Bev–I think your story is admirable but I don’t follow what you said about lefties pretending that evil doesn’t exist. There are good people, be they left or right or center…..
Even if you banned guns tomorrow their are still 300 mil floating around out there.
usa, most of the people who hurl insults are usually Lefties.
Lefties for some reason think they can legislate out evil. They can’t.
bishop, and that’s ANOTHER good point. And then there would be the entire underground of guns being bought and sold just like the drug world is now.
You all have a good day. I have to go the range. Yesterday’s events have made me more aware than ever of the evil amongst us.
Tonight in Newtown they’re having all types of religious services. They’re having a recreation of the Baby Jesus being born and the nativity scene. They are not laughing at or dismissing spiritualism. They are going to do their best to come to terms with the evil that was brought upon them.
Look no further than our own government for flooding our population with high-powered assault weapons.
In the fall of 2009, ATF agents installed a secret phone line and hidden cameras in a ceiling panel and wall at Andre Howard’s Lone Wolf gun store. They gave him one basic instruction: Sell guns to every illegal purchaser who walks through the door. This gun seller was just one of many to be given this instruction. These guns included AR-15s, semi-automatic AK-pattern rifles, and Colt .38s
A cache of assault weapons lost in the ATF’s gun-trafficking surveillance operation in Phoenix turned up in El Paso, where it was being stored for shipment to Mexico, according to new internal agency emails and federal court records.
Fast & Furious resulted in the deaths of at least 200 Mexicans including the use of AK-47s linked to Mexican attorney’s slaying plus F & F guns linked to at least 11 violent crimes in the U.S plus two deaths.
The program intentionally funneled firearms into the hands of straw purchasers, and the operation’s architects made no apparent attempt to track the weapons. Officials still can’t account for more than 1,000 weapons.
I haven’t trusted the ATF since I saw videos of one of their agents, who was wearing a mask for some reason, pointing one of the “assault” weapons everyone seems so exercised about at then 5 or 6 year old Elian Gonzalez and taking him into custody to be deported to Cuba.
If anyone out there is considering a copycat move, the media bliss alone should push them over that boundary.
Freedom—-the liberal way
In a secret government agreement granted without approval or debate from lawmakers, the U.S. attorney general recently gave the National Counterterrorism Center sweeping new powers to store dossiers on U.S. citizens, even if they are not suspected of a crime, according to a news report.
Earlier this year, Attorney General Eric Holder granted the center the ability to copy entire government databases holding information on flight records, casino-employee lists, the names of Americans hosting foreign-exchange students and other data, and to store it for up to five years, even without suspicion that someone in the database has committed a crime, according to the Wall Street Journal, which broke the story.
Update:
The examiner said that the wounds he examined were from the Bushmaster Assault Rifle.
So apparently it wasn’t left in the car.
-Again, we need to ban all assault weapons.
Mark2
This is a great opportunity for the government to take away all weapon.
Everybody remember politicians love unarmed peasants
@Pippa
Person Of Interest tied Grey’s Anatomy in the final ratings.
No cable news shows yet again.
Whereas previously the law prohibited the center from storing data compilations on U.S. citizens unless they were suspected of terrorist activity or were relevant to an ongoing terrorism investigation, the new powers give the center the ability to not only collect and store vast databases of information but also to trawl through and analyze it for suspicious patterns of behavior in order to uncover activity that could launch an investigation.
The changes granted by Holder would also allow databases containing information about U.S. citizens to be shared with foreign governments for their own analysis.
A former senior White House official told the Journal that the new changes were “breathtaking in scope.”
The Five number 2 to amongst all cable news shows again.
Mark2 – Current deficit every year = 1.3 Trillion x 5 years = 6.5 Trillion
Your plan produces annually = 1.1 Trillion x 5 years = 5.5 Trillion
—————————————
Not exactly. I cut $100 billion a year so its not 1.3 x 5.
1.2 + 1.1 + 1 + .9 + .8 = $5 trillion
1.1 x 5 = $5.5 trillion.
So I end up with a $500 billion surplus after 5 years.
More on the budget later tonight.
Faith3 – I noticed that too. No one has addressed the reason we should make military style weapons legal for the general public to use. I’ve never heard of a good argument yet.
—————————–
The same reason the general public can by a car with 300+ HP. You want those cars banned too?

Fox News ratings are collapsing and MSNBC’s are on fire. The Koch Bros strategy for 2014 and 2016 is to continue to suppress the vote and gerrymander the districts to prevent democrats from voting. This is the only sure way to try to win an election because the right knows it can’t win on its platform because the majority of American disagree with the right wing agenda.
