Exclusive Airing on Friday, December 21st at 6PM et To Precede a Special Presentation of Vanguard Documentary “Fully Automatic America”

New York, December 18, 2012 – Current TV will add its voice to the national gun control debate with an exclusive television airing of Michael Moore’s Academy-Award® winning documentary “Bowling for Columbine” on Friday, December 21st at 6PM et.  The presentation will be followed by a special airing of Current’s Vanguard documentary, “Guns in America” at 8:30 PM et.

“Bowling for Columbine,” which had its theatrical release in 2002, was written, directed, produced and narrated by Michael Moore.  The film is a provocative exploration of the Columbine High School massacre, which occurred in April 1999 in Columbine, Colorado and demonstrates how little has changed since then in gun regulation in America.  This important film is just as relevant now in the aftermath of the horrific school shootings last week in Newtown, CT.  “Bowling for Columbine” brought Moore international attention and received numerous awards, including an Academy Award® for “Best Documentary Feature” and an Independent Spirit Award.

Current will air a special version of a film from its own award-winning Vanguard documentary series, “Fully Automatic America” after “Bowling for Columbine” at 8:30PM et.  “Fully Automatic America” investigates the issues of guns and crime in America, from the gun nirvana of Knob Creek, Kentucky to one of the most dangerous cities in the country, Camden, New Jersey.
