@Bev “What the country doesn’t know is that California has been under Democrat control for 42 years”

I guess you missed the fact that of the last 45 years Republicans have held the governorship of California for 32 years…that’s right 32 years.

I guess you forgot about the fact a Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was in charge of the State for the last 8 years from 2003 to 2011…he left the State with a mess. Kind of like the mess another Republican I know who left the Office and this Country in a mess. I think we all know who that is, lol.

  • Mark2

@Cathy “If you can find a site that shows a rating number for the people who have access to Cable news channels but watch NBC, CBS or ABC. We can add the in.”

That’s irrelevant. Whether it’s fair or not it makes no difference. The end result is the same. People are watching those stations in huge numbers, just like Hillbilly pointed out.

  • usa8888

Mark2–Cathy is ignorant of the fact that almost 95% of US households have cable or satellite service–so her comment makes no sense….. The fact is that Fox has a very small audience when compared to the total US audience…..

  • BevAG

usa, you have not addressed the fact that California has been controlled by the Democrats for the past 42 years and doing all of your voodoo Democrat Progressive economics, and now we’re just about bankrupt in California. And you can’t blame it on the Republicans holding anything up because the Republicans are irrelevant in California.

Then you add to that what Mt Rick said where Illinois and New York are majority Democrat and have instituted all this voodoo Progressive economics, and they’re right behind California.

Before Republican Governor Christie was voted as Governor of New Jersey because all the Democrats in NJ were crooks from Democrat Governor Corzine — who should be in jail — on down the State of NJ was just about bankrupt from all the Democrat economics. Thankfully, Governor Christie is changing NJ from going bankrupt to at least holding its own….and that’s even with Hurricane Sandy on its heels.

usa, I’m not buying and either is the country buying that Obama’s voodoo progressive economics work. We’ve already seen how it’s failing in California — super majority Democrat — and Illinois and New York — predominantly Democrat.

  • usa8888

Bev–you haven’t seen any of Obama’s policies in California because the right wingers have obstructed all of them. We are talking about the economicas of the country as a whole. As soon as the right wingers stop obstructing, you will see California improve…..

  • BevAG

Mark, even though Arnie (Republican) was Governor he was useless. Besides the fact that he did nothing except have an extramarital affair, it doesn’t matter. We have had Rep Governors in the State of California, but the majority of politicians in the State were Democrats. So it doesn’t matter that the Governor was Republican.

The Republican governor couldn’t do anything because majority of the California Senate and the House has been Democrat. They’re the ones that were running the show in the State of California with all their progressive policies, not the Governor.

That’s the same problem going on in NJ. Thankfully, Governor Christie is being clever and bypassing the majority of Democrats in NJ at every turn. Christie isn’t sitting by letting the majority of Democrats in NJ take down NJ. That’s what Arnie should have done too. But he was too busy looking like a celebrity and having an affair.

That doesn’t change the point that California has been doing voodoo Democrat/Progressive economics for the past four decades, and now we’re going bankrupt. And that is the same with Illinois and New York.

  • BevAG

usa, I’m hoping that the Right Wingers obstruct Obama at every turn.

  • BevAG

Mark2–Cathy is ignorant of the fact that almost 95% of US households have cable or satellite service–so her comment makes no sense….. The fact is that Fox has a very small audience when compared to the total US audience…..

And MSNBC’s audience is WAY, WAY, WAY smaller than FNC’s audience. That there tells you that the country is not on the Progressive bandwagon.

  • cathy

usa8888, again please give me a link to prove your statement. And because you have cable it doesn’t mean you have Fox news on your cable plan.
With 15.1% of American’s living below the poverty level, the high level of unemployment, people getting SS and welfare saying they can’t afford to eat on their current checks from the government. I’m shocked that so many of these people crying for government help are paying $150 – $200 a month for cable. (Fox is a premium cable channel. Premium cable is $150 to $200 a month.)

As for the number of people who watch Fox news. If we are comparing Fox News Channels ratings against the ratings of every other channels available to watch. Of course Fox’s ratings are nothing. But this started with the statement “If CNN and MSNBC were not competing for ratings they would beat Fox News. Because there are more people wanting libs news.” Then Mark2 added ABC, NBC, CBS news shows. Because Mark2 know he had to add ABC, NBC and CBS because FOX news has more viewers than CNN and MSNBC added together.

My point back to Mark2 was that you can count ABC, NBC and CBS new viewer in unless we know they have the ability to watch Fox and decide not to. Again Mark2 says it doesn’t matter. We should count all ABC, NBC and CBS news viewers in the people has want to watch lib news.
Mark2 is showing he true lib/dem colors. When he doesn’t like the numbers he changes rules and facts to try to prove he is right.
Fact is of all Cable News Channels Fox News has more views than MSNBC and CNN combined.

@Bev – usa8888 is just restating the Obama administrations line. He forgets about the 2.5 trillion Obama spent to stimulate the economy in 2009, 2010 when the dems were in control of the House.

  • BevAG

Cathy, you’re correct. Do you remember with Obama’s last stimulus all those shovel-ready jobs we were supposed to have? Well, we saw that didn’t happen. And Obama even laughed about it himself two years later. Obama was laughing that people ACTUALLY believed there were going to be shovel-ready jobs.

I figure Obama and Michelle laugh at all of us all the time because he’s been able to pull the wool over America because he doesn’t have a clue how to manage anything. That one time Obama laughed about the shovel-ready jobs, I think he forgot that he wasn’t in his room with Michelle laughing at the American public. He made a mistake there with that laugh that he made in public.

  • cathy

Obama is laughing all the way to the bank. And he will be for years.

On a lighter notes. Do you think the Secret Service check for sharks before Obama goes swimming? There was been a record number of great whites spotted around Hawaii.

  • BevAG

Cathy, great question!! lol I sure hope none of our Secret Service get bit by any sharks. ::grin::

  • Mark2

@Bev “And MSNBC’s audience is WAY, WAY, WAY smaller than FNC’s audience. That there tells you that the country is not on the Progressive bandwagon”

Actually they are. That’s what Booby and I were talking about earlier. ABC, NBC, and CBS draw over 20 million viewers every night and we all know that those stations are Liberal/Progressive.

  • Mark2

@Bev “even though Arnie (Republican) was Governor he was useless”

Regardless if you liked him or not, he was in Charge. He was the leader of the State. And yes, he was a Republican in charge for 8 years. Much like Reagan Tripled the National Debt, he Tripled the State Debt as well.

Some good ideas in the article below. My middle school (back before the wheel was invented ;) ) only had handles/knobs on the inside of all secondary doors. You could still just walk in the main entrance. Not the school in the article below.

    School safety – source.

It all comes at a cost. Donegan’s school district – with the help of security consultant Paul Timm of RETA Security – has spent more than $175,000 on the system in the last two years. For a district of only three schools and 1100 students, that is a lot of money, but it is all worth it, she said.

Keep this at the local/state level & the prices could come down. I’d bet allot of local communities would raise the funds on their own. Get the fed govt involved prices will sky rocket & it will take years to get the funding. They’ll claim the existing school can’t be fitted with the equipment…need to build a new school.

Some of the things are extra protective IMO. I guess if my kid went there i wouldn’t say that. I like the steps it takes to get in. The background check is a little overboard IMO. If i felt the person needed one i wouldn’t let them in. Just call the cops & let them talk to whoever it is.
