@Ratboy, Have you seen any of the libs today?
Cathy haven’t you noticed our lives on this website do not get up before noon. In some of our Liberals are from California. And you know the time zone there
I was waiting for the end of the world. I thought it was 9:00 a.m. California time. Then I read that the end of the world was supposed to be at midnight. We’re all still here! I even did my nails for it….just in case.
@ cathy I also find out that the main reason the U.S. debt is not a problem right now and hasn’t been in the past is that most of the U.S. debt is held by the U.S. government. The U.S. is taking in much more Social Security money than they are paying out. They used the additional Social Security money to buy treasury bonds. I’ve always heard the government used SS to run the country but this is the first time I really read the details.
______________________
Social Security was its own fund up until President Lyndon Johnson. He move SS from its own fund into the general fund to pay for the Vietnam War. THAT’s when the politicians started playing with SS. He should have never been allowed to do it.
@ratboy
My oldest son (home from college) comes downstairs and say,
“Darn, the world is still here. I guess I should have studied more for my finals.”

That makes it OK to go on like Greece. It is going to get us.
Okay, who forgot to turn off the Earth last night
What am I going to do with all of these pallets of canned sardines I bought at Costco. dang mayans
Doug:
It’s not OK for me. I am a very PROUD t-bagger as they call it around here. (Yes, I do know that t-bagging is a sexual act and Libs think they have some kind of inside joke on it). T-bagging to me is Taxed Enough Already. I’m a fiscal conservative.
I don’t want any taxes raised until government spending is way more efficient than it is now. I want the govt to have safeguards in place to prevent fraud, abuse and misuse, something they don’t seem to care about.
I don’t want taxes going up until politicians have the same retirement package as the rest of us and the same health care plan (Obamacare) as the rest of us.
Generation Y professionals entering the workforce are finding careers that once were gateways to high pay and upwardly mobile lives turning into detours and dead ends. Average incomes for individuals ages 25 to 34 have fallen 8 percent, double the adult population’s total drop, since the recession began in December 2007. Their unemployment rate remains stuck one-half to 1 percentage point above the national figure.
Three and a half years after the worst recession since the Great Depression, the earnings and employment gap between those in the under-35 population and their parents and grandparents threatens to unravel the American dream of each generation doing better than the last. The nation’s younger workers have benefited least from an economic recovery that has been the most uneven in recent history.
Doug Z
It’s not OK. We will crash sometime around 2028 -2030. So, we need to act now.

I suggest that you keep them. Jesus, who already came back from the dead once, is also rumored to be reappearing shortly, apparently to tour the scene of the dreadful crime which ended his last stay here. Coupled with the imminent arrival of the 12th Imam, you may end up needing your canned sardines sooner than you think.

This is my favorite Bing Crosby Christmas song. The original version is scratchy , but, this version is fine & since I love to ice skate, it isn’t boring to me, plus, I’m a better skater than they are.
