings

  • Billy

Considering 2 Broke Girls did not face The Voice last night and had The Big Bang Theory lead in I thought it would do better. After the Houston adjustment it will not even be a season high.

  • mindilee

So now H50 is like some of the other nights where shows do well just because there is no competition, yet no one seems to pick on them as much as they do this show. Good episode last night once you got rid of Tom Arnold!! And coming off a major weekend snowstorm I gotta say I could almost feel the warmth of Hawaii!

  • JONNYSBRO

The voice did well for just being an hour. My prediction Cassadee pope will win. She is most marketable and the shows best chance at a star. I have really enjoyed this voice season.

Great CBS numbers. The big bang repeat doing 10 million is crazy. CBS should just keep it it boosts everything for CBS plus its cheap cheap until they found something good. 2 broke girls is doing excellent. Bravo Hawaii 50 I love that show I think it would be great after NCis la on Tuesday night.

  • bluejays

    @Marge and June

Vegas has similar competition to what HFO had last night most weeks, and does a 1.6. CSI regularly gets a 2.5 up against the mid-ones of Chicago Fire and the lacklustre Nasvhille. Please can you tell me why you aren’t both regularly slating Vegas and CSI as well?

And Elementary has been pulling low two’s for weeks and weeks now against Scandal, also with low two’s until the last couple weeks, and the one and below rock center!

So your point about HFO is frankly nonsense – unless you apply it to ALL CBS ten pm shows.

  • K

    @carl

    Do you really care?

  • K

Between Castle, Buble, and H50 there really was nothing on at 10pm on regular TV. H50 “won” because it was the best of a bad lot.

  • cc

Where TBBT goes, ratings seem to follow.

Enough of these country “awards” shows already! Where’s the real country artists? Now that might be worth watching.

  • katie bug

How come people talk about the drop with H50 but yet not with any other show? Last Thursday, in the prelim. Two and a Half men had 4.2 and a 12 while POI dropped to 3.2 and a 9. How is this different than what happens with Two Broke Girls and H50? What am I missing other than Five-0 seems to get no respect?
