@Kayla…I can take the heat. I dont think you can. You are a very bitter and negative person. Please go watch your yawn fest DOOL. It seems you can dish it to others, but sure cant take it!!

  • TimsDale4ever

There’s a post on this site that says that discussions are back on about bringing OLTL and AMC back on the air via Prospect Park. I don’t mean with repeat episodes either. YES and PLEASE do!!!! At least it’s still being talked about which gives me new hope again. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jonboyelk

@timsdale I’ve been wondering for years if Melody wears a back brace or something. She walks like she’s got a pole up her….well, somewhere.

  • Jeff

Yesterday’s GH rocked the house– AGAIN! Even Ugly Betty and Felix are growing on me. Maybe it’s the Christmas spirit or maybe their Dorothy and Scarecrow schtick on the way to see the Wizard (Lucy Coe) got at me! Keep it up GH. Here’s hoping for the 50th, they will be bringing back Laura, Brenda, Bobbie, Jax, Nikolas, and Lucky.

  • Jeff

Also, who do you think Dr. Albrecht’s (?) kid is? She clearly alluded to understanding the connection between mother and child. Either, somehow her kid died because of some connection to Robert and Anna or the kid is someone on GH either now or in the past. Thoughts?

  • Kayla Rae

@Reality, you are the one complaining about my posts. I’ve never complained about the posts that are critical of DOOL as I have no problem with others expressing their opinions here. YOU are the whiner who can’t take critical review of show(s) you happen to like. Again, if you are not mature enough to handle this discourse then maybe you should consider living in a plastic bubble.

  • jonboyelk

@LynTX and @reality It’s a hopeless cause attempting to reason with Kayla Rae. She just doesn’t “get it.”. Take a hint from me and skip over her posts. You’ll sleep better.

What’s up with DOOL? Most storylines and characters are set at the rectory! Nicole working at a church, pleeeease. No wonder ratings have tanked. Seriously, who honestly thought this new church focus who reel in new viewers?! Unless they are revisiting the demon possession storyline- if so hurry up-it’s soooo slow right now.

In regards to the potential Y&R cast departures, I’m not really surprised. The soap seems rather schizophrenic when it comes to its cast…some characters will be featured wall-to-wall for a short time and then fall off the face of the earth.

Neither Stephen Nichols (Tucker) or Jessica Heap (Eden) have been featured much lately. I don’t know why producers brought Eden back from Europe shrouded in mystery only to not explore the story. Tucker is introduced during the period of time that Eric Braeden (Victor) had left in a salary dispute and was probably envisioned to be a Victor-type businessman. But, when Braeden returned, it seemed like the writers had nothing for Tucker to do.

There is a third character/actor departing Y&R. Michael Graziadei (Daniel) will not renew his contract when it expires and will reportedly be written out in early January. Again, not really surprising, as Graziadei hasn’t been seen on camera – in any significant amount of time – in months.

@jonboyelk…you speak the truth. No reasoning at all with kayla rae!! I will be sure to skip over all her posts from now on. Not worth it. Happy Holidays!

I for one hope Stephen Nichols heads back to GH as Stefan Cassadine. I would like for him to be on DAYS again but the way the show is going lately (I seriously fell asleep trying to watch it yesterday) I want him back on GH because I know these current DAYS writers would stink his return up. Ron Carlivati knows how to write the vets and I have no doubt in my mind he would come up with a great storyline for Stefan.

I am willing to go out on a limb and say Frank and Ron are probably trying to contact him. After all look at how fast they snatched up Ian Buchanan after his exit from DAYS. I would love to have Stefan back on GH. It has been so good lately! I am loving that we are getting the Q’s, the vets and great stories that honor GH’s history and remind me of the 80’s. I am even liking Sonny lately because he has been written like he was in the 90’s. A caring compassionate man who happened to be a mobster. Frank and Ron have made me love the character of Sonny again which I thought I never would after Guza ruined him.

I also want to praise them for revitalizing characters and writing them true to their characters. Some characters were so ruined but he managed to bring them back from the Guza mess. A lot of my friends have said they are enjoying GH so much and DVR everyday and have said it hasn’t been this exciting since the 80’s. Rock on GH I am loving every minute of the show and cannot miss an episode. I DVR every day.

  • Brad

I also want to say I seriously hope All My Children and One Life to Live come back. There is some bad news on the DAYS front though. NBC is laying off almost 50 people who work on DAYS as lighting producers ETC. With the way DAYS has pretty much lost half the 18-34 and 18-49 demo it had a year ago and the show hitting all-time ratings lows I’m going to say NBC might hand it the pink slip. This could be it’s last go around. But NBC has surprised me before so maybe they will renew it again. Who knows.

  • Kayla Rae

I sure hope Steven Nichols comes back to DOOL where he belongs! What he created with his characterization of Steve/Patch was remarkable. The whole Patch/Kayla supercoupld rocked…and no one creates super couples like DOOL!
I’ve been trying to watch more GH lately as I’ve been hearing it’s improved…and I do think it has improved a little. But it still cannot draw me in like DOOL does. I used to be an avid GH fan but the show just has lost its lustre as far as I am concerned.

I’m confident that DOOL will be renewed. The NBC execs have a real fondness for this venerable show and they receive more encouraging e-mails from DOOL fans than any other show. Go Days!

  • Kayla Rae

Oops! Meant to say “supercouple” not “supercoupld” in my previous post. Hiccup.

  • bloodboxing

Interesting week for the soaps no doubt let me start with DOOL though and what Brad was saying, these layoffs have been happening every year to keep the budget low so they can continue to say on air. NBC has been surprising us with DAYS so I would like to see what happens with that. The show itself has gotten a lot better as they finally got some sort of direction on there.

Y&R is still boring but I see some bright spots but its going to take them a while to get the show on a GH type of run.

What’s really interesting right now is this AMC and OLTL revival stuff it looks like its going to finally happen this time. What’s going to be interesting is this contract situation that the two shows have with PP. There’s been some word that ABC’s media partners are interested in having the shows revived for television so there’s a real possibility if ABC decides not to renew the contract with PP that they will keep them for themselves and revive them for television and maybe syndicate them like they did with Katie.

I watch, and mostly enjoy all 4 daytime soaps, but the return of AMC & OLTL would be so great. So many possibilities to breathe new life into the genre. I pray it happens in some form. call me a “delusional soap fan” I really don’t care. I always believed it could work if TPTB wanted to make it work.

  • jonboyelk

I enjoyed OLTL but I honestly can’t see myself watching it online. I have a hard enough time keeping up with all the stuff I DVR. I just wonder how many actors are still available. It’s been a year, certainly some have moved on to other projects. I wouldn’t want to see Todd leave GH, but wouldn’t mind if Starr and McBain left for their old home. My perfect scenario: put them back on ABC in half hour format in the Chew time slot. I would think a half hour show would be cheaper to produce and, with these drastic ratings drops we see with the current one hour shows, maybe reverting to the half hour format would be a less time consuming committment for viewers.

  • lilogie

I’m not watching because of the holidays, I’m not watching because the writing sucks and the show is boring. I don’t understand what Sony was thinking putting someone known as a soap killer! as head writer! Can’t stand the show, I miss it too cuz I have watched since I was a pre-teen and 30 yrs now gone and wasted.

  • LynTX

Its alomost like the writers for the remaining soaps are all ‘grasping at straws’! Scripts now resemble the reality shows. Viewers are not that shallow.

I, for one, would love to see a strong female character – not just scheming to get a man! We are more. And TPTB wonder WHY they can’t attract new audience.

  • MBmomof3

I can’t believe on Y&R they are still discussing the company dress code. I suspect the casual dress code is really just MAB’s way to save money on wardrobe’s designer suit budget.
