From Acclaimed Executive Producers Michael Davies and Mark Burnett, The Series Gives Candidates a Chance at Winning Positions at Some of America’s Most Prestigious  Companies

CBS announced the new reality competition series THE JOB will premiere Friday, Feb. 8 (8:00–9:00 PM ET/PT).

From reality show masters Michael Davies (“Who Wants to be A Millionaire,” “Watch What Happens Live”) and Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Voice”), the series gives candidates selected from around the country a chance to win positions at some of America’s most prestigious companies.  Hosted by Emmy Award nominee Lisa Ling (“The View”), each episode will feature five candidates participating in several rounds of elimination challenges before a panel of executives as they compete for their dream job.  In addition to the episode’s featured company, representatives from three guest companies from related industries will have the opportunity to make an on-the-spot offer to one of the candidates, who must decide if they will accept the offer or remain in the running for the featured job.

The featured companies and broadcast order will be announced at the start of the New Year.

UNDERCOVER BOSS, which currently airs in the time period, will return on Friday, April 19.

THE JOB is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Embassy Row.  Emmy Award winners Michael Davies, Mark Burnett and Jay Bienstock are executive producers.

    The Apprentice?

Methinks Undercover Boss will be returning sooner than April 19th, if you know what I mean.

This looks great. Since Mark Burnett did the Apprentice, I think he’ll make sure it is much improved. I mostly wouldn’t watch the Apprentice because it turned into Trumps Nepotism.. now we have legit executives from major companies… much better concept. Excellent!

I know I won’t watch it, but it does sound like The Apprentice, which I didn’t watch either

    This show’s for squares.

CBS are idiots. Why put a new drama, Golden Boy, after this, when it can be after Undercover Boss, which is a beast on Fridays!

I predict high 0s to mid 1s. Maybe Nikita will beat it! ;-)

Surprised CBS wasn’t holding this until the summer, given the early pre-production hype for it.
