Fox News will finish 2012 as the year's most watched cable news channel. This is the 11th consecutive year that FNC has been the top cable news channel among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. FNC was the number three basic cable channel in primetime, behind USA and ESPN in Total Viewers. In Total Day, FNC came in fourth. Overal, it was FNC's second highest rated delivery ever in Total Viewers for both Primetime and Total Day.

FNC had 2012's top 11 cable news programs in Total Viewers, including The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity, Special Report With Brett Baier and On the Record with Greta Van Susteren. The channel also had the top 7 programs among Adults 25-54.

It was also a strong year for MSNBC, which had two of the top ten programs among Adults 25-54, The Rachel Maddow Show and Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell.

Let the liars try to spin this!

The important point here, as Roger and Rupert already know, is that the ratings of Fox News personalities are collapsing and the ratings of MSNBC’s personalities are growing quickly. Hannity and Greta are in real trouble and Bill O holds on by attracting an audience skewed to old age.

Hey you conservatives, way to go. Congratz.. Fox News is the top cable network of the year. But we dems have the bigger prize.. 4 more years of BARACK OBAMA.. holla… lol..

  • aok98

OK, so Fox had the largest audience. However, with all the blowharding, they didn’t have an audience large enough to sway the election.

All that money and their own channel, it really should tell the Republicans something about themselves.

Trust me, Obama is the greatest gift to Conservatism imaginable. The prospect of what he’ll do to our country over the next four years will not only destroy his legacy, but will tarnish the Democratic Party for years afterwards. And conservative pundits will reap the financial benefits.

Congratulations to Fox News and here’s to a 12th ♔ straight!
Wishing Barack Obama excellent health in ☭2013.

You libs are funny with your “your own channel” comments and propaganda channel comments when MSNBC opinion hosts are meeting with Dear Leader directly to get their tax debate marching orders. Take away all the bribes and gimmes that Dear Leader promised and see where he is at. Just like the councilwoman in Detroit said: we voted you in now pay up, (paraphrasing). If I dangle a dog bone in front of my lab, he will follow me anywhere no questions asked.

    What about CNN? LMFAO!

The good thing about Fox News watchers and conservatives is that they’re all old and will die out in a few years LOL

Moncon—you brought up a very good point. There exists a thing called “conflict of interest”. As defined: “A conflict of interest is a set of circumstances that creates a risk that professional judgment or actions regarding a primary interest will be unduly influenced by a secondary interest.”

The recent MSNBC/White House powwow has destroyed any credibility that those particular individuals had as “legitimate journalists”. They are now officially spokespersons for the Obama administration, not a news organization. Normally, journalists get fired for such things.

When I was in my 20’s I had the same liberal views of life as they do now. Funny what happens when you get married, have kids, buy a house, build a business, (or career). Your attitudes and outlook on life changes. I was a big MSNBC watcher but could not take their arrogance, hateful speak and demeanor and the way they ridicule someone of an opposing view. Outside of Hannity I don’t get that same vibe from FOX. Do I buy everything they say hook, line and sinker? Heck no. But I do have my personal experiences being a small business S-Corp that have affected what I do or don’t believe coming from the news/government.

Sara Bibel forgot to mention the following:

“MSNBC has the most growth of any cable news channel, and will see double-digit improvements in just about every ratings category and time period.”

    LOL at mark2

When you start so low you either go up or out of business.

Yikes! Mediabistro forgot to mention Comedy Central. Shame on Sara.

Fox News numbers have dropped drastically this year, while MSNBC has improved exponentially in the past year.

So what I’d like to know is what is that ACTUAL figure, they can say that “This is the 11th consecutive year that FNC has been the top cable news channel among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54″ Who are these adults you speak of? What is the PERCENTAGE of Americans who watch FNC? Yes, I understand you have the most views of the MAJOR CABLE news casts. So, that being said, what REAL TIME PERCENTAGE OF AMERICANS WATCH THE FNC? And what I also would like to ask is; If FNC has the LARGEST following (or so the numbers would indicate) why is it that you, FOX as a WHOLE, are so afraid of those you let on your shows, with left-winged ideas, to speak about their ideas in a NON-CONFRONTATIONAL manner? You have the largest cult following, you’re ideas (like it or not) are pounded into the everyday way of American life every chance you get. We know who owns you, we know you are bought and paid for (granted some, not all). I truly believe that there are many of you who want to do the right thing but, can not. Why? I believe out of fear. Someone has led you to believe that they have power over you. Take away their ILLUSION, show them they do not have power over you or, anyone else in the world. The male of the human species only has one weapon, brute force. Show them that no matter how many bones they break, they WILL NOT break the human spirit. Yes, this means you may have a broken leg or, even worse. Some may never even know what you did for them but, you will. I ask you join those who are no longer afraid, stop those you know further hate and, intolerance for what they speak.. Yeah, this may not get posted but, at least I can say I tried to reach out to you. I ask that who ever is responsible for proofing these posts, please, leave this one so others in your position may see you are no longer afraid? I ask ALL REAL JOURNALIST to stand up for what they once believed in, TRUTH IN JOURNALISM… Be not afraid, you are not alone any longer.
