Thanks for posting that, very interesting!

“Is it surprising that Big Bang has so clearly surpassed Modern Family as the top broadcast show this year? It’s an older show and has a lower HUT time slot, but it really seems to have caught fire. Does it help that it has a popular (if also old) show airing after it after a couple of years of mostly being followed by bombs, while MF is part of a weaker lineup overall?”

My guess is that it’s the continuing cable syndication for TBBT that’s helping its broadcast ratings.

Modern Family starts airing on USA in Fall, 2013 I believe. I wouldn’t be surprised if it sees a similar benefit.

Glad to see Greys sinking. Its been rubbish for years.

    @Bill Gorman

    Yes, non-sports is correct.

@cabose —>>> “@rob60990 This is where you are wrong. Having that lead-in means nothing because the combo of TBBT and TAHM appeal to entirely different audiences than POI. TBBT ant TAHM are comedies. POI is a Drama.

For example, I do not like TBBT or TAHM. However, I like POI. Most of my friends are the same.”

Exactly, I too do not watch TBBT & TAHM but have never missed a single ep of POI which is the best show ever on TV imho.

Despite the drop those r still good ratings for scandal and Max shut up and move to Mars

  • Ali

Max, you are an idiot! enjoy your three tenths downward adjustment :) Merry Christmas!

Um people watch comedies & dramas you know…

I love how you all rag on Max and call him names and yet you respond to him every single post?

He makes a minimal number of comments and generates a good 10-15 directed solely to him! And he doesn’t even respond to majority of you.

Who is really winning? I’ll go with Max for $1000. Scandal is up and Max makes one comment that gets everyone throwing fire. And yet he comes back the next week to great news and ya’ll still end up upset.

    Give. It. Up.

Well i agree with you for some parts, but to be honest not completly true. For old hit shows you are right they don’t need lead-in, they are lead-in. Greys is droping fast every year and last resort is from this year. But not sure that for new shows you are right. Not at all.

Example #1 all new shows without good lead-in COLLAPSE in last 3-4 seasons. This season even more.

Example #2 even TBBT wich is beast now was protected like new show from TAHM when TAHM was beast in its rookie and even SECOND season.

Although if new show is bad no one can save it – Partners, how to be gentelmen collapse with 6.0 BBT lead-in in secon episodes. Rob with BBT lead-in again, etc. But to be fair new shows need good lead-in for 2-3 seasons. My friend Eridapo is very good in math and say that good lead-in give 2/10 more wich is goot but also build solid fan base.

In the end about POI its good thing i mean TAHM lead-in. BUt POI ratings are much more affected than big sports-footbal games and NBA playoffs as you can see from last season analysis than anything else.

    Person Of Interest (9:01-10:01PM) 2.9/8 14.08
    Grey’s Anatomy (9-10:02PM) 2.9/8 8.17

So, does this count as a victory for POI over Grey’s?

  • BoB

Man people are like kids fighting about scandal and revenge …

  • rob60990

“So, does this count as a victory for POI over Grey’s?”

Tying a 9 year old show is no victory.

  • Melissa

Does anyone know if Grey’s Anatomy is currently syndicated? I know it used to air weekdays on Lifetime, but they don’t run it anymore. Also, did anyone notice how Grey’s Anatomy has consistently dropped a tenth every week since November 8?
    *3.3 – 11/8
    *3.2 – 11/15
    *3.1 – 11/29
    *3.0 – 12/6
    *2.9 – 12/13

  • LT

Totally agree. Lol Max owns these people. Haha

  • rob60990

@Melissa, thanks for posting but that won’t stop the POI crazies. ;)

  • The Original J

“Max” is really Bill Gorman. It’s how he manages to be the first poster every single week.

    Glad about TVD!!!

  • Petar Ivanov

Love michael emerson picture. Thanks. Great actor.

I doubt Grey’s Anatomy is going anywhere in a long time.

Sure, the ratings have decreased. But so have the overall ratings on ABC and every other network. It doesn’t matter if Grey’s Anatomy is getting 2’s next year if everything else they’ve got is getting 1’s.

Who would’ve believed three years ago that the CW. Would beat ABC and NBC in the ratings? Ad it’s not because the CW is getting higher ratings, but because every other network is tanking so hard.
