    I blame ABC ‘s inconsistent scheduling for it’s Wednesday night comedies dropping so much. Sometimes The Middle is on other time it’s not. Sometimes MF is on other times its not, you just never know anymore. Hopefully January February will be kind to ABC

    @joseph…please tell me you’re joking…please…

  • A.E

    from the look of tonight ratings i think that 12.12.12 concert it hurt the ratings in every network.

  • The End

    @s0303

    He likely isn’t, just disregard him as a crazy person and move on with your life lol.

    @Ram510

    I agree, though pretty much every show has the occasional blip(Decline), both The Middle and Modern Family did fine though, both shows should be firmly rooted in the renewal zone and fans have absolutely nothing to worry about there.

    What is a 121212 concert? Never heard of it. How can it hurt ratings if i haven’t heard of it and nobody on twitter or facebook mentioned it?

  • Ram510

    @ the end

    Definitely nothing to worry about at all as far as renewals go. I was just pointing out that ever since thanksgiving eve the Wednesday block as been inconsistent scheduled and might have a little something to do with the blip. Even I wasn’t sure if The Middle and Modern Family were new this week

  • Cass rowlwland

    alot of shows are down this week I wonder why

  • Young

    NCIS & as of late, NCIS: Los Angeles keep tearing CBS up!

    8PM – NCIS
    9PM – NCIS: Los Angeles
    10PM – NCIS: New York – my guess

  • THE OLD MAN

    CBS ROCKS & CRUSHES LIKE A BOULDER

  • The End

    @Ram510

    Happy we’re on the same page. And you’re right, guess we just need to hope both shows don’t fall into a downward spiral when they return, which is entirely unlikely mind you.

    Middle Eps 7/8 being on the Nov 7th/14th respectively, and the gap between them and episodes 9/10 pretty much proves your point. This show has been messed around with a bit by ABC.

    @ Young

    I agree New York would be good but I don’t think the next NCIS series will set in New York. The show will be about a group of Agents travelling in the U.S. to solve crimes. Hope you are right !

    UGH Again, Why did ABC give The Neighbors a full season? This show brings the whole night down for ABC. The Barbara Walters special did pretty awful. It’s down from last year and last year it had MF repeat as a lead-in.

    Take It All fell HARD.

  • The Rookie

    Criminal Minds >> NCIS in ratings. Like both shows, no hate there. But I celebrate this since it is quite rare.

  • Ultima

    @Young
    Lead-ins are everything for “scripteds”. Unless you’re NCIS

    … or The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Grey’s Anatomy, The Walking Daed, etc.

    Nonsense. Networks have scheduled this way for decades.

    Ratings are down because it’s December.

  • CenterGravity

    Criminal Minds is murdering the other scripted dramas on broadcast this week!

    So you have the time to complain about it on an internet forum, but you don’t have the ten seconds it takes to look at the schedule?

  • Guest

    Why are people still watching survivor?!… It’s all about the XFactor!!! That’s where it’s at. lol

  • TheMiddleFan

    I’ve watched every episode of “The Middle” faithfully since Season 1, however, I thought last night’s program was definitely one of the weaker efforts. Perfectly suited for a week where holiday preparations take precedence over appointment viewing.

  • Mickey

    Well, that goes to show there is an overlap between CSI and Chicago Fire. CF was 0.5 higher last week when CSI was a repeat.

    @laura

    Stephen A. looks like a piece of wood has the same expression on his face.

    The flashbacks tell a different story. He plays untrained, unhardened Ollie very differently, vulnerable and emotional. Only once he has been tempered like steel through his ordeal and training on the island does he play Arrow as stoic and tough. I personally like stoic and tough heroes. Melodramatic ones annoy me.

    Looks like SPN helped Arrow and Vice Versa.

    Very probably true. Having such a compatible double feature gives people reason to make a genre night of it in front of the TV instead of DVRing just one show to watch when they have a free hour. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arrow’s DVR numbers were up 0.2-0.3 for this week. When Arrow premiered, SPN’s live numbers went up 0.2 and its DVR numbers went down 0.2. So 0.2 worth of viewers simply shifted from DVRing to live viewing.

    Everyone in my twitter timeline was talking about it. It was a concert to raise funds for the victims of Sandy, and it had such newsworthy events as Paul McCartney fronting the surviving members of Nirvana.
