Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Ouch for 1600 Penn given the lead-in. That’s going to crash and burn.
WHy couldn’t GG do better? That finale was totally perfect. Oh well, not like the ratings matter in the end.
Well i’m happy with a 0.7! Either way it’s only a tenth below OTH’s finale last season and considering the season started at 0.3′s/0.4′s. Slightly shocked at 1600 Penn’s low numbers
GG did ok in Viewers but not great in demo.
I actually really liked the Gossip Girl finale… the reveal of Gossip Girl was surprisingly smart.
Not terrible for 1600 Penn, but with a Voice lead-in I’m sure NBC expected better.
Also, The Voice ran until 9:31, so 1600 Penn is likely to be adjusted down.
Good showing by CBS but reality is killing TV in general. It was practically ALL reality last night on networks
And they wonder why network viewership is down and keeps going down
Go figure!
Not even 10 mil for HIMYM and it was a moment that a lot of people have waited for (no, we didn’t meet the mother) a long time.
The actual episode of GG scored a 0.8.
That 0.7 includes the retrospective figure.
Im glad that GG didnt beat OTH finale.
Need more Monday night wins for CBS, but not bad. Hawaii fell by .1, but it’s still doing a lot better than it was in the beginning on the season. I’m also enjoying this season so much more than I did season 2!!!!
BTW the half hours for Gossip Girl via Mark Burman are:
0.6 / 0.7 / 0.8 / 0.8
So if i’m not mistaken the 9-10pm part was the actual episode, right? If so the episode itself scored a 0.8, which is great
So it got a 0.8 from 9-10? I think that’s very good considering the season started with 0.3/0.4′s. The final was great too!
I don’t understand why Charlie Brown specials do well on ABC but awful on FOX… O.o
“1600 Penn” didn’t do that well…
Though down from last season, CBS has to be content that their sitcoms have yet to fall under a 3.0 and 2 of them are getting 10+ million viewers…
1600 Penn flopped. :/
NBC should have done us all a favour and given 1600 Penn the Next Caller treatment. We must have all been naughty this year to get this lump of … lets say “coal” … in our stocking. Whoever gave this the greenlight should be taken out back and beaten. When the aliens attack I’ll be rooting for the aliens. Perhaps then we’ll have Pres. Will Smith & VP Goldblum in a buddy comedy which may in fact be funny unlike this mess. I don’t want to say this was ugly but I’ve seen day old road kill look prettier. This was an insult to anyone whose age and/or IQ is above 10. And incase I’m not being clear, this show was bad … as bad as anything I’ve watched in the last few years … I shall now start to drink heavily in the hopes the alcohol will destroy the brain cells that hold my memory of this turd.
ymmv
“Worse?! How could things get any worse? Take a look around you, Ellen! We’re at the threshold of hell!!” — Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase)
While GG’s finale ratings are kind of sad considering how they started, it shows the fans at least did care about the end, considering that it nearly doubled from the rest of the season, lol.
As for the episode itself, I really did love it. It was a nice ending to the last six years.
This is wrong! the ratings should be apart!! First hour was a special! the finale was on only at 9!! Please post the separated ratings! I know the actual episode did good!
Hoped Himym would go up, solid episodes last night
Wow at GG
And I’m actually surprised HIMYM isn’t higher. But still really good. I bet it’ll be a 3.5+ when it comes back in January
