Person of Interest is steady. I’m happy.

@Robin and BH, i hated the sired Bond to at first, but from the writers point of view it was really clever. The Sired bond was there to speed up Delena, if not for the Sired Bond, Delena would of never happened ever. Elena was always stringing Damon along and never truly admitted her feelings for him. Elena would of continue to do this and Delena would of never happened no matter how much chemistry Elena and Damon have(its genius if you think about it). It was a clever way to bring Elena feeling to the surface without assassinating her character. Elena would of never went to Damon and S3 proved it, let alone sleep with him. Sired Bond “controls actions not emotions”. It was the only plausible way of making Delena happen without assassinating Elena or Stefan’s character.
And the cure, is much more then a simple cure, it opens up countless doors. Who will take the cure, is there even a cure, is the cure silias himself, at first glance it all seemed silly and dull, not its getting really interesting IMO.

I doubt Grey’s Anatomy is going anywhere in a long time.

Sure, the ratings have decreased. But so have the overall ratings on ABC and every other network. It doesn’t matter if Grey’s Anatomy is getting 2?s next year if everything else they’ve got is getting 1?s.

Agreed. In my other post I noted that Grey’s Anatomy is the fourth-highest revenue earning show on TV this season (tied with Two and a Half Men).

@My guess is that it’s the continuing cable syndication for TBBT that’s helping its broadcast ratings.

I think that help HIMYM too last season, right?

Do syndication help for comedies and procedurals the same way like internet streaming help for serialized cable dramas?

LR adjusts down to 1.0 as CW beats both ABC & NBC

The Shonda soaps barely clean up for ABC

Like a boulder crashing off the mountainside, CBS CRUSHES ALL OTHER NETS WITH ANOTHER MONSTER NIGHTLY AVERAGE

  • TVDxItachi

I have a question, when vampire diaries reaches 88 episodes, those that mean it can be syndicated???

  • Flame

As expected, minor down adjustments for CBS in a smaller market (I was wrong about TBBT though) and major ones for ABC in a large one. Guess Philadelphia still watches the Eagles.

    @Person Of Interest (9:01-10:01PM) 2.9/8 14.08
    Grey’s Anatomy (9-10:02PM) 2.9/8 8.17

So, does this count as a victory for POI over Grey’s?

Nope, they are tie. But don’t worry. POI will take that slot from new year. CBS are smart and they air new POI episodes from january 3 wich will be first episodes without footbal. Expext 1 or 2 series highs for POI in january and february and all episodes to be 3+ in demo. Great season, so far.

I am a huge fan of Person of Interest. I would never miss an episode. However, you don’t win over other fans with your posts. Trying to build your show by putting down others just causes animosity. It is a very good show and doing very well but when you persist on using statistics to try and boost the show you should be more careful. Accept the fact that Criminal Minds,
NCIS LA amd Person of Interest are virtually tied. If you want to go outside that then Criminal Minds always grows from its lead in, it is up against stiffer competition and it is in its eighth year. The fact that Person of Interst is growing is expected for a second year show. Why not just be happy that this good show is doing well and guaranteed to return next year. Laud its success.

“Modern Family starts airing on USA in Fall, 2013 I believe. I wouldn’t be surprised if it sees a similar benefit.”

Could be. Traditionally no-laugh-track comedies don’t do very well in syndication, but MF is more broadly popular (and has fewer story arcs) than most single-camera shows. It’ll be interesting to see whether it performs up to USA’s expectations.

  • Nick

Yes. 88 episodes is the landmark most channels interested require to buy the rights to air a show in stripped syndication. You have to be aware, though, that syndication is simply airing repeats of the repeats of a show on a different channel. Stripped syndication is when they are aired on a daily basis. There is no episode limit for regular syndication, but stripped syndication is so much more efficent for both the channel buying the rights and the studio producing the show that owns the rights.

    CBS 3.4 > FOX 2.2 > ABC 2.1 > NBC 1.0

Other than Kaley Cuoco looking smoking hot TBBT wasnt even that great of an episode. (and its one of my favorite shows)

  • Ram510

It cool seeing GA and Scandal narrowing the ratings gap between them. But with GA still having twice as many viewers is it safe to say they don’t share that much of an audience. I know I never miss and episode of Scandal live, yet don’t watch GA at all

  • Max

So for those unaware, this is the second consecutive episode of SCANDAL that has bested the mid-season finale of REVENGE. Yes, I am fully on board with the whole “you shouldn’t compare an episode of REVENGE that aired two weeks ago to any SCANDAL” episodes but the point is this…

while REVENGE is slipping and will continue to do so when it returns because it is on ABC Sunday (a night that gets killed by football and award shows this time of year), SCANDAL is going to continue to flourish because people have finally realized what an amazing show it is.

Perhaps ABC could ship REVENGE back to Wednesdays? LOL. I’m sure the minimal audience it has by then will follow…

    This is a solid week.
SCANDAL fantastic, AMERICAN HORROR STORY ASYLUM continues the downward trend, and more and more fans realizing the awesomeness that is SCANDAL.

@Nick, you think vampire diaries will be sold in syndication when it reaches it 88 episodes? How will that effect TVD in general??(Will it gain more money for the production of the show or will CBS and Warner brothers just get more cash?) When it airs on other channels, how would they go about the airing of the episodes, will it be in order, will the show be promoted on the other channel, how would the ratings look like, I know SPN airs on TNT in the mornings, how are the ratings like for SPN there?

  • Ram510

Oops I was looking at PoI viewers

  • were123

Scandal = Revenge. Both shows got 2.4 in their mid season finale, and it’s great for both

  • TVDxItachi

Whats so good about scandal and what separates it from Other TV shows. I never seen the show but it always trends worldwide on Twitter right after TVD. I’m watching Homeland at the moment, can scandal compare in terms of “entertainment” to the top tier shows we have today??
