December 12, 2012 (Burbank, California) ? Continuing to add more year-round original programming, The CW has ordered two new reality series: THE HUNT, a thrilling, one-hour competition series, and PERFECT SCORE, a unique twist on finding the ideal mate, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. Premiere dates will be announced at a later time.

THE HUNT is an intense wilderness competition taking place over one month, as 12 teams of two are provided no food, water, or shelter, but must compete in a game where they'll rely on their physicality, survival skills, and hunting skills to endure their conditions, capture one another, and ultimately win a huge cash prize. Executive produced by David Garfinkle (“Ready for Love”), Jay Renfroe (“Ready for Love”) and Greg Goldman (“Ready for Love”), THE HUNT is from Renegade 83 and Blackbird Television in association with Warner Horizon Television.

PERFECT SCORE puts a unique twist on dating game shows by not only giving players a chance to win a date, but also the opportunity to win cold hard cash -- IF they can successfully identify their perfect match. In each half-hour episode, two friends compete to see who can pick their ideal mate from a group of 12 prospective singles, after both the players and the contestants have taken compatibility tests. These tests are used to assign cash values to each possible match, and the player who selects the most compatible single – with the highest cash value – wins the cash prize and the date! Created and executive produced by Scott St. John (“America’s Got Talent,” “Deal or No Deal,”), PERFECT SCORE is from FremantleMedia North America (“American Idol,” “The X Factor,” “America's Got Talent”).

We don’t know that these show are for the summer. Remember fridays at 9/8 doesn’t have a show. These are probably midseason replacements and if these reality shows don’t make it to the air by May. They will be put on in the summer.

The Hunt looks much more like a Survivor ripoff than a Hunger Games ripoff.
Anyway, both shows look terrible and I won’t be watching.

And since I have no life and nothing better to do, a fantsy schedule for the CW’s Summer 2013:

    8: Braking Pointe
    9: Hart of Dixie (R)

    8: Perfect Score (new)
    8:30: Perfect Score (new)
    9: America’s Next Top Model

    8: Oh, Sit
    9: The Hunt (new)

    8: The Vampire Diaries (R)
    9: Supernatural (R)

    8: Nikita (R)
    9: 90210 (R)

so this are oficcialy the first Hunegr Games?

  • Eric_Philly

No! Bad CW! Bad! Don’t do that!

  • thesnowleopard

Yuck. If you’re going to do so much reality programming, CW, at least try harder to make it interesting.

*facepalm* Wow… are they serious? Basing a reality show off The Hunger Games… which is essentially a satire of reality show… The message you’re constantly being told is ‘the hunger games is bad’ so CW recreate it as much as legally possible… how does that make sense?

    New low.

I am sure both of these shows will be on during the summer with Oh Sit and Breaking Point. Good to see the CW is trying different reality shows. I am not a fan of reality shows myself well, except for a few of them. But most of them dont interest me. The Hunt i will check out the other one sounds kind of boring. I do hope they both do well for the network.

Oh and ANTM will be on during the summer too. So that means they will have 5 reality shows for the summer. That being most likely these are for the summer because they just gree lit them i dont think they will have them ready to go in a month for Fridays by that time.

LOL at the idiots who thinks The hunt is a hunger games ripoff! Are they picking two people from different districts and then forcing these people to kill eachother? NO!!! It is a replica of Survivor in a sense, however I think it will have its own brand. I am actually interested in this reality show “The Hunt” as I have never watched a reality show on the CW.

Actually I just clicked on this post to see how lame the reality shows sounded. Much to my surprise I ended up finding The Hunt quite intriguing. Here is to the CW ripping off the Hunger Games….. Stupid Morons….

So i guess One Tree Hill was a rip off of Dawsons Creek.. I mean OTH started the following season that Dc ended and they both were filmed in NC and were about teens/parents and growing up.

Nikita not only followed La Femme Nikita but also reminded a lot of viewers of Alias. I guess CW just had to have a copy cat action show.

The Vampire Diaries copied Twilight.. Which I have heard a lot, however its books were well written way before Twilight was thought of. CW shame on you for trying the whole vampire phenomenon at its peak.. In CW defense VD is the highest rated show on the Network.

I could keep going and going, however I just don’t want to.

The point to this little banter is that The Hunt is NOT a copycat of The Hunger Games. Maybe it sounds somewhat like Survivor but I doubt the hunger games fully influenced this reality show.

There are such things called as a GENRE people. It’s not called copying. It’s called similarity in the hopes of developing its own brand and style. I seriously doubt that the hunt will go the extreme lengths of Hunger Games to prove your invalid points correct!
