Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Does anybody know how many episodes are left of Made in Jersey?

  • John A

    LMAO at MIJ. Ridiculous numbers.

  • Oliver

Cops demonstrating why Fox is still making episodes of Cops.

Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol didn’t do great. That said, I hope NBC keeps airing it as a tradition, as the original Christmas special. I doubt it’s very expensive.

NBC repeated SNL in primetime?!? And it actually did pretty well too, all things considered. Wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a permanent fixture.

Miserable ratings for MiJ, but I do like that CBS eventually airs all produced episodes of its scripted cancellations. It’s disappointing that we’ll never get to see those other episodes of Lone Star.

  • lll

    Cops still got it.

  • MDM

lol, Tribute to the Troops. Wrestling does not belong on network TV.

  • Kay Roache

Where’s the cable ratings? TBS is doing better than the major networks with Big Bang and Wedding Band on Saturday nights.

  • John A

Pity to see 48 Hours do that bad but that horrible lead in dont help.

  • Kangarookeeper

What was on Fox at 9 pm?

  • david

Made in Jersey was preempted in Phoenix. The CBS affiliate showed a christmas movie instead of Made In Jersey. They showed Made In Jersey at 1 and 2 AM. They dont want to show Made In Jersey in primetime on Saturday nights here.

  • Tim

“wrestling does not belong on primetime” it wasnt just a wrestling show. It was a show dedicated to the men and women of the armed forces, ratings never matter for the show, wrestling does about more for the troops than any major sport does.

  • John A

How is Wedding Band doing on saturday nights?

  • Tom

Please don’t mock MIJ. With those ratings, the CW might pick it up as a replacement for the LA Complex.

  • JW

Gotta love the Saturday before Christmas. Decimal points all the way down the board! I guess it won’t take a rocket scientist to predict ESPN is going to wipe the floor with the broadcasters once the ratings for Falcons-Lions come in.

    This is kind of off-topic:

In about 4 years during the 2016-2017 TV season, would it be possible for The Big Bang Theory & Modern Family & other shows on CBS, ABC, & NBC to be considered hits with only low 1′s in the demo. We all know that ratings keep dropping for CBS, ABC, & NBC? Will that actually be possible?

  • THE OLD MAN

An historically low night lives up to its reputation. Mr Magoo didn’t stand a chance, but did better than WWE.

At least tonight PBS has a 2-hr Downton Abbey 9-11. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!

tribute to troops stunk from years past

  • Stephen Judson

Consider Tribute to the Troops aired on USA network. I expected those numbers for the NBC airing.

  • Cath

48 Hours claimed it was new but it was a repeat and if it was an updated show it didn’t have any really new info. Can’t blame lead in for that.

  • Hillbilly

Fairly Legal (USA network) & copy cat Made In Jersey both failed. :(

  • Joseph

Does anyone have the ratings for last night’s (December 22nd) “NFL Saturday Night Football” game between Atlanta and Detroit on ESPN??

I would think that the game may have come close to drawing as many viewers as ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC combined.
