@bevAG sorry i’m late with this I meant to post this last week.
1966:
You made my night!!!
Elvis, he had character, he could move. He was so elegantly sexy. Oh, I just swooned!!! :::heart be still:::::
Let’s take take cars away from all law abiding citizens that drink responsible for the chance the may drink and drive in the future.
All I know is if the gov takes my semi – automatic guns away and one day someone with one shows up at my house with one there’s a good chance me and my family will die.
It’s been 18 years since I have even had a speeding ticket. Someone please tell me how taking guns away from law biding citizens will stop this happening in the future.
I want every celebrity, politician, news reporter, news pundit to have to disclose any guns that they have, their bodyguards have or the bodyguards that are guarding their children have if they are calling for gun control.
I want every news station, Fox too, that is calling for gun control to state how many armed guards they have in their buildings, any armed guards they have around any of their news people.
Any celebrity I hear calling for gun control, I’ll be writing to their agents asking them if their bodyguards have guns.
Remember Rosie O’Donnell calling for all sorts of gun control and it turns out the bodyguards she hired to guard her children had guns?
It’s like celebrities, politicians, news people, they all want “the little people” to have gun control, but they’ll all say they need guns to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Well, I say if you’re calling for gun control for “the little people,” you better be prepared to give up your guns as well, the guns you have or the guns your hired bodyguards have.
Look at Bloomberg, that creep, calling for all kinds of gun control and he and his wife have all kinds of armed bodyguards. The hypocrisy makes me sick.
We are going to see a new gun control law. For the none gun owner it’s going to sound like the politicians are really doing something. But it’s only going to ban guns that are already banned. It will limit the size of a clip to something like 6 or 12.
The law will not impact gun crime or gun violence but it will make people feel better. Because that is what the last four years have been about and it’s what the next four will be about. Making people feel better.
AND I think celebrities need to look at their own profession of movies and TV shows that have such horrible killing scenes in them and making killing others some kind of entertainment.
Celebrities should really stop with the pompous, “Oh, we need gun control so people don’t kill each other,” while they’re directing films, acting in films or TV that sensationalize murder and use murder for entertainment. Stop making that garbage and stop having your bodyguard carry guns before you get on the soapbox of gun control.
Actually celebrities are making me more sick then the hypocrit Left and the hypocrit politicians.
@ Bev………………. well said.
@Ninja “Let’s take take cars away from all law abiding citizens that drink responsible for the chance the may drink and drive in the future.”
You sound like old Steve Perry comparing Apples and Oranges, lol.
Trying to compare cars which are desined for transportation to Guns which are designed to kill other Life Forms is like comparing Apples and Oranges.
Accidents will happen all the time. Whether it’s a swimming pool drowning, being hit by a car, electricution, carbon monoxide, sports-related, skydiving, etc.
However, Intentionally killing someone with an instrument that was specifically designed and made to kill other life forms is a completely different category.
If you can’t comprehend that, then maybe you should go through a mental evaluation yourself.
I could kill somebody with a knife, Because a few abuse welfare, we should stop it for all.
@Ninja
Again with the Apples and Oranges analogies…let it go.
I’ll put it to you this way. I’d much rather take my chances against a man with a knife than a man with an Assault Rifle and his High-Capacity magazines full of ammo any single day of my life.
Get the point (no pun intended).
About food stamps and red states being some of the highest using them. Maybe if the government hadn’t been taxing us for so many years, people would have money in savings and not need the food stamps.
Food stamps programs are run differently in every state. For years Michigan give food stamps to college students who were not even Michigan residents.
OHHHHHH Nice turn around!!! First it was people being worthless getting food stamps and how the Government is coddling them. Now it’s the governments fault because they overtax us….GOOD TURN AROUND!!
FNC 10 shows, *CNN 11 shows.
CNN had the number 2 show (Situation Room) in the 18-49 demo 1.0. Congrats to CNN.
FNC’s highest show (Special Report with Bret Baier) had a .05 in the 18-49 demo.
MSNBC had no shows on the list.
HBO to do a Documentary on Bill Clinton.
@Mark2, You have a point if guns are designed and made to kill.
I would say that guns are designed and made to protect the life and property of it’s owner. Less than 1% of the guns legally owned by private citizens have been fired at a human, this includes accidental firings.
Guns can be used to kill by aiming and shooting. A car can be used to kill by aiming and driving into someone or a group.
Anti-gun people always go to “guns are made and used to kill why do you need one.” But crime reports show us that legally owned guns are not used to kill.
So, comparing gun bans to banning other items that could be used in crimes is comparing apples to apples.
Clothes line would be a good item to compare. Clothes line (thin rope) is commonly used in rapes, abductions and strangulation. Many victims’ bodies are found with clothes line around their arms, legs and neck. If the clothes line isn’t found the marks the line made is present. Yet we have never had an out cry for banning clothes line. More children have been killed by their abductors with clothes line then with guns and knives combined. If we added up all the school shoots deaths in all the countries of the world for the last 40 years and the number is still lower than the number of children killed each year in the U.S. with clothes line.
Where is the cries for banning clothes line?!
@Dave—-You have no idea what you’re talking about regarding everyone on Fox saying it would be a landslide. Not true about The Five, not true about Fox and Friends…just not true one bit. The fact that you say that means you have ZERO credibility. You probably read something someone wrote somewhere else and assumed it was true, because you certainly have not watched a moment of FNC to know the truth.
@Mark2—- Regarding O’Reilly, here is a snippet from a 2003 NPR interview:
“I’m not a political guy in the sense that I embrace an ideology. To this day I’m an independent thinker, an independent voter, I’m a registered independent..”
Stick to writing fiction. It’s clearly the only thing you’re good at.
@redbarsoup I’m sure there are people on food stamps that are being coddled because they never had a job or only work when they feel like at. I’m sure there are people on food stamps because they were born with a disability or become disabled and can’t make it without help. And I’m sure there are people on food stamps because they lost their job and are still out of work or had to take a lower paying job and has to take food stamps because people have a hard time saving money with all the taxes we have to pay.
In many cases the government has taken our money, (Social Security is an example) eliminating our personal ability to save for a “rainy day.”
If you spend your food stamps wisely, shop sales, use coupons and don’t get a lot of per made food (If you get per made food at a grocery or 7-11 you can use food stamps). You can get more then you need with food stamps. (My monthly budget for food is less than what the State of Michigan would give us in food stamps if we were unemployed) The problem is some people don’t use them wisely. They will walk across the street to 7-11 get four cooked hot dogs, four big Gulps and four single served chips at a price of $16. Instead of walking three more blocks to the grocery store and buying a pack of 8 hot dogs, a pack of 8 hot dog buns, a large bag of chips and a 2 liter of soda at a price of $8 for twice as much food.
In Michigan, we have replaced food stamps with a bridge card. It’s like a debt card. They say it was done because using food stamps was embarrassing. I think the state saves money because the paper food stamps cost more. But it has problems. People don’t budget well with them. They just spend until it empty. I see kids using them in stores buying soda and candy all the time. By mid-month they are complaining when the card is empty.
Morning everyone
It was a tragic event on friday. The people of Newtown are in my prays.
I am not surprised by the boost in the ratings CNN got on friday, a lot of people that do not regularly watch cable news tune into CNN when there are significant events. The regualr networks have limited coverage because they only have a certain amount of time dedicated for news.
What really surprised me was that MSNBC was flat or down from their typical ratings. Nobody goes to MSNBC for real News, they watch it for Political talk. The number of veiwer tuning in Fox went up from their typical number range in all time slots about 20 to 60%, while number of viewers tuning into MSNBC went down in all time slots except for one and the one that went up was only about 5%. I guess people have an immage of MSNBC and don’t expect anything else.
The Politicians will pass legislation that will accomplish preventing people that would never kill anybody from getting a gun. The people that want to kill somebody will still be able to find guns or some other dangerous devise that can be used as a weapon.
Timothy McVay didn’t use a gun. Blowing up a school wouldn’t be hard to do and the materials that you need are available.
The greatest loss of life in a school attack in the U.S. occurred in 1927 when explosives were used to brow up a school in Bath, MI.
If we look at the data murder is not on the raise in the U.S. However, we feel that it is because of the media and politicians. The media does it for ratings. Politicians do it to control us.
