  • BevAG

TZCA, oh, that’s another HUGE issue!!!

But no it wasn’t that project. Thankfully everyone (not many) who say they’re going to do that project wind up not having the financial backing they say they have. At least we find that out BEFORE the California taxpayers get stuck with that tab.

This project I’m talking about is an overpass over the freeway project.

I hadn’t thought about being a terrorist for giving the kids hamburgers and hot dogs!! This was before Michelle Obama. Just think if I did it now I’d be on Homeland Security’s hit list!! lol

  • TZCA

    1966.

I’d be surprised if you’re not perpetually lol’ing at home with the stuff being said here at TVBTN.

  • TZCA

lol at Homeland Security hit list. And if DHS couldn’t get ya, then DHHS would take a crack.

  • Kendall

These numbers get stranger and stranger by the day.

Looks like CNN is coming back…with a vengeance. Good call on getting Tapper. He appears to be a reasonable guy…we’ll see.

I see a couple of the conservative commentators on here are adopting Tapper. I think they might be in for rude awakening. I think he’s a moderate/independent, and will hold ALL parties accountable. Good for him!!!

  • BevAG

TZCA, I do get amused, yes. :) But I enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.

Just to let you know, I wasn’t stopping that project. The project was actually a plus for the city.

I was just appalled that after ten years of planning they left some very important aspects of it that would benefit the people of the city. They were hoping that none of us noticed. At a town hall meeting two months before the project someone innocently brought up the question and the city engineer said, “Oh, we’re not doing that.”

I shot up immediately and said, “What do you mean? A 6.5 million dollar project and you’re not putting in a safety issue,” blah, blah, blah.

He does the regular government pass the buck thing, “Well, I can’t change it.”

    I said, “Who can?

    He says, “City council only.

I say, “When is the next CC meeting?

    He says, “Two weeks.”

Two weeks later CC was filled with thousands of people with the help of the high school kids. It was a great learning experience for them to be part of this whole process. The project was temporarily stopped. City council had special town hall meetings with all of us citizens. Three months later the safety issues were addressed and put in as part of the project.

I just loved that the kids stayed involved and saw that, “You can fight city hall and win.” We won!!!! ::::: doing a happy citizen dance :::::

Kendall, holding “all” parties accountable would be a breath of fresh air in the journalist world.

  • 1966

I hate to break this to you but obama has not been on vacation more than any other president.

  • TZCA

    @BevAG

$6.5 million and 10 years for an overpass project. I can only guess where most of that money went, and I’d bet it wasn’t steel, concrete, asphalt, DG fill, and labor.

  • Matthew

Obesity and type 2 diabetes are hilarious, and totally not a national problem. On a completely unrelated note, what’s up with my health insurance premiums???

  • BevAG

    TZCA,

Actually most of the holdup was with CalTrans. CalTrans doesn’t like overpasses that are less than a mile apart except, of course, in cities like Los Angeles, etcetera.

Yes, government projects are rich with graft and regulation, especially in California. We taxpayers get to pay for a whole lot of stuff we shouldn’t have to.

  • Mark2

@BevAG “Mark, my source is the fact that the Left wing websites are no longer saying that Bush took more vacations than Obama has. The Left wing sites are staying VERY far from statistics that show how many vacations Obama has taken because Left wing sites don’t want to say anything negative about Obama.”

That’s YOUR source????????????? That’s NOT a source you silly. When you find an actual source that shows that Obama has taken more vacation days than any other President in History then post it. Until then, stop making upand spreading LIES!!!

  • BevAG

1966, do you know which president has had more vacations than President Obama?

  • TZCA

    BevAG,

Sounds like you did a good thing. What were the safety measures?

  • BevAG

Mark, if Obama has taken less vacations than any other president, Left websites would have those statistics ALL over the place like they did in 2010 when Fox was talking all about Obama’s constant vacations.

The Left websites are saying nothing. So I take from that that Obama has had the most vacations like Fox News say he has because no Left website is contradicting Fox on that anymore.

  • 1966

g w bush had 225 vac days in 8 years.

  • 1966
  • BevAG

1996, and how many has Obama had in five years?

  • BevAG

Oh, 1966, I just love Connie Francis!!! Thank you so much!!! I’m dancing at home all alone to Connie Francis. Where do you find this stuff? lol I love it.

TCZA: It’s a long complicated issue for this forum. I’m purposely avoiding the question. I don’t mean to be rude, though. We can discuss it over a glass of wine sometime, though. :)
