CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW
“FACE THE NATION” IS FIRST IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS ON SUNDAY, DEC. 16
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION placed first in viewers and households on Sunday, Dec. 16. The CBS broadcast posted a 2.8/07 in households, 3.77m viewers and 0.9/04 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION posted its best household rating since January 23, 2005, best viewers and adults 25-54 deliveries since October 28, 2012. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 45% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION was up +33% in households (from 2.1/05), +20% in viewers (from 3.15m) and +13% in adults 25-54 (from 0.8/03).
Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +14% in households (2.4/06 from 2.1/05), +13% in viewers (3.25m from 2.89m) and is even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in households (2.4/06), viewers (3.25m) and adults 25-54 (0.8/03, tied with NBC) among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance and Gov. Dan Malloy (D-Conn.) about the investigation into the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn. Schieffer also spoke to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) about gun control and hosted a roundtable discussion on gun control and gun violence with James Peterson, Director of Africana Studies at Lehigh University; Dan Gross, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence; David Frum of The Daily Beast; and Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic. CBS News Senior Correspondent John Miller and CBS News Justice and Homeland Security Correspondent Bob Orr reported new details on the investigation, and CBS News National Correspondent Jim Axelrod and CBS News Correspondent Michelle Miller reported from the scene.
