    Happy for POI! Greys is okay nothing to speak ill of. As long as I get another season of POI its all good

  • grant

    Hahha scandal. revenge still beats it

  • Melissa

    @lll

    Stop with the Grey’s / POI comparison. No one wins when there is a tie in the demo.

    Actually, Grey’s Anatomy wins because it’s the fourth-highest rated show on television in the C+3 adults 18–49 ratings, which is the basis for advertising pricing, so it makes significantly more money than Person of Interest. Person of Interest is not even ranked in the top ten for the C+3 adults 18–49 ratings. In addition, Grey’s Anatomy is nine seasons old, compared to sophomore Person of Interest, and Grey’s Anatomy also dominates the youthful adults 18–34 demo, which is a big target for advertisers.

    So devastate for Last Resort. It was amazing last night. I’m just trying to enjoy the episodes we have left

  • Carol

    Great to see POI doing so well in such a tough time slot. It was an excellent, exciting episode last night..I’m thinking it is solidly above 3.0 in the demo by the end of the season.

  • AA

    LMAO at Scandal.

    How are u holding up ‘Max’? Stay away from the knife.

  • Leondre

    The X-Factor looks weak. The finale will probably just barely top a 3.0

  • Billy

    I wonder what all the people that predicted Britney Spears would raise the X Factor ratings are thinking now. The X Factor ratings are down about 20% from last year.

    @TVDxItachi

    @Nick, you think vampire diaries will be sold in syndication when it reaches it 88 episodes?

    Almost certainly. If Gossip Girl got a syndication deal, it’ll be a piece of cake for TVD.

    How will that effect TVD in general??(Will it gain more money for the production of the show or will CBS and Warner brothers just get more cash?)

    TVD in general may see an uptick in the ratings, thanks to people discovering it for the first time in syndication. The money from the syndicated episodes would go to the production company, which in this case is a bunch of companies, which include CBS and Warner Brothers. However, if CBS & Warner Bros did not produce TVD, they wouldn’t get any of the profits from syndication.

    When it airs on other channels, how would they go about the airing of the episodes, will it be in order,

    That’s entirely up to the channel.

    will the show be promoted on the other channel

    The channel would not promote the CW airings, but it would promote its own airings of TVD.

    how would the ratings look like

    I would assume they’d be similar to the repeat ratings TVD gets in the summer, so they’d have about a 0.1/0.2 18-49 rating.

    I know SPN airs on TNT in the mornings, how are the ratings like for SPN there?

    SPN does average for TNT mornings, about a 0.3 rating.

    In was a huge Criminal Minds fan with the “Magnificent 7 – M7″ from S3 thru S7 . This season has been getting its footing with a new cast but some of the uber M7 fans have left. Not 20% of audience, but a few decimals from the demo. And yes, overall all shows have declined but in the CM case the fandom is more quiet and with less enthusiasmn as in other seasons. Less fandom, less word of mouth, less must see show, less ratings. No fan excuse bingo – A popular character left – but a plausible explanation based on fan behavior.

    @Billy

    I wonder what all the people that predicted Britney Spears would raise the X Factor ratings are thinking now. The X Factor ratings are down about 20% from last year.

    A lot of people, myself included, predicted that TXF would premiere huge and plummet. However, largely thanks to NBC counterprograming The Voice on the night TXF premiered, the ratings started out terrible and stayed that way. So, it’s not really a surprise that it’s down 20%.

    Bloody Hell . . . Glee fell off just like NBC’s Heroes – except, I never missed a live episode of Heroes.

    I stopped watching Glee for Person of Interest; except for Fringe, I have stopped watching Fox (unbelievable)

  • John

    @Bookworm Scandal has had a couple of good weeks, but let’s settle down. It’s only beaten Elementary twice so far (Elementary has beaten it every other week), and there’s an obvious reason for its ratings spike (a plot event that is not replicable). I’ll be very interested to see what its ratings are like when it comes back. My guess is they’ll be back around the 2.0 that they normally are. And besides, Elementary has its *own* non-replicable event coming up (a post-Super Bowl episode), so it’s way too early to say which show is going to end up winning the time slot overall. Right now, I’d still put my money on Elementary, but we’ll see.

    I came to this website to try and escape from the news of 20 elementary students and 8 adults were massacred in Newtown this morning by a twisted and evil young man. Right now ratings for your favorite show really are not
    that important.
    However for some of us that need to escape from the reality of evil and sorrow, I am one of those people that enjoy a show for per escapism.
    I enjoy B&B and thought last night episode was the best of the season. I realize they have B&B has stiff competition, I hope the CW give it a chance.
    I also think people who are bickering over Scandal and Revenge would realize ABC is not going to cancel either one of those shows. I don’t watch Scandal, and I am a fan of Revenge. I know it sucks when a show you like gets cancelled. The obvious is ABC does not have a show out there to replace the shows. Hug your loved ones tonight. Forget the ratings rat race.

    @Nick, I would think TVD would get higher ratings then SPN repeats. What’s the chances TVD would get good ratings on another channel when syndicated. Like a new channel where the audience is not aware of TVD’s existence and begins to watch the show for the first time ever.. Like 0.8-1.2.

  • Austin Lauran

    It’s related to ABC, but how bad or good will Modern Family do when it’s being rerun on USA Network in less than a year?

  • Nick

    @TVDxItachi

    That would work in theory. In actually, it won’t happen. I highly doubt it would get that good ratings, simply because there are not a lot of people who wouldn’t have been exposed to TVD on The CW but would be exposed to it on the other channel. Also, if it worked that way, we would’ve seen it with other shows that have been syndicated.

  • Nick

    @Austin Lauran

    how bad or good will Modern Family do when it’s being rerun on USA Network in less than a year?

    During the summer, MF usually get between 1.0 and 1.5 in repeats. I’d expect something a little less that that, probably in the 0.8-1.2 range.

  • Billy

    @Austin Lauran

    I don’t think it will do nearly as well in syndication as The Big Bang Theory. TBBT repeats much better than MF and single camera sitcoms do not repeat well or do well in syndication. See The Office and 30 Rock. Going into syndication does not always do great things for show’s ratings. HIMYM has not improved its ratings much since syndication, 30 Rock has done nothing and The Office has done nothing just to name a few. I would not assume just because TBBT has done great in syndication that MF will also.

    Why is it noone watches the last resort I think its getting really good and hasn’t got a chance and was lastnight episode its last?
