    I lost weight too! The Flu Fairy smacked me very early Christmas morning so I was doing a different kind of “run” :shock:

    @Ratboy

    I hope you’re feeling better, I know this around here there are several bugs at epidemic proportions. Doctors are saying they have never seen it as bad as this year

    Get this Rats

    Very cool!! But I have a question. Are you an associate pastor or a rock star???? What are your “roadies” like? :lol:

  • Coffee Steve

    @Ratboy
    Are you an associate pastor or a rock star

    :-)

    For years I have been an advocate to get modern Christian rock into Baptist Churches, and with it we have seen an explosion of youth coming to concerts and accepting Christ as well.

    Many of us faced a lot of opposition from the Old Farts but when they see I’m an old fart as well and REALLY LOVE the music they kinda mellow out man..Like Coolsville

    With groups like the Newsboy, Mercy Me, of (I can only imagine) fame, and Jeremy Camp etc… It’s opened up a whole new area for us, and is now included in most Baptist Churches with cotemporary services of which I lead, of course.

    @Ratboy

    That Group (Newsboys) has been around a LONG while, Fantastic group from Aussie down Under except Michael Tait (lead Singer) who took over the lead 3 years ago, he used to be with a group called DC talk out of D.C. (Go Figure huh?) :-)

    BBL… been away so long I gotta re-stock on stuff

    later gators

    Peace

    Morning all,
    Ratboy hope you are feeling better. Coffee–so glad to see you back and hear about your good news. Our church does contemporary music. There are some very talented people in our church. I still like many of the old religious songs and wish they would continue to do some of them.
    Off for the day. Taking mother in law home. It has been beyond wonderful having her with us.

  • Ratboy

    @ Taking mother in law home. It has been beyond wonderful having her with us.

    Yea but its always a little better taking them home!! :twisted: :lol: :lol:

    I am feeling better but yesterday my son said “By the way dad, just wanna let you know that when we had it, even though you feel better every time you eat for the next few days you will feel like CRAP!” Thanks son! (but he was right!)

    Now isnt this the perfect role model for the nation and family! so much for the “family” vacation!

    Obama’s Family Vacation for Dudes

    President Obama’s just-completed five-day respite in Hawaii was the vacation some guys dream about, including an intense focus on recreation alone or with the guys and a comparatively light schedule of family-oriented events.

    Obama played golf three out of the five days he was on Oahu, engaging in marathon sessions of up to six hours for a total of about 17 hours on the links. He spent another three or four hours toning up in the gym.

    By contrast, he spent about two hours on the beach with the family and another couple of hours hiking with them.

    And not a moment, by the way, in church – unlike the two pre-election Hawaii Christmases of 2010 and 2011.

    Hi Rats,

    Think your flu fairy visited me yesterday. Am now drinking warm water, making a breakfast of lemon drops and went to work today. If I’m gonna feel crappy, might as well go to work.

    Yep it sucks for sure and I hope you feel better real soon but do not push it. I just talked to one of my contractors and she pushed it too soon and ended up sick for 4 days!! After hearing that i almost packed up and went home! :lol:

    Morning Raz, letMeThink, 1966

    Good to see you guys again.

    @LetMeThink

    Thanks, and it is good news, in addition my wife and daughter get to go to Scotland early Spring on a missions trip too, but we have to pay for that one :-) 3200 bucks for the 2 of them for a week. But some Doctors my wife works with are sponsoring about half the trip. Many of them go on Missions too.

    I’m taking the one thats a wee bit more eh… Interesting (shsshh) dangerious LOL, But don’t let my wife know she will lock me up.

    I used to be Medicare part d call rep, used to love to hear from the folks from Kentucky. One family was calling for their Momma, she lived in the trailer next door and they kept her medicine cuz Momma does tend to gooble up her pills and forgits she takes em. “Momma ain’t lost her marbles, she just forgits where she puts em.”

    I just loved that!

    Plus the old gentlemen from North Georgia used to say: ‘ya’ll right for a damn yankee.’ Which I guess is high praise, or at least I took it as such.

    Just like doing a budget, Reid says “let’s do NOTHING!!”

    Reid: Time has run out on ‘fiscal cliff’

    The Senate returned to business Thursday with an increasing sense that the country will go over the so-called “fiscal cliff,” leading to higher taxes and deep spending cuts across the board.

    “It looks like that’s where we’re headed,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, said in opening the Senate session, saying that he doesn’t see how any plan could be brought up in his chamber in time to beat the Jan. 1 deadline.

    Senators were rushing back to town to begin debating an intelligence bill and an emergency spending measure for Hurricane Sandy relief, but they have no plans to take up any bills to deal with the fiscal cliff
