This year, decades-old holiday specials have performed well, often wining their time periods. So here's a question to ponder this Christmas Eve: which holiday special is the best of them all? Vote then make a case for your favorite in the comments. Happy holidays!

You forgot the Star Wars Holiday Special.
What about Community Abed ‘s Uncontrollable Christmas?
My fav. Is not listed, it is Rudolphs Shiny New Year!
@Steve Binder: George Lucas wishes everybody forgot the Star Wars Holiday Special.
Charlie Brown Christmas of course =]
The Year Without a Santa Claus. Catapulted over the Grinch thanks to the Heat Miser and the Heat Miser Song.
Almost anything old is classic, as for the new stuff I liked the Prep and Landing specials.
The question I have is why is Shrek the Halls played every holiday and Scared Shrekless was only aired once?
Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer? duh…
The Human Fund: Money for People
Olive the Other Reindeer or A Christmas Story
Happy Holidays to Everyone !
The original Grinch – hands down, no contest!
Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer, but since its not on this list, my choice would be the one… the only… Mr. Grinch!
I like Charlie Brown Christmas and Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, but the best by far is Yes, Virginia.
The Grinch, cartoon of course. Hate the movie.
The Christmas Toy, a Muppets classic. Charlie Brown is also required viewing in our household this time of year and Prep & Landing was an instant tradition. The Garfield Christmas special was quite good, too, but nobody ever seems to play that anymore.
Schindler’s List
Raymond Brigg’s The Snowman. Without question.
Charlie Brown and The Grinch are kind of tied in my mind. I’ve also always liked the Rankin/Bass “Twas the Night Before Christmas” with the animated mice and the town clock story.
Yes Virginia was a nice new special.
But OMG yes, The Snowman. Not even David Bowie’s slightly odd intro can take away from what an excellent half-hour it is. Beautiful.
