New comedy 1600 Penn is debuting tonight after The Voice before moving to its normal Thursday timeslot in January.  Will this new comedy fare as well as Take it All did last week in the post-Voice slot, or will the politically-themed sitcom turn viewers off? Make your predictions for this new show below, and defend your choice in the comments!

  • Samuel

It will be a “surprise hit” tonight and then tank in January just like Take It All did last week.

  • Oliver

It’s getting okay reviews but the promos were just horrific. NBC really needs to sort out their marketing department.

Even so, you’d expect a family comedy to do well out of The Voice, no matter how horrific the promos look.

  • Raykov

It will do well tonight (2.7) and then go down in January. It might get some stability ther at around 1.6-1.7.

  • iggy agrimotor

It’s the funniest political show since That’s My Bush or The Secret Diaries of Desmond Pfiefer.

  • Jack S

Somewhere in the 2.1-2.4 range. I’m surprised by how good some of the reviews are because from the promos it looked like the most unappealing of NBC’s new comedies this season.

  • CenterGravity

Mid 2′s tonight and then much lower once it gets to Thursday. Though it could stay close to 2.0 if it strikes a chord with viewers. I plan on watching tonight to see if it’s any good.

  • mike

how nbc show go i dought it last one season

  • Greg

    2.6

Maybe that’s a bit too high, but I’m counting that The Voice will go up considering it’s the finale.

  • THE OLD MAN

2.5-2.9 seems reasonable & with Take It All + a Castle rerun, H50 should be in the same ball park

  • Lewis

With such a huge lead in I would be surprise if it did less than a 3.

  • Jared

Considering it has a great lead in with The Voice in gonna say it does respectable 1.6-2.0 range but I wouldn’t be surprised if it flopped either. Either way tonight’s rating won’t make a difference in the long run. Personally I won’t be checking it out but I’m sure people will.

  • John A

What time will it air on Thursday? 8pm?

  • Oliver

It will air 9:30pm Thursday after The Office.

Parks is moving to 8:30 and Community is taking the 8pm slot after 30 Rock concludes.

  • Rebecca

And 30R concludes with two episodes on Jan. 31st.

Looking forward to 1600 Penn. Nice to see Bill Pullman play the prez again (like in Independence Day).

  • DenverDean

I just have to laugh they would create a show centered on a Prez with Mitt Romney hair. I guess having an African American president in the WH would be too much to ask. That being said, since the humor will be based on making the Prez and his family look stupid, of course, they couldn’t go that route. Will be sampled tonight. Destroyed on Thursdays.

  • Mitchy

It’s craap, will not be watched and shouldn’t.

  • Joseph

It will lose much of it’s lead-in.

Chances are, “1600 Penn” will get no more than one-third of the “The Voice”‘s viewership.
