Wow, one of the best shows on television, The Hour, isn’t even charting. Any idea what its ratings are this season?
Hot in Cleveland actually went up from last week by .01. At least its a steady number!
@JR
I’m still wondering why the post always says “adults 25-54? in a post about 18-49 ratings.
‘Cuz it’s the truth. TVBTN’s source has the top 100 shows in A25-54. They just get rid of the A25-54 ratings and organize it into rankings by A18-49.
I still don’t know how TV Land can keep forking out the $$$ to Betty White and co. with HIC’s ratings declining each season. Same with HD.
Hot In Cleveland’s low ratings have nothing to do with Betty White. She has another show on NBC that gets great ratings and is coming back for a 2nd season in January, so she is a big draw. Let’s not forget she brought SNL their highest viewership since 2008 when she hosted in 2010 as well. The real issue is that Hot In Cleveland is on a network that has never been high in viewership – before this show it was known only for playing old, classic sitcoms so it didn’t really ever get high viewership. Betty White also isn’t center stage on this show, she is actually the supporting act. I think it has to do with the fact that it’s on a lower watched cable network and also the writing has gotten a bit lazy especially this season.
The only reason TV Land originals continue to be profitable is because in addition to their original airings, they’re also highly repeatable and bring in good ratings when repeated. So if you add in the original airing and the 50+ repeat airings of each episode of each show, they are probably making a good buck.
Amish Mafia repeat at 11 scores 2 million viewers on top of the 3 million at 9pm? You have got to be kidding me. That show is a monster. It looks like a movie.
Moonshiners is cool.
Amish Mafia is like a damn joke.
let’s also not forget HIC and most likely also HD are on the road to syndication, and since tvland OWNS the show, instead of just a licence to air it, that’s where the real money will be for them.
Lst week someone said they will bomb in syndication, since they have low first run ratings on tvland, that’s not how it works, just look at Soul Man that was repeated on another network a few months ago and got over 3 million viewers while on tvland barely reached 1 million.
For most of the market HIC and HD will feel like a “new” show once it starts airing in syndication, so the ratings could surprise everyone then.
Top Chef has certainly recovered nicely from the horrible season premiere ratings. This has to be the least talented group of chefs this show has ever come up with though.
I love how the O’Reilly Factor would be third is they ranked by total viewers, but is last when they do Demos
any infos about “The Soup”?
Ahh- thanks, Nick- it’s all clear now.
On a side note, it would be cool to see 25-54 numbers sometime, especially for TV Land.
And, yep- TV Land shows have to be somewhat profitable for the to renew them and maker more episodes. The multiple reruns are a plus in that regard.
